"Avoir le cafard" = To have the cockroach

It's doesnt mean that you are full of cockroaches ( eww) but it means that you feel depressed . Example : Aujourd'hui, j'ai le cafard, çà ne va pas très bien " ( today I'm not very well, I feel blue)

This expression was first used by Baudelaire in “Les Fleurs du Mal” in 1857 and has been quite popular ever since.

It refers to those negative thoughts that settle inside your mind, as the cockroaches settle in the dark place of the house.

Any expression here in Malaysia using cockroaches ???

This idiom is commonly used in its present form since the nineteenth century. The term "cochon" ( pig) is borrowed from the old French "Socon", itself derived from the Latin "Socius" which means "companion".

In France we actually have a lots of Idiom using the pig !! I don't know why , it is so dirty haha

Mold keep coming back on wall

Hello everyone

So I have this problem in my master room,the walls are less and less white and mold are growing.

I have tried to wash it all with a mold product , and drying everything nicely but it doesnt fix the problem . Room is ventilated but I don't have direct sunlight and no aircon as well.

So I was thinking probably the paint is pretty bad quality, I want to repaint the whole room with a glossy paint, which would be easier to clean also .

What do you guys think about it ?
