A good location to work in KL

Hello, I'm in the process of searching for a reliable place/office for company operation in KL (in before 'do not open office in KL, high cost, traffic jam etc etc').

I opened this thread to scout around few good areas in KL for our office (no we don't sell things as in shop. Just office work) and hope the people working in this forum around KL would share their office location/area and what makes you hate or like that place. I can see a potential thread for office seekers in here (I did a search and come with no result, so if there is an existing thread please kindly point me to it. Thanks) or maybe it will become a 'discussion' thread on why your workplace/area is better than the rest

I don't mind if you want to include traffic jam report or it's high rent, since more details is always welcome, it will prove in handy for me to decides the place. You can leave an advice or suggestion, and also thanks for any insight or advice

Access point and wireless router

I don't think I should create a topic on this, but I can't seem to find a similar topic to ask.

I'm currently planning to make my home network wireless, but since I currently have all the components needed (from my LAN) switch/hub, modem and router, I think I just need to add an access point wired to my switch/hub.

So here I am looking through the price lists looking for access point and felt kinda weird with the price. Why is the access point (with no other functions like router/modem) was priced much higher than a basic wireless router? Take for example, Dlink DI-524 (wifi router) is priced at rm150, while LinkSys WAP54G (wifi access point only) is priced at rm220. If want to compare with dlink itself, dlink 21000ap (access point) is priced at rm260, but that model speed is 108Mbps, higher than the di-524. Even cutting the price half (rm130) makes the price just only rm20 cheaper than the router. Anyway I don't think I can find dlink access point with 54Mbps now right?

Then on the next day, I went to my friend's shop and he said he bought a 3Com wifi router at rm200++ while the 3Com access point is rm300++

Are these access point have some kind of 'special power' that justifies the higher price mark? So I'm here to learn about why this is happening, and also a recommendation on what I should get/suitable.. According to my logic, I only need an access point.. but the price makes me go Hope someone can help clarifies, thanks

Accessing other subnets

Hello, need some help here from networking experts.

How do I access other ip range from a different ip range? I got 1 pc with 2 network card, each with different subnets (I don't know if I should put them in different subnets/ip range) Illustration follows.

CODE

+----------------+
|    Server      |=== NIC #1 === 10.0.0.1 ------> modem (10.0.0.2)
+----------------+
      ||
    NIC #2
      ||
192.168.1.1 -----> pc1 (192.168.1.2)
      |
pc2 (192.168.1.3) etc

So, let's say I'm using pc2, and want to access my modem (without accessing the server), how do I do that? As far as I know, I can't access the other network from 192.168.1.x network. Need to do routing, but what should I do? It's a hassle to login to my server first before can access my modem page. Can I just simply change the nic#1 and my modem to use the ip from 192.168.1.x range?

Thanks for any advice.

Darkness and Light

Hay guys. Jus want to share this *new* online game (did a search, but no result here). Launched on 2nd of April globally by Game&Game. So far I only played just to get the feelings of the game. The game is more the same with the infamous W3:Dota, with some extra.

Website - http://global.onlinedal.com/

Game Summary

QUOTE

DAL - "Darkness and Light" is a PvP Strategy Siege Game. In this game, you can choose a character and raises him a battlefield hero by repelling the enemies with strong weapons and magic skills. Ultimately, it aims to conquer the base camp of the opponent. The concept of DAL is based on the final war between the power of the dark and the light, and the world view and the atmosphere of the Middle Ages as well as the characters and UI are adopted to the Isometric view (Quarter view) like RTS.

Not much I can say about this except it is very 'dota wannabe' game. Quite a heavy game (graphic wise) - my notebook runs dota flawlessly, but this game got some 'laggy' feeling in it (not because of internet connection - just graphic, ie. quite slow). Got rain effect too (lol. laughable).

About gameplay, heroes are plenty, along with their numerous skills with an ulti skill, and with numerous items that can be combine/duplicate. U got an inventory slots and equip slot. Equip slot is the normal slot we see in dota (6 slot), whilst inventory slot is a slot for item we pick up or buy (12 slot). Just make sure to drag the item you want to use to the equip slot lol.. I died trying to drink pots placed in inventory (didn't notice the slot purpose, noob!).

Then there's this 'personal item' type - in which you can buy (using gold u got from match) and bring in that item to another match. Also there is a 'character card' in which you buy the card so that you can use the character in match. There's also a dishonor points if you leave game.

Originally it's a korean game and still new i guess - lots of stuff that can be improved and fixed. Some screens below (from other players in the game)

Those interested just need to check the website and forums. I'm just sharing it here to spread the words
