"Need or Want, It Doesn't Matter"
It is a store in Australia selling fashion clothes, if not mistaken. Then, there is a sign board written with "Need or Want, It Doesn't Matter". Is it marketing propaganda?

What do you think?
Suddenly wonder why every computer will stop waiting for response and give you a "timeout error".
In programming world, there IS threshold for the timeout, say 30 seconds.
It must be human nature to lose patience, and so is the computer whose designer was the human ourselves!

Symbian OS and EPOC OS

Oh, well, the Symbian OS has gone.....

Let me tell its history. Symbian OS 6.0 predecessor was EPOC 5.0, the OS of Psion UK palmtops (Revo, 5mx, netBook, Workabout). Symbian S60 first phone unveiled in Malaysia was Nokia 7650 around year 2001/2002? We worked with Nokia Malaysia and every Nokia 9210 Communicator was bundled with Malaysian financial calculator. (The company had closed down its business years later) Or, do you remember SeleQ, RemindMe, myList....form Ximplify.com? It was owned by Malaysian and those C++ compiled application were developed by Malaysian too. I left the company when Nokia 3650 was unveiled.

Not heard of Psion / EPOC? The HQ shut its consumer market in 2003. I still remember Pineapple gadget shop was one of the Psion palmtop dealer. We use OPL to develop the mobile application.

Neither EPOC nor Symbian survived.

Hugi Size Coding Competition

What is it all about? (excerpt from Wikipedia)

The Hugi staff also hosts a popular series of online Assembler programming and size-optimizing contests called “Hugi Size Coding Competition”. The objective is to implement a given program using as little space as possible. This results in executable files with a size of far less than one kilobyte. Since 1998, 29 competitions have been held so far. The number of participants per contest is usually 20 - 80. Participants come from virtually all over the world (North America, Europe, East Asia, South Africa, Australia,...). Every contestant gets points depending on the size of their entry. After each competition, the entries are released together with source codes, and a discussion in a mailing list occurs in which objections regarding the validity of the entries can be made. The authors of invalid entries will get penalty. Once a year, a "world league table" is generated in which the points from all contests held in that year have been added together.

------

Not many Malaysian are aware of it.

There were participants from South East Asia too (Singapore, Malaysia).

FYI, 'skizofrenia' is Malay for schizophrenia, a chronic mental illness.

As a volunteer or social worker at nursing home, and being a schizophrenic myself, I promote mental health awareness among the general public. So you get the ideas of vision and mission.

The site also links to a Chinese-language message board discussing mental health.

Welcome to SKIZOFRENIA.NET

One-way flight

Well, for some reason, I might schedule flight one-way for my next trip to Australia.
It seems to me a lot of overstayers from Malaysia work illegally in Australia.
I wonder if the Australian immigration looks up its database for 'length of stay' of every tourist (though I remember passenger would need to fill in this column 'proposed length of stay' as part of their declaration).

so, the question is: will I be denied from entering Australia if I held a one-way flight ticket?

Any ideas anyone?

Am referring to 'Your English is fantastic, what does it really mean'. it was reported by someone then deleted.
I have to be clear that I love Australia and English as well as Apple. No offense intended. While the post was truthful, I couldn't deny it might have cuase misunderstanding, and possibly tension among these parties and their rivals. Yes, I accept the strict moderation. Keep up the good work, buddies.

"Your English is fanstastic"

I encountered issues with iPad while on holiday in Australia. So I rang the Apple Australia up.
Obviously my broken English made me uneasy, though the customer care executive bore with me patiently and spoke slowly. (I couldn't turn the iPad on, and I was told to make hard reset. Here's the trick, hold power button and press home button simultaneously)

Somewhere near the end of conversation, I apologized to her for my bad English.

Me: Sorry for my English.

Apple Customer Care: Your English is fantastic.....(and she went on) If you still can't turn on the iPad with hard reset, fantastic! (then she referred me to nearby Apple store)

You have got a better picture of it?!

Am I still eligible for 2nd low-cost apartment?

From what I understand, there is a restriction from government imposed on 2nd-time buyer-- is it true?

Money Changer and Foreign Bank

I couldn't find a similar thread on this forum, so here's the new topic.

Does money changer need my proof of identity if I convert a large sum of foreign notes?
How much is the limit?

Will the Malaysian government know my banking activity at foreign bank overseas?
(I would need to tell the foreign bank my country of residence and tax submission)

(Now, this sounds even fishy.... )

If I ever remit the money back from overseas to Malaysia, will that somehow raise an alarm to relevant authorities?

EDIT: Corrected the term 'money changer'.
