Is Anyone ever working Working with ID Company?

Hi everyone,

Is any member of this forum ever working with ID Company for House or Condo renovation?
In my case, I have engaged the ID company to design and perform a renovation works of our new home.
After a few discussion they provided to us the quotation and they will only start the 3D design after confirmation which translates to 30% payment of the quoted project value.
In my thinking, the 3D design has to be done and agreed to make the quotation certain to prevent any misunderstandings/misinterpretation.
Communicated with them already and they said this is a company policy to have upfront commitment prior to starting any works.
I know that this company has a good reputation in the market, however, I am not familiar with this kind of things.

Do you mind to share the following :

1. Is it normal/common practice here in Kuala Lumpur to sign the work contract prior to 3D design?

2. Any hint about the things need to be scrutinized prior to making any commitment?

my point here, I wanted to perform the project with mutual benefit and trust. However, I wanted to protect myself as well if any potential dispute along the way.

Anyone ever uses Qanvast apps platform to find the ID and contractor?

Would you please share the experience? pros and cons?

As of now, many poor stories I heard from friends regarding contractor hunting through Kaodim where many unreliable contractors provide very poor services to the homeowner.

Appreciate your advice and sharing.
