Unifi Connection with Cross Cable

Hi guys, I am currently setting up the external network for users in my office. Please see the diagram below:

From the diagram above, I am not able to connect the laptop to the internet if I use the 8 ports switch. But if I directly plug in the cross cable to the laptop from data port at level 28, I can access to the internet. Did I miss something?

I think if from the data port at level 28 then use the cross cable to the switch, then use the straight cable to the laptop, then I will not get the internet access, since it will clash with the other laptop.

Should I use another cross cable from the switch to the laptop?

Hi Guys,

Currently working on a directory website and planning to include the GA profile for each of my registered customer. As for my domain should be like www.domain.com and my registered customers will have their own profile page as www.domain.com/customers instead of www.customers.domain.com.

Once they logged in, they can see the customized GA report for their profile page. In the mean time, they will also get a custom GA report for www.domain.com. Is it possible to have something like this?

Did not receive attachment in email

Guys,

Has any of you experienced the problem of attachment not included inside the email? My user are using a new Torch and somehow one day she didn't receive the attachment in her BlackBerry. But when she check on her Outlook, the attachment was with the email. This is the third time it happened.

Last time when she got this problem, I did the shutdown by taking out the battery and reboot again. Nothing happened. I also tried reformat by wiping the BB and reassign the device to the BES. The problem still happen, intermittently.

I already googled but I dont see any link to this kind of problem. I only found the link for the opposite problem (receive attachment in BB but not in Outlook). Any of you know what was the cause of this problem? Is it related to the setting in Outlook?

Hi Guys,

I am looking for information regarding the format of license registration number for business and company.
Last time when I called SSM, they mentioned that the format should be like these:

Company: XXXXXX-Y
Enterprise: WWXXXXXXX-Y

Where W, X and Y are computer generated characters.
W value consisting of number 00 (for KL) and alphabet for other states.
X value consisting of numbers and alphabet.
Y value consisting of alphabet only.

And to add more, for Enterprise, some business have 4 or 5 X's (for business registered long time ago) instead of 6 for the new business nowadays.

And this is the list of the state code that I got from e-info. I have to search one by one since the SSM guy I talked with ask me to check it manually and they don't provide that kind of information

I also red somewhere that in Semenanjung, all must register with SSM but for Sabah and Sarawak, they have to register with the local authorities. Is it correct? So if I want to get the information for Sabah and Sarawak, where should I go to? Do they have their own website? I happened to email to a website (I think its Kota Kinabalu local authority website, can't remember) asking about this thing pass few days back, but yet to received any reply from them.

I think I might got the wrong info somewhere. Any of you have experience on this? Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi,

Have any of you ever developed such website using Wordpress and GMaps API? (I am referring to Maps JavaScript API and not the Static Maps API). And you have your registered users input their data so that it will show the information in the map, which I can say "user generated content". (correct me if I'm wrong). Such example of website are iProperty.com, P1.com.my, Yelp.

If using Wordpress is not a good start, do you know any other CMS that suitable for this kind of website? Or develop your own website is a better solution?

I am interested with that kind of website and thinking of develop one. But the problem is that I haven't been playing with the coding (php, html, javascript, etc...) for years. And now I am learning those language and script again, from basic.

Mind to share your experience or advice?

Data Restoration

I did ghost my HDD because the prevoius Windows was getting slower and slower. Might be too old and need a refreshment.
But now i forgot to backup the data inside before I ghost the HDD.

Is it possible to restore the data inside? i heard about BartPE, but donno if can use or not. Any suggestion for other software besde BartPE?

Reinstall M$ Office 2k3 with original licence key

I got a problem when after I do a basic maintenance (disk cleanup, delete temp file, compressed file, etc) on a notebook for someone but I didnt uninstall anything.

After that she said that the Equation Editor in Word cannot function. She is using the original software but couldn't locate the original cd.

Is it possible to reinstall/modify M$ Office 2003 application such as Word using Lanun cd but with the Original licence key? (in case she only have the original licence key)
