Question on Asus Notebook Warranty

Hi all, I don't know where to post this so i guess the moderator has to assist in moving my enquiry to the right section.

Two weeks ago, I purchased an Asus notebook from a retailer in lowyat plaza. After payment in full, I asked for the warranty card but they tell me that their company's receipt is good enough and Asus no longer uses warranty card. My question is whether they are telling me the truth or I just bought an underwater notebook from them? Can anyone help clarify?

Problem with notebook's internet connection

Hi all, I just bought a used notebook from a forumner here today and I've been trying to get online via my wireless home network but something is wrong.

The notebook shows that it's connected to my home wireless network @ 54mbps and signal strength is good but when I start the internet browser, it can't connect. however, once in many many attempts, the website manages to load very very slowly but when i click on a link (e.g. yahoo), it gives me the standard 404 error message.

Initially I thought it was my home's wireless internet connection was slow but I realized it is not so when I switched on my desktop and another notebook and managed to get online very efficiently.

So I thought that maybe the notebook's operating system is corrupted so I totally clean re-installed XP and re-installed the notebook's drivers but faced the same problem.

Naturally, I then would suspect something could be wrong with the 801.11g wireless notebook's adaptor so I plug in a wireless adapter and installed the driver to it but I still face the same problem.

I am totally at a lost at what could possibly be wrong. Can anyone help me out?

Would really appreciate all your assistance as it is my hard earned money .

Pls help. thanks.

Powerpoint Experts! help needed!

hi people,

I need help for two powerpoint issues.

1) how to incorporate one music file (format? MP3 can?) into the 'entire' presentation? I tried attaching an MP3 file using the insert function and a sound icon appeared in the 1st slide. when i went to slideshow mode, the music starts in the first slide but ends when i go to the subsequent slides. then i tried inserting the sound icon into every slide but the music starts from the beginning all over again for each and every slide. I need advice on how to play one 'entire' music file throughout all the slides.

2) autoplay? i have received emails that just contain powerpoint files that the moment i click it, it immediately goes to slideshow. how do i do that? cos the powerpoint presentations that i make do not automatically go to slideshow format. instead, the powerpoint programme launches and the i got to click slideshow then only it starts. I have also tried to convert to CD which auto play but after conversion, many files would appear in a folder and also has the autoexec.bat & powerview.exe. I need to email powerpoint presentations in a single file that automatically goes into slideshow view when people download and click it. how do i do it? most of the pps files that comes in emails, just download, click the file and it automatically goes to slideshow.

hope someone can teach me as i need it for work purposes. thanks in advance
