The screen is very nice, to be honest, I would say best 3K ("4K" through Hardware Upscale) screen of any 15" on the market currently. Surface of MacBook Pro is very good as it is in a Speck case. Keyboard, etc. is in very good condition. I believe you will be impressed when you inspect in person. The Speck casing of course is in used condition because it has been busy protecting the MacBook Pro

Reason for sale:
Mainly, I need a "gaming laptop" for Daz3D Nvidia IRay rendering... and games of course.

I used to work in Machines KL several years ago. I am ~not~ affiliated with them as I left in 2011. I am knowledgeable about Mac and would like this to go to a good home and I can direct you accordingly if you have any inquiries. In Mac OS X, the screen as I understand is always running at 3K Native 2880x1800 pixels. OS X works best in it's "HiDPI" Retina mode, which is how the Retina iPhones and iPads work.

But as below you have the following options, for example, using System Preferences (official way) or Retina Display Menu (non-official way), and the Mac will upscale/ downscale/ smooth accordingly:

Hi all,

Firstly to clarify I am not affiliated with F-Secure. I just thought I'd share.

So I've been trying the F-Secure "Freedome" VPN. So far I must say it's been quite good. One-click "on" and "off" and the locations offered are quite good.

It's a Finnish company so I'm not 100% convinced they're perfect but at least it's not US-based. There's several locations to choose from and you can switch anytime.

Here's the interesting thing. If you are on Unifi 4mbit you may find much better speeds when choosing, say, Singapore or Hong Kong as the VPN exit point. It's as though the web requests are "chunked" and the DNS resolution faster, etc.

Cost-wise I understand there are cheaper options and local options such as BolehVPN.

What are your thoughts on VPN services?
