Hi,

Is there any Maxis Fibre user having trouble accessing Twitter yesterday and today?

I have no issue accessing other website except for Twitter if using my fibre line.

And also, I have no issue accessing twitter from the same device if using 4g line (Maxis and Celcom). Only have trouble when connecting using my maxis fibre through wifi.

Tq
Hi,

I saw a maxis Zerolution plan for ipad here at https://www.maxis.com.my/devices/brands/apple/apple-ipad/

My question is, whether the I'm able to use hotspot with the data plan? And if yes, will there any limit other than the current data limit (10gb / 5gb) they offered? I couldn't find anything about it in the ToS.

Thanks

Maxis Biz not available but Maxis Home Fibre avail

Hi,

I intend to subscribe Maxis Fibre for my office but was told by the agent that Maxis Fibre for business is not available at my area but Maxis Home Fibre is available. I think it's quite weird because if Maxis Home Fibre is available, Maxis Business must be available too. Or is it normal?

4g LTE Router for maxis

Hi,

Im planning to buy a router for my maxis sim card but I don't know which modem supported by maxis. How to know whether the modem can support maxis sim card or not?

I have several in mind, such as this TP link modem:

http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat..._TL-MR6400.html

and this is another one from Asus:

https://www.asus.com/Networking/4G-AC55U/

I need a modem with a router capability with LAN port as Im using it for my office.

Thanks.

Router with WAN Ethernet + LTE below RM600

Hi,

Can anyone recommend me any good router that support WAN Ethernet and 4G LTE? I want to use it on Unifi or Maxis Fibre as my main and 4G LTE as a backup.

And if possible can do bandwidth management too. For example I want to create a public free wifi with limited speed and another private line for my office use.

I was eyeing this TP link model:

http://www.tp-link.com/ph/products/details..._TL-MR3420.html

But I afraid it can't support Unifi/Maxis or any 4G LTE in Malaysia...

Thanks guys...

Hi, as per title. I'm planning to subscribe a Maxis Home Fibre for my office. Currently we are using streamyx business plan. Due to the non availability of Maxis Business Fibre in our office area, the agent recommend me to subscribe for Maxis Home Fibre but I need to use my personal name. I want to know whether this is correct? Is it possible to do that?

Penang Ferry Time

Hye, I want to know whether the Penang Ferry time table at this website is still reliable?

http://www.travel-penang-malaysia.com/penang-ferry.html

QUOTE

The first ferry departure from Butterworth is at 05.20 am.
The last is at 00.40 am.

The first ferry departure from Penang Island is at 05.40 am.
The last is at 01.00 am.

The Penang ferry runs roughly every 20 minutes (You never have to wait too long) and takes about 15 minutes to cover the 3km distance.

After 10pm, there are less ferries, with just one departure every 40 minutes.

Because I want to catch a train at Butterworth station at 7am, so I really need to arrive Butterworth before that.

Is the earliest ferry really 5.40? Will I make it on time before 7am? or is there any alternative from me? I dont mind paying more (reasonable fare ) as long as I can arrive Butterworth on time...

I will be staying at Bayview hotel if that helps...

thank you in advance.

P1 shutting down their tower in my area

I am really pissed with P1 right now. Last week my internet connection became unusual slow (it's even impossible to load Google website). So I thought they might be doing some upgrade or whatnot. But until this week, even now, the speed is still not recovered to normal speed. So I contacted them via their chat at their website.

To my surprise, after telling them my problem, their only reason that they are shutting down one of the tower in my area due to major technical problem and it cant be restored back to normal. They are suggesting me to terminate my account if I want faster internet access.

You see, I really have no problem if they are telling me this earlier. Now due to sudden slowdown, I couldn't do my work at home and some other problem. I'm really sad with P1 as I'm can be considered as their loyal customer, and I've been with them nearly 4 years. I like their portability factor that I can bring my modem everywhere I go because sometimes I go for outstation.

Now I have to find other ISP within my budget (below RM110) and go back to the hassle of terminating my account and return back the modem to them.

Is anyone experience this from P1? I can see the reply from their twitter like they are doing this to several areas also.

Shud stay with P1 or change to streamyx?

Hello,

I'm in dilemma now since my P1 contract is finishing in 2 months, because P1 offers unlimited plan now with the price of RM99, RM1 cheaper than Streamyx 1MB plan that I can get (I'm a student, so I may apply for streamyx student package which is RM100 per month).

Before this I'm quite satisfied with my P1 plan for it's stability (unless when raining sumtimes it get disconnected), speed (1MB) and portability. My only dissatisfaction is the quota system~ I felt very restricted!

So how guys? do you think I shud change to streamyx? At first I confirm already want to change to streamyx, because really mad with the quota system but since P1 was acquired by TM, I think the company will improve soon (hope so ), plus I don't want the extra cost and hassle for changing my provider. But then, with P1, there will be 24 months contract~~

p/s: I'm not a heavy user, no need for ultra fast internet but I really need unlimited quota plan, I don't like the feeling of being restricted~

Malaysia is better in throttling the internet than

Is Your ISP Messing With BitTorrent Traffic? Find Out

For more than a decade Internet providers have slowed down BitTorrent transfers for traffic management purposes. Today we look at fresh data from the Google-backed Measurement Lab, which provides new insight into the BitTorrent throttling practices of ISPs all over the world. The data show that many ISPs still interfere with file-sharing traffic, but to varying degrees.

throttlingHundreds of ISPs all over the world limit and restrict BitTorrent traffic on their networks. Unfortunately, this is something that most of these companies are quite secretive about.

Thanks to data collected by Measurement Lab (M-Lab) the public is now able to take a look at the frequency of these BitTorrent throttling practices. Among other tools, M-Lab runs the Glasnost application developed by the Max Planck Institute.

At TorrentFreak we have been keeping an eye on the changes in BitTorrent meddling among ISPs around the world, and today’s data is the latest installment. The throttling percentages for various countries and ISPs are based on M-Lab tests that were performed between December 2012 and December 2013.

Looking at the list of countries where at least 100 tests were performed, South Korea (74%), Malaysia (61%) and Singapore (53%) come out on top. Poland is the first European country with 35%, quickly followed by the UK with 28%.

Greece and Romania stand out in a positive sense, as only 7% and 9% of the tested BitTorrent connections were limited. The United States, Canada and Australia perform relatively well too, with throttling rates of 14%, 17% and 18% respectively.

read more: https://torrentfreak.com/is-your-isp-messin...ind-out-140123/

inb4, slowpoke

Hello,

I want to ask about any ISP in Malaysia that provide good upload speed bcoz I'm working with a lot of pictures and I also want to used a cloud storage to backup files (most of them is a family video, so some of them is quite big).

Well, I tried to check some of their websites, but most of them didn't mention about upload speed. So I want to know which ISP provide good upload speed that worth the money.

I prefer streamyx, unifi and P1 bcoz others is not covering my place. if 3G broadband also can.

Black spot on the image~

Master, Sifus, help~

I noticed some black spot to the image I captured this morning, izzit fungus or what? example (hope you guys can notice it):

I kept my gears in drybox (Karakka type). But sometimes, when sleeping at night, I'm using aircond, so will it effect the gears?

And I hadn't used my camera for nearly 2 weeks, due to my busy life schedule~huhu. could it cause the fungus to grow?

And how do I know where is the fungus? I have checked/cleaned the filter, and try to shot without the filter, still the spot visible. However, sometimes, when I get the correct focus, the black spot is not visible~see some example below where the black spot are not visible~

Hope anyone can help me~huhu. I'm afraid it's the sensor having the prob~huhu
