I am seeking software musicians expertise ...

Greetings fellow fair citizens of kopitiam,

I am seeking advice and opinion on which music software to buy for this summer sale. As some may have known I posted a new game my team of small developer had made call "lazy necromancer" in play store and since then it has been climbing on the charts gaining popularity by the day. We have been using unity engine and aseprite for art. As our content grow older we kept dropping free assets to keep things fresh and as a token of appreciation for those whom had support us.

I recently have pick up interest in making my own music to include them in the list of free content for the game, but since I have no music background and I have no prior knowledge in which software is easy to pick up and make something decent out of it I once again seek advice/opinion on which software I should take a look.

I could have buy all the software and test them all out but that would be a waste in value diving in blind.

I have bump into a few software my self and here is a list of them.

First up is 1BITDRAGON ...... its very "fruity loop" like and it seems to have decent reviews. The sound is pretty around my ball park but I am not sure if there are a lot of other instrument or not to play with. Doesn't look too complex yet provide a lot of learning space.

1BITDRAGON

Next up is Rytmik Studio. It looks pretty modern and robust which had high potential but I am kind of confuse with their pricing as their loyalty bundle include everything (old and new version) and cheaper then if you only buy the latest pack + dlc. I have also heard conflicting reviews on their policy and EULA where their statement on who is owning the IP is not crystal clear as there are element that suggest they reserve the right to use and modify your music as the same right you could use their premade music to modify for your own. As a developer I shunt uncertainty and would not want to taint our team's game with any potential legal issue so I would really like to know if anyone had bought this software and use them for commercial use before.

Rytmik Studio

Third discovery is lovely composer, it has the aesthetic and nostalgic build to it that is seemingly a good option for the game since bit music sort of pair with pixel for a very long time. Usage seems easy enough for beginners and note options are plentiful. Need more feedback from anyone that might have used this before to build my own evaluation.

Lovely Composer

There are a lot of other option I have not explore yet, but due to the fact I am starting with zero knowledge I'm not expecting to buy a one software fits all option that has no budget limit. I am allocating about RM50 bucks range to doodle with no expectation of return. And if I manage to make something good I am including them into the game ever expending assets pro bono.

Also if anyone interested to check out my team's game ..... do visit or try out our game ....

Lazy Necromancer

If you have any 2d pixel animation software suggestion or any other potential music software recommendation please do drop them here and I will explore those option.

Thank you for reading and have a pleasent day.

Need PC expert opinion ...

Greetings fellow /k,

Old PC constantly facing memory issue and random blue screen, I'm presuming it's windows 7 issue but to be sure I'm planning to send it to the shop for inspection. Shop closest to me is either (ideal tech) , (C-zone) or (netstore) .... (seems to have quite a load full of other store this are the 3 store I have visited at least a few times)

My PC spec is as follow:

Casing
- Cooler Master CM690 III mid tower

Power Supply
- XFX PRO 750W

CPU
- Intel i5-4690K (3.5GHZ)
- 64-bit operating system

Heat Sink (CPU Cooler)
- Scythe Mugen 4

Motherboard
-ASUS Z97-A

Memory/RAM
2 of 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1600

Graphics Card
-ASUS GTX 970 turbo

Hard Drive
Western Digital 2TB

A few question had embroiled deep into my own dilemma on what course of action would be the most cost effective yet newfangled to encroach upon. Should they find nothing wrong with my hardware and only a software change is necessary should I embrace windows 10 or windows 11? I"d presume both software is able to still function without rejecting my old rig. However given the circumstances I would be necessitate to either fully upgrade or partially upgrade this old fossil to keep up with times.

If that is the case, my requirement would be having the ability to utilize blender , unity, unreal engine in general (as my current computer is already able to do that but with older version because the latest software update demand windows 10 and above). Gaming will be of low priority as I have barely enough time allocated for new games (My steam library contain thousand over product from the past I have not experienced which I am confident I do not need to upscale my com's ability just for those).

Would any skilled gadget practitioner be willing to take up the challenge and tinker a possible spec with a budget of RM2500? Reason for this budget range is because I mostly only utilizing the computer at night and perhaps venturing into some side hustle making game ,youtube or game assets with above mention software and I am restricting my cash flow until I have seen decent returns from my side hustle.

My current thought is if I am to upgrade motherboard, ram and CPU will most likely be the first to go because they are interjectory to rely on each other for functionality. And being a blank sheet of paper I will most likely end up nodding every recommendation from the shop without much resistance if I do not seek a second opinion.

(Anyone had seek service from those shop could also provide review and experience to further revise my preparation before I approach them)

I have already clean and clear all my data and I would most likely be ferrying this old fossil at latest hour, tomorrow. Thank you for your patience in reading and hope to hear from your comment.

Best regards - CT
