How to do large num of rows insert (to DB)

Hi all sifu,

I have a text file which download from System21.
I need to split it line by line by separator (which is vbCrLf)
After i split, the total records are >50k
I have to save these bunch of data (50k) to database, and this data will be save into DB as row by row (meaning 50k data = 50k rows in DB)

1)The most stupid way is to call from VB.NET 50k times to save these data. (50k times of DB connections, omg, no way)
2)Another way is to use SqlBulkCopy which is build-in by .NET. But this has disadvantage, that is it will just save the data to destination table without "user defined validation" (which i mean is like doing in store procedure, we can validate the data before it saved.)
3) ..... don't know

Any sifu have the better way(s) to solve it base on my question above?

how to protect Source Code

Hi all expert,

We are going to hire some developers from outsourcing company.

Anybody have idea on how to protect the source code to avoid developers to copy out entire project?

Visual Source Safe can do that? But as i know, developers have to copy down the entire project to their own machine. They can simply copy the project out from the office

Control from their development PC? yes, we can block USB device, but how about internet? They can send the code out too. I don't think blocking the internet is a good way.

And how about Database? Can create a user to create and alter the database but not for backup/restore and import/export?

NetGear Modem Router Setting

Dear all,

I have a problem on my streamyx connection.
-I have signed up a 4MB Combo package.
-Today just changed the TM given modem router to this newly NetGear DGN1000.

Below is my setting.

May i know whether the VCI is correct? I know most of them using 35, but when i refer back to the document TM technician given, it stated to use 110, but it cannot connect to internet when i configured to 110.

May i know why the Downstream i have is only 3000kbps instead of 4096kbps?
There is something weird, when i 1st start this router, i get 4096, 2nd time 3600, 3rd time 3000; After that i keep on restarting, it keep remain at 3000kbps.

When i pinging my Counter Strike server, all the pings is more than 200ms, then i check speed on speedtest.net, i only get 1.78mbps download where i'm the only one who using the internet now.

Please help

Hi all,

I have a project, which running in ASP.NET MVC (.net 3.5), i hosted this application in local machine with Apache 2.2 (Please dont ask me to run it in IIS, i have the reason )

My problem is, when i login the 1st time, then close the browser without clicking "logout" button, and i open again the browser in login screen, type in the username and password, it did not log me in. I need to restart the Apache server, then i just can login again. It seems like it was the session not getting cleared in apache server.

I wonder anybody face this problem before? And what is the solution for it?

I just suspect whether i have to load the session module (mod_session.so) in the httpd.conf file?
But i tried google for mod_session.so, nobody are providing the file for download (as i search the entire apache folder installed in my machine, i cant found mod_session.so this file).

Latency problem

Hi all,

I searched a server (joker server) from steam and get the latency about 30+, so i join the server.

After i in the game, my latency bomb to 1000-2000, even i defrag the cs file by using steam, and even restart my pc for a few times, it still gives me the super high latency.

i have tried join other server as well, those server all no problem (with low latency), but only Joker server gimme the problem.

* i am sure i closed all internet connections and only running CS at the moment.

Do you all facing the same problem? Please help me

Hi,

I am not good in choosing a mobo and graphic card.

I know we cannot simply buy a mobo and put in graphic card... they will easily crash (correct me if im wrong)

So, i am here to ask all dai lou and expert i prefer to buy ASUS brand mobo and graphic card (as i know, asus + asus is the best combo), please do choose me a mobo and graphic card with total price RM800-RM1000.

Of course, for the mobo spec, at least c2d and pci-e

Server not allow overriding

I have contacted with the server customer service department, they said the server not allow overriding. Access to <identity impersonate="false"/> has been locked.

They ask me to check in details of the application as it might not suit to run in the server with medium trust application set.

Do anybody have solutions for this?

time out from server if download file

Hi all,

I am using a Belkin router, wireless + 4 ports..

I use flashget to download file, opened 1 thread... but always download until 80% it will stop there. I go check log from flashget, it said "Time out.", after that i keep reconnect, it will give me "Time out." also.

After that i view the security log from router, it wrote like this:

06/21/2007 12:44:02 **SYN Flood to Host** 192.168.2.2, 1979->> 69.41.162.12, 80 (from PPPoE1 Outbound)

i think is because the "SYN Flood" make my connection always been disconnect from the server (server blocked my connection).

been google for some solutions, but all not help... please advise. thx

I using asp.net 2.0 + vb.net.

i have an ObjectDataSource named "objDS" which will do a searching function.

objDS.FilterExpression = "NAME = 'B' AND Email = 'B' "
this will do the searching from DB where name = B and Email = B.

my problem is , when i put DateDiff(d,DOB,GETDATE()) in this FilterExpression, it will gimme an error with " The expression contains undefined function call DATEDIFF(). "

googled.. but not giving me the answer i want... hm ~~

I hv just bought k618. i hv a problem here, the "dialed number, incoming number, missed call" features not working in my phone.

for eg: i hv dailed a number 0123456789, but it wont show in my "dialed number" list. And when i received a missed call, the missed call wont show out.

Can anybody expert pls help me to solve this problem?

but it gives me this error when the header code been executed.
