Best thunderbolt hubs, any recommendations?

i'm looking for thunderbolt hubs, any recommendations?

im looking to connect external gpu, ultrawide monitor, standard monitor, 2 nas drives and speakers.

ive only come up with 3 options for this so far,

- OWC Thunderbolt dock or Thunderbolt 3 dock
- CalDigit TS3 Plus
- Dell Thunderbolt Dock – WD19TBS

but the TS3 plus is USD $55 in shipping which is madness as it doesnt include import duties yet.

so any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Home Studio Recommendation

Hi guys

I am looking to set up a simple studio in my home to shoot reviews. I am looking for your recommendations and advice on where & how to get started. The studio room has few windows and the view is mostly blocked by the lower level roof so i have little sunlight.

I am looking to do product reviews within the studio. From my research i have gathered you would need :-
For Medium/Cowboy shot
- lighting with softbox preferably 2
would i need to opt for the adjustable led bicolour ones? or would a adjustable singular colour one will do?
- tripod with fluidhead
as a tripod would be great but since shooting videos, it would be better to get one with a fluidhead so i can do smooth & stable video shots too.
- mic
would i need a shotgun mic attached to a boom pole for this or would the rode video micro suffice? im just having the camera across from me, separated by the coffee table which i will be doing the review on.
Overhead/Unboxing shot
so far i have found these two to be the most practical and adaptive rigs. Please do let me know what you think.

Recomended overhead rig

Hey guys,

i have been scouring youtube for some recommendations for overhead rig and i cant seem to find any that is at least compatible in Malaysia.
What i mean by that is that those recomended by youtubers are via Amazan through affiliated links can when combined with shipping. Can costs quite an amount.

So i am asking here for the sifus for help and recommendation for any set up for overhead rig. I plan to do some video of product reviews.

I game on my laptop now but its really frustrating to game with all settings set on low, and even then, it will lag a bit sometimes. When across from me, my SO games on Acer Predator Helios 500 with all settings on High and no lag at all.

I watched LTT’s youtube video and thought it would be a good idea to have a minimalist set up like this and decided to go for it.

So I sold my desktop and all it’s peripherals except the mouses for $2,000 and I’m contemplating on changing my laptop to a more gamer centric one. Albeit low-key gamer centric, enough to play League of Legends on high settings but design-wise, discrete enough that I could use it at the office.

I was initially looking at the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 but it does not come with Thunderbolt 3 port.

I did find a local alternative but I’m not sure its worth it. https://store.illegear.com/onyx-series/207-...r-onyx-pro.html This came with the same specs as the Aorus 15G WB at $8,450. I'm not opting Razer because they dont have after sales service here and to source one here is hard, plus at most. local resellers are giving 6 months warranty which is not worth in. IMHO, for the same specs they are overpriced. pretty but overpriced.

So what do you guys think for a laptop?

My requirements are
- has thunderbolt 3 port
- <2.5kg, better if its lighter than that
- screen 14 inch but i can adopt 15.6 inch laptops
- GPU 2060 or 2070. considering the 2070 is now occupying the 2060 price range and 2060 occupying the 1660TI price range.

side note, i only play league of legends and not FPS so i think a 100hz screen should be good. am i right?

Hey guys!
I’m looking for some suggestions into thinking if there is anything I can do improve the current set-up I had in mind for the long-term. It will be my last build as in a few years’ time I will have to settle into my big boy pants and become a responsible spender. I would like this build to last me through a long time as I’m looking to change the main component (laptop) as and when is needed.

That and because my SO sees having a desktop as a futile ‘have’ because I go often between her place and mine. My area has shit wi-fi coverage which means in game it lags, I can barely stream anything nor download anything unless I am willing to wait a couple of days for a movie. I only stay back in my place for my family. So most of the time, I am at hers and I game with her all the time on my laptop while I am at hers because the wifi is better and faster. So she sees this as a useless ‘have’.

I got a laptop because my previous job needed me to work on the go, and my boss gave me some schtick about venturing out and doing a business together based on the work I did for him. Which was marketing consultation for other restaurants like his own. So I thought it would be a full time job and I would need a proper laptop for work and not some janky one, most companies provide to their employees. I didn’t work in MNCs so I would normally get janky ones, at least in the places I worked. I didn’t meet my SO then, and I didn’t game as much. That’s what I had my desktop for. My laptop was purely work related stuff. After meeting my SO, all of that changed like in the second paragraph above.

Hey there guys, i'm a laptop noob and i am seeking the advice of all the sifus around.
Recently my car got broken into and my laptop bag got stolen along with my laptop.

I am looking for a replacement laptop and i am currently working with a 2012 macbook pro 13 inch at work given by my work place. but i am looking to leave my current workplace and my next workplace insists on using my own personal computer. i dont mind because it is a consultation gig so it is easier for me to use my own personal device than the slow ones given by each company i consult for.

I was initially looking at the 2019 macbook pro 13 inch but the price left me flabbergasted. the reason i looked at macbook is because the macbook ive been using at work is almost 7 years old now, since 2012. it was slow to open things up but after changing the hdd to sdd, the speed is considerably faster and it felt brand new to me, at least.

hence after some research, i have concluded that macbook is way above my budget. but do you think there are other alternatives that could probably last as long? is that possible?

my needs for my laptop is simple; microsoft office uses and light adobe photoshop and illustrator uses to make quick changes on the fly. maybe some movie and netflix watching but that's about it. nothing to strenuous.

Ive concluded with two options.

i plan to use the corner of a room as a studio to take pictures of some clothes on mannequins and just shoes. just basic product photography,
was thinking of using a white fabric background, 1 or 2 studio lights and my iphone x. i do have a canon 550d but editing on phone and uploading it to social media would be much faster and easier.
