MNRB

This stock is starting to look very interesting, might be a good long term play.

Past year pe of 4.8.

Largest local reinsurer in Malaysia, owns takaful ikhlas. They also own some concessions with the government that requires local reinsurers to cede a certain amount of their business to them.

It's been languishing below RM3 for a long time, used to be considered a blue chip stock.

They own Malaysian Re, which contributes most of their profit, the underwriting profit from the reinsurance business has been declining for quite a number of years, but just last year there was an uptick, might be a sign of good things to come. The dividend was canceled during 2009 because of poor profits, but it looks like its turned around and there is a good chance that the dividend will be reinstated. Assuming that they give out 40% of their earnings, that would come up to 23.2 cents per share based on 58 cents of profit. At 2.8~2.8 that gives u roughly 6% after tax.

Their takaful business has also begun to move out of its baby phase, the coming years ought to see a good increase in profits. Because of the nature of life insurance, which requires them to pay insurance agents for 6 years for each policy they bring in, the profits can remain surpressed for the near term.

The prospects look quite good, I'm seeing a lot of new jobs going on in the offshore business, aka oil. These equipments need insurance, and Malaysian Re provides insurance for these things. It ought to be a very good bump up for their business, the only problem is how they underwrite these new revenue.

I'm just interested in knowing, I know that there are many people who given the chance would migrate. Given the choice, if I could do it easily, I probably would as well. So where would you go?

CIMB sucks

I've been banking with CIMB for around 9 months so far because I signed onto itrade@cimb. Their staff are one of the slowest, incompetent, unhelpful people I've met.

There has already been 2 very serious breaches in my account, just from the mind boggling INCOMPETENCE of CIMB.

1) They credited into my account a cheque that was not directed to me.
Most banks won't clear a cheque if there are errors on the surface of the cheque, eg: wrong signature, an alphabet spelled wrong.
CIMB credited into my account a cheque that wasn't even directed at me. When I confronted them about it, they said "This mistake is because of the other bank, they shouldn't have released the money from their account". A cheque has to go through CIMB before it passes to the other bank, HOW IS IT THE OTHER BANKS FAULT WHEN YOU ARE THE ONE SENDING THE CHEQUE OVER??? When I asked them what can I do? They told me to just take the money out of my account and pass it over to the other person.
What.
The.
F UCK.

2)They WIRED additional funds from my personal account overseas without any authorization from me. THEY WIRED MY MONEY INTO AN OVERSEAS BANK BY ACCIDENT!!!!!! Thank god it was my own account, otherwise really bang balls.

The people in CIMB are just so f***ing incompetent, I can hardly believe they have the brains to breath.

But really, this just underscores the lack of security that is very prevelant in CIMB Banks, I'm closing my account with them tomorrow.

I urge everyone of you to do the same.

Someone take a look at Uchi Technologies, high dividend payout and very fast growing profits.

Their profit for the last 3 quarters have been growing for each quarter, the last 3 quarters gave 10 cents per share compared to around 8 cents for the preceding year.

If their profit for the next quarter increases again, they will be making around 15 cents per share for this year. That's a 100% increase from last year. Their management has stated that they expect sales to increase further this fiscal year.

80~90% of their NTA is pure cash. Profit margin is above 50%.

Their PE is around 10, not too great, but at this price their dividend yield is around 7.5%.

A 7.5% dividend yielding company thats got some serious growth in the future.
