From the moment your beau slips that dazzling ring on your finger, your brain goes into wedding-planning overdrive. But even the most detail-oriented, budget-conscious bride can be caught off guard by unanticipated expenses, especially in the Wedding Shows or Bridal expos.

Don’t be fooled by the wedding vendors that appeals with cheap wedding packages in the bridal expos. In reality, however, even though these cheap bridal appear to be cheap after-all isn’t that cheap because there are many extra charges that you will miss and be blindsided to sign. End of the day, you end up paying more on some of these extra hidden cost. Following are some of the common complaints and negative feedback on these unethical bridal vendors during bridal expos.

Hidden Cost

You thought you signed up for a perfect bridal package in a Bridal Expos that covers everything you need but suddenly you are slapped with the following reply from the bridal shop:

“Sorry that is not included, you have to pay extra for that …”

Well it is a little too late, you already signed on the dotted line. Just when you thought you got the best deal in town after squeezing the sales person dry, you suddenly realize that there are so many hidden cost and extra charges that are not included in your bridal package.

You cannot view your gowns or Poor Selection of Wedding Gowns

Some bridal shops request you to pay extra for Designer gowns but they will not tell you this until your big day. After signing up the bridal packages, you suddenly realize you are not able to find your dream gowns. That is why it is always highly recommended that you view the gowns before signing. You cannot view or try your gowns and check the quality in the Bridal expos unless you visit the bridal boutiques.

Furthermore, Those gowns you tried before signing up are not included in your package as they are designer gowns. All the OTR gowns that you can choose from in your “normal” package are all old and off-season, you are now been requested to pay extra to upgrade to these Designer gowns with the extra beads and lace.

FAKE Wedding Album

There are various types of wedding albums. It is important to check if the samples you viewed before signing up are the actual ones you are getting. It is common for the vendors to purchase a good quality wedding photos online and take that as their portfolio, that makes more appealing to you and attract your attention.

When RM3000 became RM10000!!!

Don't be penny wise and pound foolish,You get what you pay for, if you were keen on gaining petty deals from the bridal expos, be prepared that you might be ended up with great loss. We bet you know tons of soon-to-wed couples would have to pay extra for their bridal package.

Most bridal packages contract do not cover every single detail. Some unethical sales person tried to sell you more stuff after you already signed up with them. To make things worse, their attitude also changes from everything is OK to everything please pay.

5.
PUSHY Sales-Person

The vendors will pounce or be overly aggressive to you. Vendors try to close your order and try to "pressure" you into booking their services or placing a deposit with them "right now" or you will be reached out by sales reps that asking you to give them few mins to explain their deals to you.Beware, you might be ended up spending 2 hours sitting in their booth listening to how they brainwashing your mind.

In the worst-case scenario, you could only get 2-3 bridal package quotation from the vendors after spending 4-5 hours in the bridal expo, it would be tedious and hectic.

6.
FRAUD AND SCAM

There are stories of bridal vendors disappeared after couples signed up their wedding packages and they have been many times reported in the newspapers that these vendors do not even have a physical store in Malaysia. Some of the bridal expo vendors provide unprofessional services or perform poorly. The organizers aimed for great profits will not filter their exhibitors and the couples will have to bear with the consequences.

Sorry not included – It is important to check what is included and not included. A Lot of Bridal expo vendors will require you to pay extra for the following. Some outsource their wedding makeup artist, so they request you to pay the MUA directly.
