Hi guys,

Recently interested to get myself a tablet that can make calls like a normal handphone, I know there are the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but would like to have a 10 inch screen if possible (needed for my line of work).

The salesperson told me the Samsung Note 10.1 LTE can make calls like a usual handphone. Is this true?

iPad slideshow app

Hi guys & gals,

It has come to my attention that the iPad has the ability to be connected to an external display / projector via a special VGA connector.

The connection should be easy, but I m having trouble finding a suitable app to make a proper PHOTO SLIDESHOW (with music).
After much reading and googling, the best app I found was Apple's own KEYNOTE app. But I must say the reviews I found for the app was generally horrible, especially when it is priced at $9.99. The other closest thing is probaly the original Photos app, which comes wif de iPad. But that also lacks the option to export the slideshow to any other video format.

Would greatly appreciate anyone who has experience with Keynote or anyone who knows a suitable app to make professional looking photo slideshows.

Looking for a good camera bag and basically found these 2 to fit my basic needs, but would to hear some opinions from u all as to which is better. I personally saw the whickey & cox, but not the compu primus.

My personal criterias:
1) Laptop compartment.
2) space for 2 bodies, 3 to 4 lenses + flash.
3) Isn't too ugly.
4) Budget RM400-500.

Open for sling suggestions also.

Lightscribe DVD writer

Interested in getting a lightscribe DVD writer.
Checked the pricelists of PC Zone, Cycom & C-Zone and only managed to find LiteOn & LG with this option.

LG with lightscribe (RM229)
LiteOn (lightscribe with adaptor) RM240 <---what the heck does it mean? Means I need to buy a different adaptor to get lightscribe?

Both are external writers. Good for me coz I can use it on both my laptop & desktop. But would the performance of the writer/lightscribe be better if it were internal?

Let me know also if you guys have other recommendations for lightscribe or any media writer that can label DVDs.

Keeping your laptop running...

Hi all~!

Have a question here....
Is it possible to keep the laptop in running mode even with the LCD closed?
What I meant isn't letting the LCD go into power-save mode, what I meant is physically closing the LCD towards the keyboard.
I am noticing a bit of dust and hair collecting on my lappy's keyboard so am curious whether it is possible to set the laptop to ignore the LCD closing and just keep running like normal (maybe just power-save the LCD).
I think by default, once you close your LCD, the laptop goes into sleep or hibernate mode.

For those who know, please do share your experience!

Personally, I love pre-rendered cinematics or CG in games.
While playing a lot of games, I very much look forward to cutscenes.

Well, here's the question.....

"Which pre-rendered game cinematic / CG would you vote as THE BEST if you had to choose ONLY ONE?"

Take note of the "only one" rule here.

My personal vote as BEST game cinematic so far would go to "Final Fantasy VIII's opening cinematic".
The way the opening cinematic unfolds had me drop my jaw the 1st time I saw it.
Still remember clearly how Squall and Seifer dueled it out in the training grounds, the sound of their gunblades clashing....
And the opening soundtrack, Liberi Fatali still had me hooked until now.

Garmin GPS on N85

Hi all,

My gf just bought a new Nokia N85 (AP) and it seems we are having some troubles installing the Garmin GPS software for the hp.

We installed it as instructed but after restarting, the software doesn't seem to load.
Opening the software from the applications icon will only end in dead silence.

Please let know what can be done, or if there are any sites I can read on this issue.
Any help is most welcome!

BenQ S33W Problems

Hi all,

I just bought a new BenQ S33W from Melaka's PC Fair.
The packaged comes with Linux OS only and so I wanted to format it and reinstall Windows XP.
But then I encountered the horrific "blue error screen" when trying to install XP.
The error message shows problems writing to "0x0000007B (0x78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)".

So I tried installing Vista and even Vista couldn't install onto the laptop.
I am fearful that the HDD might be the source of the problem....

Anybody encountered such an issue b4?
PLease help~!

Best Looking Game Ever...

Hi all~!

Just curious as to which game you guys believe to be the "best looking game" you've ever played?
I m guessing names like Crysis, Bioshock to turn up quite often....
Personally, I find the Witcher: Enhanced Edition to be quite an eye candy game.
The sights in Tomb Raider: Underworld are pretty good too~!
Though I find Red Alert 3 a bit tad cartoonish.

Lara.....looking better and better

Looks a bit cartoonish, but still a lot of fun to play.

Hope to see some other opinions on their fav looking games~!
And do post some screen shots~!

Hong Kong Vacation 2008

Hi all~!!
Will be travelling to Hong Kong this coming weekend so I had the urge to write something here about my experiences with my trip, as a simple reading pleasure, as well as a guide for those who are interested to travel to Hong Kong.

So, there would be 4 of us going (me, my dear, my junior & her bf).
The duration of the trip will be 8 days 7 nights.
Booked our tickets with MAS more or less 3 months ago.
Planned for it to be an anniversary surprise for my dear, but I guess I am just not good at keeping secrets....hahahah....

Went to change our RM to HK$ during the weekend b4 the flight.
The rate dropped since we checked last week.
Our country's economy really isn't doing well.....
Exchange rate was 0.457 (in Muar).

Are PC monitors HD ready?

Hi guys,

Need a little help here understanding what is the difference between a HD monitor and our old school monitors.
My fren told me there is something called "HD monitors" (for PCs) on the market, but I thought most PC monitors were ALREADY HD to begin with given the amount of pixels our monitors can display.

So the big question is really whether our existing PC monitors like my old school Samsung SyncMaster 793DF is "HD ready" or do I need to invest in a new HD monitor to actually play HD stuff??

RAW conversion

Hi all~!
Need some help here on the topic of RAW files.
I currently own a Lumix LX3 which has RAW recording capabilities.
I just took a few RAW files recently and used the provided software (silkypix) to view the RAW files.
But now I wish to do PP on the files with CS3, the problem is CS3 can't open the RAW files (*.RW2).

So my questions are:
1) Do you need to save the RAW files in a different format (*.jpg) for PP?
2) How do you save it into other formats?
3) What other softwares can PP RAW files?

Noob to PP here, so all your advice are much appreciated

Problems with Windows drive designation

Good day everyone~!

I have some problems with my PC and I don't really know what to do. It all started when I installed 2 hard drives into my PC. 1 IDE and 1 SATA. Apparently my IDE drive was set to master and when i installed windows to my PC, I did not want it to b in my old hard drive therefore i installed it into my D drive which is my SATA hdd. Since then i have removed my ide hdd and the only drive left is my SATA hdd.
Now the problem comes when I want to format my drive. When i boot into the windows CD, it gives me the message that "No hard disk has been detected" and it asks me to press F3 to quit. Even though the screen b4 the windows cd boot it clearly shows that my SATA drive is detected.

The situation now for what i know is that the boot system doesn't recognise my drive bcoz it is now designated as D:. Is there any way to change it to C:? Or does anyone know how to solve this kind of situation? I am having alot of problems with my current installation of windows that's why i need to format it now. Plz help and thanks a million in advance!

Bluetooth Handsfree Development

Hie everyone,

Urgently need help on my final year project. The title of my project is "Bluetooth for Vehicles" and what i am trying to do is to write a program using Java to program my PC (windows XP sp2) connected to a Bluetooth USB dongle to automatically establish a handsfree link between the PC and anyone mobile phone with Bluetooth capabilities within its operating radius.

So far I have managed to find source codes for service and device discoveries using Java but not the handsfree part i mentioned above. A good source i found was www.benhui.net. Anyone with the expertise in Bluetooth or Java please help by posting source codes or reference web sites that match my needs or could pottentially help. Thanx everyone~!
