Stop using replacement Note7?

Saw this when I woke up and called Samsung Malaysia, they said that it's a US announcement, so we should wait for the Malaysian side to announce. Then I asked if our devices are still safe to use and they said yes.

Samsung Will Ask All Global Partners to Stop Sales and Exchanges of Galaxy Note7 while Further Investigation Takes Place
on October 11, 2016

We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.

We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available.

OFFICIAL RELEASE HERE

Now I wish I didn't spend money on the Otterbox and screen protectors. Now I'm just hoping that they miraculously found that it's just a software issue causing the battery to explode... or worst case just take the phone back gracefully.

8mb to 100mb TIME Fibre upgrade

Hi guys, I'm really happy to have gotten the free upgrade from 8mb to 100mb from TIME, but I've only gotten 20mb to 30mb when I speedtest. NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING since it's pretty good for already, but just wondering if I would need a better modem or router to take advantage of the 100mb speed.

Currently the one I'm using from TIME which is 2 years old:
- Cisco Linksys e1200
- Hwawei EchoLife HG8240 GPON Terminal (GEM port mapping mode: VLAN, 802.1p, VLAN+ 802.1p, IPToS, physical port, physical port+ VLAN, physical port+802.1p, physical port+VLAN+802.1p)

My Questions:
1. Is it good enough for 100mbps or should I get a new modem/router?
2. If I need a new router, which model you recommend? (my apartment is small so I don't need a powerful signal)
3. Is anyone actually getting 100, 300 and 500mb speeds?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Cost-Effective DIY office server

Hi all, I'm venturing into a startup and am in need of a public server (not sure about the terminology) to allow multiple coms to store and access files from.

Requirements:
- wirelessly accessible with password by multiple computers.
- decent transfer speeds (not sure about the norm here, but the faster the better)
- at least 4tb of storage space
- newbie friendly (none of us are familiar with networking beyond the simple layman stuff)
- within an RM2k budget, but the lesser the better

*Side note
I actually have a WD MyCloud http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1140 but it's transfer speeds are way too slow (about 3mbps) - is it because it transfers data via wifi? can I upgrade my modem/router to make it work until we have more money to get a better system?

Many thanks in advance and pardon my noobness.

Glass Screen Protector

So I dropped my phone on the road and I think my glass screen protector saved my Note 4's screen from cracking (I'm using a Versus Iron Sheild cover now):

I circled a small chip in red - that just happened from keys in my pocket I think.

This glass protector cost me RM60 and I'm thinking of replacing it. Thing is, I've never had cracks from very rough use and a lot of dropping w my previous iPhone 3, 4 and Galaxy S4 that used basic rubber covers and rm10 screen protectors. So I'd like to know if it's worth investing in another glass protector or would a traditional screen protector suffice?

Care to share a similar experience?

Looking E-Commerce tool/brand

Hi, I'm looking for an e-commerce tool (not sure what to call it) for a Wordpress website that I created using GoDaddy's web builder. It's a simple site that I want to allow people to purchase stuff from, but the free one offered can't do transactions in ringgit (only USD and other currencies). I'd like to know if anyone can recommend something that a noob can easily apply and use. Something trusted and convenient.

I don't mind outsourcing this eventually, but for now it may not be cost effective at the moment since most of the purchases will not be done with this method.

A thousand thanks in advance

Replacing BD drive with SSD

Hi, I'm using an ASUS N56VZ, it's running on Ivy Bridge and is rather slow, and I'm aware that I can swap my Blu Ray drive for an SSD. I've got some questions that I hope you can help me with:

1) Will it affect my original Windows license?
2) To what extent can I copy everything I have on C: over to the SSD without the risk of losing my settings? (the reason why I'm asking this is because I will need to plan carefully as I don't really have time to reinstall and arrange all my files)
3) Does adding an SSD normally significantly increase power consumption? (I rarely use my BD rom)

Thank you

Galaxy Note 4 GPS issue

Hi, I'm facing problems with my Galaxy Note 4's GPS. I use Waze a lot in a mildly tinted sedan, but I can only seem to get GPS if I hold it up towards the steering wheel's level. Place it any lower and it completely loses the GPS signal. But my wife's iPhone 6 doesn't seem to have that problem at all.

*also I would like to add that I'm not using a phone holder because I have not found a suitable one for my car, and I don't want to stick one to the windscreen due to my bad experience with dropping (as the suction rubbers dry up because I park my car under the sun most of the time) and stubborn stains from the rubber suction.

Is it a normal Note 4 issue that you guys are facing to or is it just my phone?

Anyone using Note 5 with similar issues?

Wondering if I should upgrade to a Note 5 so would like to hear your opinions on this. TQ
