not sure if this the right place to ask but i’ll ask anyway

lately had been a little stressful in both career and family. sometimes eyes just tear up at night silently for no reason, just heartache.

it’s been awhile since i last have some alone time, so was just thinking if anyone can recommend a good bar in penang or butterworth to pop in solo for a drink? didn’t have to be only open at night, daytime is fine too. but night probably better just to drop by to relax before going home to sleep

i was wondering, to be honest, i dont have any IT related education or programming knowledge, but i come into interest of developing app on mobile such as iOS and android. I have an simple idea of an app but not sure how to make it, was thinking to hire 3rd party developer to make it for me but not sure where or how to find.

if i am looking to hire people to make an app, anything i should be aware of?

or if i wanted to make it myself, for eg, simple Tetris game, how and where should i start my learning on it? is it programming language? certain software? etc?

I was wondering, what was the appropriate ringtone to use during work? i myself working in medical industry, so will be meeting client quite often in serious setting. halfway through discussion my phone rang from my room singging "my hump, my hump my hump my hump" by BEP. sometimes client jz chill but at times it can be embarrassing if u suggest me to use normal classic tone, IT'S BORING.

if you just work at your desk and not meeting any client, then any ringtone will do, many high level manager usually used classic tone and i told them its boring however those who meeting client always, what type of ringtone u use? do u think ringtone affect the outcome of your discussion? sometimes i jz wonder...

Nintendo Facing Investor Pressure to Bring Games to iPhone

Early this morning Bloomberg ran a story regarding the latest Nintendo 3DS price drop fiasco from a side that you don't often hear from: Investors. As you may recall from the last episode of this mobile gaming financial soap opera, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has remained vigilant insisting that as long as he is in charge Nintendo will only be making games for its own line of hardware.

Investors don't agree, especially as Nintendo stocks dip to six-year lows. Specifically, Masamitsu Ohki, a fund manager for a Tokyo-based investment management company explains: “Smartphones are the new battlefield for the gaming industry, Nintendo should try to either buy its way into this platform or develop something totally new.”

The best example of how badly investors want the big N to get involved in smartphone gaming came in early July when we caught wind of a potential Pokemon game coming to the iPhone. This caused Nintendo stock to rocket up the most it had in four months, although gains were quickly lost when Nintendo announced that it was not involved with this Pokemon release.

On this news, Japanese investment firm MF Global FXA Securities Ltd. released a note explaining that “They just don’t get it,” urging investors to sell Nintendo stock "because a management once feted for creative out-of-box thinking have just shown how behind the times they are.” Other financial megaminds are insisting that Nintendo use its $10b cash stockpile to acquire companies to help them position themselves better in the changing face of mobile gaming.

It remains to be seen what if any effect the 3DS price drop will have both on player adoption rates as well as Nintendo stock prices. While the system itself may be cheaper, a lower price point doesn't change the fact that consumers as a whole have gone cold on 3D, one of the main selling points of the system. Similarly, the 3DS software library is still as bleak as it ever was, with no respite on the horizon until Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 hit this holiday season, which seems like forever compared to the fast-paced world of the App Store where great games are released on a daily basis.

Most, if not all of us at TouchArcade grew up on Nintendo platforms and likely wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the NES, the SNES, and the market that Nintendo essentially forged out of the video game crashes of the late 70's and early 80's. It's sad to see a company losing their way, and I'm honestly not entirely sure how Nintendo's dedicated portable gaming devices and $40 games can compete in a world flooded with capable smartphones in hundreds of millions of pockets and enough 99¢ (and free) content available to last a lifetime.

I think we all knew the days of the dedicated portable gaming device were numbered, but I'm not sure any of us expected this would come so soon.

im 28y/o guy next year, same goes my gf. we've been together for almost 5yrs now, things has been going great and planning to get marry soon.

after years of work and running my biz, i manage to save up just enough now to cover a normal wedding expense. but i was thinking of expanding my biz further or invest in some other things since i save up hard so that i can use this money to earn more for future. The thing is i wouldn't know when can i save up another pot of money for wedding. i do not want to gf to wait too long either, over 30y/o is not that good for baby.

i don't have any idea now, though i have some time to think, maybe can get some advise here? career 1st then marry, OR marry 1st career later

just to peace our mind

recent years has been kind of disastrous, we got earthquake everywhere, flood, suicide, economy meltdown and so on. I've also seen several of our family and friends gets cancer, some still fighting, some just realize it and some lost the battle.

Even with such many things happening around, we're still working our ass off to get through the day, as economy itself is pressuring us to survive with all the increase in cost of living. We work hard to provide the best possible to our family. i even see some of them slept like only 3 hours a day without proper food and exercise. sometimes sick also do not dare to take MC, all they wanted was to make sure ppl around them have nothing less and catch up with economy. rat race.

So fellow /k/, take sometime to look around, spend time, talk and chat with family and friends, have enough rest as work will never finish, FOREVER. eat properly, have decent exercide, laugh, smile whatever. im only mid 20+ but i've seen many lives starting to leave me, and many more still move. suicide is stupidity.

so appreciate life and stay healthy

i recently got my new job in KL, been here for a month, i met this girl at office.

1st thing 1st, i have a gf at pg, we've been together for 3+ yrs, we argue on and off, quite serious mostly. Been arguing since last week, break-off possibility. so we chilled for fews day (no call/sms), contact her back ysterday, she's calm now, still loves me but hav a point of discussion which, what if we argue again and wanted to break for the 7/8th time, i foresee we'll fight again sooner or later...btw, both of us are 25s...she wanted to be with me still, so im not sure how to proceed...i loves her but this is not the way things should be...

i have this female colleague, its been quite a while since i have such entertaining communication with a girl, we joke, laugh, talk dirty stories, talk just about anything, somehow i do enjoyed my time, to some point, how i hope she was my gf. But, she hav a bf, and i hav my gf, if my gf get to know i have such entertaining time at work, another hell will break loose. I know my position and my colleague too, i hav to admit i do admire her to some point but there a limit to it, she din tell our situation to her bf too, guys will jealous oso ma.

i do hope to hav a step farther from good friend, not curang ok? so i wonder am i doing anything imappropriate? personally i felt its not very right, on the other hand, i see no harm to close a female friend if there's limit imposed
