Problem Connecting Internet Using Broadband

Hello guys,really hope someone can help me to solve dz prob.Here,my friend has a laptop.The model is acer aspire 4520 if im not mistaken.It can connect using streamyx and wifi.But when connected with wireless broadband such as maxis broadband or celcom boradband it cant connect to internet.So can somebody enlighten me on this?

i cant download using idm...im using vista home premium..i hv asked around and someone told me that it's because bit defender that had being installed along with vista...i try search for it but that software is not in my pc...then i googled,someone said about windows defender and firewall...i hv disabled it using services.msc...still,not working..hopefully any kind soul can help me here..and thnx for advance>,<
