Problem on Transfer of Title

Hey guys.

I just signed into a letter of offer to purchase a property.

The property is a freehold landed single storey house.

However, the current seller is not the owner of the house. The issue here is that the name under the title is the name of the Grandparents of the current owner. And they are in the process of getting the will to transfer the title from the grandparents to the current owner.

We weren't informed of this by the negotiator because he also apparently is acting as a middle man to another agent.

We were told that because of the will and the transfer of title, we should expect to get the house and the transfer of title to my name at the end of 2018.

The questions I have would be:

1. Is the extension of time normal? At first we were told that it would be possible for us to get it on July (Should all processes proceed as normal)
2. Would it be considered as negligence by the negotiator for this issue rather than mine?
3. How long would a will get executed in this case?
4. I'm not in a losing position because of the issues that came out right?

Pixels Movie Charity Drive Screening!

When I was younger, I had this dream of doing a movie screening gathering with other Malaysian gamers to watch Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Having a hall full of gamers looking at Michael Cera living a game-kind of life is pretty exciting. Plus Nintendo was very much in support of the movie in the past, so imagine hearing the Zelda theme during the dreamscape. Unfortunately, it didn't happen because Universal canceled that last minute in Malaysia. I said ok. That's cool. (Bought the blu ray though. And that was awesome. haha)

It's 2015 and "Pixels" by Sony Pictures is coming. And I want to be able to fulfill my dream, at least this once. But to make it sweeter, I want this to be a charity event. Where aside from enjoying the movie, we will also be doing a fund raiser to donate to a chosen local charity. And I promise that aside from you just giving, you also will receive something too!

A little info on the movie first:

Years ago, the US decided to send a time capsule in space to represent the cultures of what the US is. So, they sent stuff like games and whatnot. The aliens, looking at Space Invaders, Centipede, Pacman, and all that, thought that it was a message saying that they are declaring an act of war to the aliens (and we have no idea if there are even aliens in this case). So, in retaliation, they sent back our giant beloved video game characters... to destroy. So, it's up to a team of legendary classic game champions led by... erh... Adam Sandler to take on Pacman, Space Invaders, Centipede, Donkey Kong (and a SMURF???) in their mega pixelised forms, or else we get pixelised ourselves.

Trailer is pretty fun to watch though, and it's not Iwatani (Creator of Pacman) in the trailer. That's an actor portraying him:

Here are the details for the screening:

Date: 15th August 2015
Theater: Cathay Cineplexes, e@Curve, Damansara (The Mall next to The Curve)
Tentative Screening Time: 2.30PM - 4.30PM
Targetted Attendees: 300 pax (So that the hall is ours!)
Film Version: 2D
Charity to Donate to: Finalising very soon.

For the screening, we are asking for RM 25 per pax. The monies will be spent for the following items:

I'm also in the planning of creating an RM30 per pax package that also gets you a free game! But this is still in the planning to see how it works.

Since it is a charity screening, there will be no profit made for the event. However, should you wish to donate more money to the chosen charity, we will set up a box for you to add into.

I am in the works of trying to get a collectible made from this screening for everyone who's attending. Consider it a small gift from us to thank you for your invaluable support for the charity screening.

Should you be interested, I will also showcase to you the costs that will be spent to make this event as well.

Hahahahahah. Yes I know. Regardless of the man, we are doing this for charity. Besides, it would be very fun to watch Pac Man, Donkey Kong, the Centipede come visit us in the big screen. Plus Olaf (Josh Gad) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Fricking Dinklage) are both in it. Also, I am not sure how I feel about Kevin James shooting a Smurf though. But still, having a crowd of gamers watching in the same hall is pretty epic to me.

4. Kyo, can I donate to your operations before the event? You are not going to take my money during the event, but I want to help you during your planning stages still.

The D-Box experience

WOW

I have heard of the D-Box motion seats a while back when I was scouting for more advance techs in movies. Was very happy to learn that GSC was happy to pick this up and launch it alongside Guardians of the Galaxy.

Being one of the first people to go through the whole movie on the highest settings (There's 4 of it and an off switch.), allow me to show what it actually means first.

Now then, lets get to the 2 experiences that I had

The D-Box Demo Reel

This Demo Reel, was, WONDERFUL. It did set some of the expectations on how Guardians will feel like. But it was a mix of scenes where you sit in an F1 car (Would have loved to watch Rush with this), a fighter jet (give me Top Gun or How To Train Your Dragon please!), a roller coaster, and finally ejecting from the plane's seat into space.

The feeling is remarkable. With the vibrations, and the seats turning left and right in the car, and the simulation of the speed in a fighter jet with its hard rights and lefts, along with riding in a roller coaster while going down the rails, the simulations are, in my opinion, 75% accurate to the real feeling. I mean, I don't really know how it really feels to be in those things, but hey, at least it does help give the expectations.

I do like the last bits when the "audience" was launched into space. The seat will then smoothly and comfortably make us feel as if we're floating in mid air in Zero G. My girlfriend recommended that I lift my feet off if I want to have the full immersion experience. I kinda agree.

So, for immersive levels, yes, this brings the whole experience to a new level.

On the downside, during the demo reel, the people at the front have NO IDEA what the hell is going on. So for those of you in Hall 3 during the Atmos D-Box sessions, feel free to look back during the demo reel, to see how WONDERFUL it is to be rocking in that seat. hahaha.

On Guardians of The Galaxy

Now that we're done with the Appetizer, lets head into the main course.

Does D-Box work wonderfully with this movie? DAMN RIGHT IT DOES. I can't think of another experience which can top this (Although, would love to watch How To Train Your Dragon with this seat) especially with this movie. The next 2 incoming ones? Not sure if Lucy is that worth it (maybe during car chases), but Into the Storm feels promising (What with the wind and all).

Now back to the movie. The seat doesn't move all the time. During quiet dialogue moments, it stays silence. So you can relax a bit from the intensity of scenes.

but when the dogfights starts, it makes you feel as if you're Rocket commanding the ship during the scene at Knowhere. This scene alone wins. There's plenty of standout scenes (Especially the one with Groot) that makes you feel either you are the characters, or the bad guys being punished.

There is however one part that I didn't really fully enjoy (I still like it, but it felt weird): The hand to hand combat scenes. not that I don't like how Gamora was kicking ass against Nebula. But there were some moments where I liked (getting punched in the right direction, made the seat go right and back) and then there was some that I didn't (Throwing empty punches let me into weird directions, along with parries where the THUMP feeling came out).

but you won't regret being abducted by the Ravagers (At the start where Peter gets taken), or the dogfights, along with the final act.

Would I recommend this to people? Yes. Is it for everyone? NO. I don't believe that. There will be moments where you feel the vibration can get annoying. It wasn't for me. At all. Another issue that you would want to consider is finding the right movie to make you feel the immersion is there. And to make that extra RM 15 worth it. But I'm certain, for movies like Star Wars, or even Guardians, it will feel great. I probably would like to try the seat if Iron Man 3 was replayed, only to see how great it feels to have the armor attach to Tony in his Mark 42.

If anything, the endless imaginative me has been reignited. if you haven't watched Guardians yet, you may have the best option available to you now. Sorry IMAX 3D (Or even 3D in general), you didn't win this time.

Club Nintendo Rewards FAQ

So many of you have been wondering what the hell is Club Nintendo and if the same stuff can be enjoyed by Malaysians. The best way to answer it is a yes and a no at the same time. I’ll start with how easy it is to how difficult it can get. So, as per my other FAQs, here’s the lowdown on what it is:

1. What the heck is Club Nintendo?
It’s a loyalty reward system organised by Nintendo that aims to reward gamers who keep on buying Nintendo games and stuff. It’s actually pretty neat to be honest since other providers did not come up with this loyalty service years ago (and still have not).

2. What can I get from Club Nintendo?
Honestly, a whole bunch of stuff. Mainly, the appeal of Club Nintendo is all the rare stuff that you can’t get anywhere else. They don’t sell plushies, figures, soundtracks, some never to be released games even (There’s this one I remember in the DS where you screamed to be a Power Ranger of some sort. IT WAS FRIGGING AWESOME).

3. So how easy is this thing to register?
We are starting to get into the hard part.
1. Register your Club Nintendo account using a FAKE US ADDRESS. Yup, this will only work if you decide to use a fake address.
2. You need to begin with a US region of a game or console. For Malaysians (as of the date of the FAQ being published), it’s easier to begin with the WiiU, followed by the 3DS XL, and then the games. Ok, supposingly the games are easier to start with, but lets not raise suspicion by just a registering a US game out of nowhere and NEVER BUYING A CONSOLE. Sounds odd don’t it?
3. Once all that is done, you’re all set to go!

4. What is this coin thingy?
Coins are what you get when you register your game or console on to the Club Nintendo Account. On average, it should follow that for every USD you spend on, you get 1 coin. So, usually for 3DS titles priced at USD 39.99, that’s 40 coins.

5. I have a ton of Asian/ Japanese / Pal games! Can I register them?
No. The only way you can do is to have a US game, with a Club Nintendo Pin inside. It’s usually a red card slip inside the game case.

It must be mentioned that if you're intending to go for Club Nintendo Japan or Club Nintendo UK, then you can using the games that you have (Japanese or Pal games respectively). For Asian region, you're out of luck.

6. Wait, how come? I thought Asian and US are the same region?
By coding, yes they are. By eligibility, no they are not. Reason being, what matters for you is to register your game or console to your Club Nintendo account. So, you need that Red Card Slip.

7. Ok, say I have them US games, and a US console (To avoid suspicion), and I have gotten them all registered. Would you tell me how to redeem the stuff?
Honestly, I can’t. Only because I don’t endorse it. However, I can teach you how still:
1. Follow the instructions on the your accounts page. From there, find the Rewards section.
2. Redeem the digital downloads first. We’ll talk on the physical stuff later.
3. Once you have the sufficient coins, you will get your redeemable download code.
4. If you’re familiar with topping up at the 3DS / Wii U E Shop, it’s the same thing. Place the code in, and walah, you get your game.

8. Wait, that’s just the digital game. What if I want a plushie or a soundtrack?
Well kid, lets talk hardships. Because you’re about to get into one.
1. As I mentioned earlier, I am sure you can redeem as you desire.
2. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU WANT TO SHIP IT, THEY DON’T ALLOW YOU TO SHIP TO MALAYSIA. IT’S ONLY FOR US CITIZENSHIPS (And possibly Canadians too).
3. And now, you’re f*cked.

9. WAIT WHAT????
I know. Tough life. Suck it up kid.

10. WHAT’S THE POINT THEN???
I don’t know. You sounded so eager to want it in the first place but never did your study. /starts lighting up a ciggie.

11. SMOKING IS BAD.
Stop screaming. I was meant to look cool for this moment.

12. I’m guessing that coolness of yours means there’s a bypass.
I did say yes and no didn’t I? And how this is to progress from easy to hard.

13. So, what’s the bypass then you schmuck.
It’s a long trip, so lets continue with number 4.
4. Technically, you’re not that f*cked yet.
5. If you want a physical item from the US store, you need to consider these options below:
- Have a relative in the US to send it back to you. You will have to put in his/her details to get it shipped to them. And then they will have to send it back to you.
- Hire a shipping service. Some people in the US know that US items stays in US. They don’t get out of there. So, these shipping services can help you send. Some of them that I can remember include VPost and HopShopGo. VPost is more popular among Malaysians. And these shipping services are not cheap.
- Fly there and get it yourself. Plan a month’s long vacation so that you can time it to get it any time you want. But whether they send to your hotel or not remains to be explored.

14. How much does them shipping services cost?
Beats me. Last I checked it would be USD 20 per item or 500 gram or something like that.

15. WHY SO MAH FAN?
Ask Nintendo.

16. You don’t do that kind of service where you bring the Club Nintendo stuff back for us?
I may be Malaysia’s Favorite Guy when it comes to Nintendo stuff, but this I don’t do.

17. Are you doing it in the future?
I would say never say never. But then I would be singing Justin Bieber. No one wants that.

18. WELL ARE YOU???
Not at the moment genius.

19. Ok. Fine.

21. So is it really beneficial?
Honestly, for the download games, I would say yes. For the rare stuff, yes too. No one else will get them for you. Only Nintendo can. The downside is you need to pay to get these rare stuff back in Bolehland.

22. Ok. Then I will struggle. BUT SAY. SAY. SAY, do you know where I can buy this rare stuff?
Play-Asia.com. I’m serious. They have a section that sells that stuff. (And also Ebay, thanks to Muhammad Fuad for that)

23. Wait really???
Yeah, of course. Whether there’s stock or not, different story.

24. So…. I don’t have to buy games and whatnot just to get those stuff?
It seems so. Unless Nintendo decides to pull Play-Asia’s plug an render them useless since it’s not strictly legal anyways.

26. They should make this stuff available worldwide.

Owh, the Elite Status? That’s simple. You only need to register a certain amount of titles and coins to get them. 300 for Gold. 600 for Platinum. When you get that level, you unlock super ultra rarer stuff.

30. WHOA. I WANT ULTRA RARER.
Maybe you should consider Ultra Street Fighter 4 instead. That’s less hassle. It won’t be available for Nintendo though (as far as I am concerned).

31. Do I retain my Elite status forever?
No. It expires every 1st July. You start back at Zero for that.

32. THEN WHERE DO ALL MY COINS GO???
They still are around. Just available for the more available stuff. They do this every year.

33. What if I want more coins? And what’s this +60 or whatever number next to the console or game that I bought?
Those are extra coins that you can get provided you meet some criterias, like filling in surveys or buying in specific means.

34. I think I’m all set. I know now what should be done Master.
Before you go, here’s a little checklist on whether you should or should not invest in this Club Nintendo Reward thingy:
- Do you have a means to get stuff from US?
- Do you not mind on paying a small shipping fee to get the ultra rare stuff back?
- Do you intend to buy lots and lots of games from Nintendo?
- Do you want to get this on only because you want more games from Nintendo not caring whatever game it is?
- Do you intend to be loyal to Nintendo and be a fanboy forever? Screwing the other console makers with their wishy washy policies and troll face attacks?

If you answered yes to all that (or even just one of it), then yeah, I welcome you to the club. Remember rule number 1, we don’t talk about CLUB NINTENDO REWARDS.

The Nintendo Wii U FAQ

Dear Kyo,

1. What is the Nintendo WiiU?

It is the offspring of Nintendo's Wii. Instead of bundling with a remote, it comes with the infamous WiiU Gamepad.

2. What is so special about the console?

Erh, I just told you, it's the Gamepad. The Gamepad works as a controller plus tablet screen hybrid for you to play games with. It's a pretty neat technology when it was introduced though. Another way to look at it would be to picture the lower part of the 3DS/DS console, but blown up in size. It's roughly the same idea (even the battery life borrows the same idea).

3. What are the specs of the machine?

Really? This is important to you? I am not going to write it down. I'll just refer you to this link below.

4. What games can it play? Is it region locked again?

The WiiU plays both Wii and WiiU games. And yes it is region locked again. So, pick the right region! (Aka DON'T BUY EU or JAPANESE GAMES. They don't work unless you buy the same console from that region.)

5. What's the common region sold in Malaysia?

It is usually the US version. However, there are reports of sellers selling Asian version. I can tell you that these are indeed Asian versions (provided the adapter for the console and the WiiU are both officially made for Malaysian Plugs) and these consoles are distributed by Maxsoft Singapore. However, it should also be noted that while Maxsoft does sell the console, it is not considered as an Official Asian WiiU unit. It can be considered as a Parallel Import of a US Unit in Asia.

6. That sounded confusing.

It is. But that's what business is made of.

7. So there is no difference if I choose Asian or US region right?

Nope. Not at all. But it helps to get the Asian one since the plug is officially made.

8. Would you mind telling me what other regions are available?

Sure. There is the US one, Asian one (which is same to US), Europe/UK/Australia one, and Japan one.

9. Are you thinking of the Xbox One at the moment?

No. I'm Malaysian. You'd have to include Lah or One depending on which race you are. Then again, I'm Malaysian, I use all of it.

10. How many versions of the console is there?

Actually, a few iterations have been released since it's official launched in 2012. Allow me to cover it for you.

8GB White Color Basic Edition
- Launch edition (No games were included here)
- Bundled with Skylander's Swapforce (Was available during Black Friday 2013)

32GB Black Color Deluxe Edition
- Launch edition (Bundled with Nintendo Land at the time. Very fun. Bundle has been discontinued though)
- ZombiU bundle (Same with the Nintendo Land bundle, just that they replaced the game. A Nintendo WiiU Pro Controller also came bundled.)
- Limited edition The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD bundle (Bundled with the digital game and a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia book. The centerpiece is the Limited Edition Gamepad)
- The Super Mario Bundle (Latest bundle since Black Friday 2013 and has been going on since. It comes with 2 games: New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U)

11. How much is the price of the console and what is commonly available now?

At the moment, the mainly distributed one is Super Mario bundle. Now, that one can range from RM 1250 to RM 1400. There has been no official price, so I can't provide a good one. It might even be cheaper if you buy it from Singapore.

12. What is included in the box?

- The console. (DUH)

- The gamepad. (DUH)

- An HDMI Cable. (If you're looking to play the console on a SDTV, you are out of luck)

- A Sensor Bar.

- Stands for the console and the gamepad. (only available in deluxe model)

- Adapters for both console and gamepad. (Yes they are giving you two adapters.)

- The respective bundled game.

13. BUT I ONLY HAVE AN SDTV ONLY KYO. HOW????????

CHILL IT YO. The back of the WiiU still has a Video out for Composite or Component cables. However, you are going to have to buy it separately. Don't worry, a cap ayam/third party version will do fine. It's not that expensive anyways (RM 25 I think for a Component one).

14. Ok. What is the average price for games then?

The range is from RM 50 to RM 200. There hasn't been any rare titles yet. Although, WindWaker HD might just be rare soon.

15. Yosh! Already got my brand spanking new WiiU!

Congratulations! Now look at the back and see which ports are necessary for you to plug into.

16. Erh Kyo, do I need to pasang both the HDMI and the Video Out at the back of the WiiU?

(You won't believe this, but the question has been asked before) No need. Just choose one or the other. The HDMI will be your priority whenever possible.

17. What does the USB port at the back do?

Last time in the Wii, you can hook up to a keyboard, HDD, and various other USB eccentric Devices. The same works for the WiiU as well. I believe you can also update your console from the USB port now compared to when it was launched.

18. Am I ready to play the WiiU now sir?

Go ahead. It is all yours.

19. Wait, Kyo, my adapters are for US plug. It doesn't fit into the Malaysian wall plug. How?

Ah, easy. You have 2 options for this.

1, You can invest in Stepdown Converters/Adapters. These can be easily obtained for RM 24 - RM 30. It would help you regulate voltage with the US adapter. (Pro Tip: Ask for the EKK Brand. That's the commonly available brand)

2, You can easily use a Travel Adapter. Now, this doesn't regulate the voltage in the WiiU's adapter. However, the WiiU's adapter have been multi voltage right from the start. So you can actually use it anywhere around the world, provided you have the appropriate travel adapter for it. It can easily be bought for RM 8 to 16 at places like Plaza Lowyat or even your normal electric store.

20. Which is one is safer in your opinion?

Frankly speaking, out of 12 customers who bought the WiiU from me, I managed to get 2 users who bought Stepdown Converters, while the rest decided to use Travel Adapters. Only 1 of 'em had issues with the console, and that was because he forgot to unplug his console during a bad weather. One other dude (didn't buy it from me) however had his console fried by the Stepdown Converter.

One of my customers who used the travel adapter couldn't turn on the WiiU for the first time. Subsequent tries and it worked like a charm after.

So from those experiences, I hope it helps you to decide which one works the best for you.

21. BUT YOU'RE NOT ANSWERING MY QUESTION...

22. How do I turn it on?

There are two way: From the console itself / From the Gamepad itself. It's that easy.

23. Kyo, if there is a sensor bar that came with the WiiU, that means I can use the Wii Remote too right?

Yes and no. With some games, you can play with the remote (most games would). But definitely not all. Wii Games of course will be all.

Yes and no as well. Not all the games were built with this feature though. But of course, it is nice to have Remote Play on the WiiU Gamepad.

On Wii Mode, you can play games from the Gamepad. Not sure why you would, since it is so frigging small.

26. Is it ok to play the WiiU while the Gamepad is being charged?

Due to the fact that the Gamepad has only 3 to 5 hours of battery life, you may want to consider that as an option. There is no harm or damage that might happen (except when you're playing with thunder and lightning coming out everywhere at your area). But if it does happen, /runs.

27. Ok, so I turned it on. It is asking me to choose country setting. Shall I choose Malaysia?

The best country to change into is US. Here are your benefits:

- US E-Shop has loads more content.
- You can download Wii U Apps from the E Shop.
- You will be playing with or against US friends.
- Malaysia or Singapore probably has nothing again in the E Shop like it's 3DS counterpart.

28. AMAIGAWD It's asking me to register Nintendo Network ID. HELP!

Erh... This shouldn't be a problem really. Again, make sure the country setting is in US. This will make your Malaysian Credit Card unusable, but based on answer number 27, you will reap more in the end. When filling in the address, use an address in the US.

29. But how do I get a US address. I don't live there.

I know. But you will have to. Google is going to be your best bet.

30. Why don't you teach me on how to get the US address?

Reason being is that it is considered illegal to provide a fake address. I mean, logic lah right?

Honestly, you can download it from the US E Shop as free apps. Whether it works or not in our country is a different case altogether.

That being said, you actually have other options that you can use to view those apps. Mainly from the PC itself or by using VPN. But that's entirely up to you. I will try to cover this next time.

33. What if I want to expand my Hard Disk? 32GB is pretty small to me.

You have 3 options:

1. Buy a big ass external HDD up to 2 TB (probably has increased in limit)

2. Use an SD Card with an SD Card adapter (The front one won't work)

3. Thumbdrive also can~

34. How do I play Wii Games on the Wii U?

Easy. Either switch to Wii Mode by clicking the icon on the gamepad or by the remote, or you just insert a Wii game disc. Done.

2 at a time. That's the most. But good luck on finding a spare gamepad to purchase! Apaprently, it's not sold on it's own. Maybe Nintendo should do that now.

Ah, that's sort of like Nintendo's Reward Points system (Not to be confused with Club Nintendo Rewards). It will expire end of 2014. The tricky part is that in order to get this, you will have to consistently buy from the E Shop to get those points. For every 500 points you earn, you get a USD 5 discount on your next code that you can use in the next purchase.

38. Is it worth it?

Well..... At the time of writing, it is going to expire at the end of 2014. If it does expire, then it's not. But point is, if you're buying lots of games for the Wii U, then by all means yes. besides, saving 100 dollars from purchasing USD 1000 worth of stuff is pretty neat.

39. OK... So, next one. Can Malaysians use Nintendo TVii at their homes?

Honestly, I am not too sure. I have not been able to test this yet. Remind me to test this soon ok?

All the previous accessories that you used for the Wii would work on the Wii U. This does exclude Gamecube items.

42. Is the Nintendo Wii U pro Controller worth my time?

For some games yes. To alleviate your frustrations from using the Gamepad often (due to battery power), yes as well. But as usual, take note that not all games support the controller.

That being said, a shame that it is one of the nicest controllers Nintendo has ever made. Aside from the revolutionary Wii Remote that is.
