HELLO BOYS! I'M BAAAAAACK!

Wow, 30 days just pass by so fast. Bora-bora has been interesting (or maybe Tahiti... it's a magical place!) and KLboy quite enjoyed the time afforded to reflect on things... get out and around, do other stuff, chill out in some other places, make some changes in life

On that note, I decided to give Mcd a break and check out Burger King, cuz it's been a while since I had that yummy-yummy Mushroom Swiss - best of their lineup!

When KLboy ate it, it was 3 weeks ago, and since then we've had some changes... Mcd price went up, and usually the other fast food chains will follow suit. SO I don't know if the price is the same. So... caveat emptor.

But when I went, display price for Double Mushroom Swiss regular set was Rm14.95 before 6% SST, with tax it came to Rm15.85

This is the burger - very nice, same taste since KLboy first ate it like 20+ years ago. Sadly it was massive to me back then, but now with bigger mouth and bigger stomach, it looks quite different. Still enjoyable however.

I've had Carl's Jr mushroom before, and Wendy's, and I have to say, there is ZERO DIFFERENCE I can taste between them, ZIP ZILCH NADA. As such I'd much rather have a BK over Carl's which is a lot more expensive. If I pay for a Swiss mushroom burger at Rm20+, I expect minimum a big whole grilled Portobello mushroom on top, not shreds that obviously come out of a can.

My opinion only ah, don't nobody butthurt about this please. All a matter of taste

Moving on - NOW this is actually the real reason KLboy checked out BK, besides revisiting an old favourite.

Let me digress a bit and explain a litle bit about KLboy and fast food. I like fast food. I believe it is an efficient model for serving food quickly and cheaply. However it is NOT nutritious. I've audited one of the busiest Mcd outlets in Malaysia, and at peak sales it used only 3 cabbages a day! So I think there is room for improvement in this area.

(Besides that, fast food provides a quick barometer of inflation and purchasing power and if you can see how it changes over time, well... faham-faham lah. And KLboy not just blowing out his ass here, look up the "Big Mac purchasing power parity measure".)

SO back on track - one of the ways to improve nutrition of fast food meals, is to include salad in the meal, in place of high-carb high-sodium high-fats food like French fries. In some Mcds overseas, they offer a nice big salad bowl to swap for French fries with no additional charge. Mcd hasn't done this in Malaysia yet... BUT BURGER KING HAS!

As you can see it is not actually very big, dressing packet and burger size for scale.

Contents are a tiny pinch of red and white cabbage and some tomato slices. KLboy would have preferred some onions and corn frankly. IINM the contents are only 150gm - compare to a supermarket deli salad bowl of around 400-450gm, sample below:

But all in all, it's a GOOD START, a ground-breaker and trend-setter in Malaysian fast food scene. It is more healthy than coleslaw and you can eat it minus dressing if you like, that would be best for healthy and ~~fatass~~ dieting people. I hope that more fast food outlets will follow, and in future we can have a BIG salad bowl like the one above for minimal extra cost.

Other than that... damn, it's good to be back. Obligatory drillz below for those of you who appreciate ladies fashion and healthy bodies

Review: Coleslaw and Chocolate Pie (w drillz)

Recently Mcd did something KLboy has been waiting for a long, long time: it introduced COLESLAW, which you can substitute for FREE for french fries in any value meal.

KLboy has only seen this when eating Mcd in other countries. Notably when I had the wonderful McRib in Germany, they offered an option to change the fries for a supermarket-deli standard salad bowl. That was frankly the best Mcd meal I have ever had.

French fries is nice for bulking out a hungry person's meal, or for sharing with friends during McCafe chit-chat session, but more often than not KLBoy would like to have more veggies with the burger meals... and at last Malaysia has it!

One taste and I instantly rated this better than KFC coleslaw. KFC coleslaw is diced into microscopic cubes that have almost no individual flavour and coupled with an often watery sauce that tastes just.... blandly sour.

Whereas Mcd's coleslaw is more like REAL coleslaw, shredded strips of lettuce that gives a certain bite and chew. In fact it's on a similar standard with Nando's coleslaw or deli coleslaw available in Msia. For an instant-delivery fast-food chain, that's not bad.

It still won't beat home-made coleslaw, expensive cafe coleslaw or Marrybrown's amazing vegetable salad. But it's something.

Recommendation: I will regularly eat this with my burger rather than french fries.

Next up:

This is the new Caramel and Chocolate Pie, yes two flavours in one. As you can see its really basically two squirts of caramel sauce and chocolate sauce in the pie. It was very sweet, too sweet even for me, and I much prefer the ordinary fruit pies such as apple or the regrettably short-lived pineapple.

The caramel doesn't mix well with the chocolate, and combines into a single taste that is just SWEET. Eating both sides individually is more enjoyable than combining.

But it was fun to try once. And at Rm3.50, nearly double of standard pie price, yeah it's really something I recommend you only buy once, just to try. And then also only to share with friends.

I never go to KFC. NEVER. The experience is like a casino - depending on your luck, sometimes you win, usually you lose, you leave feeling poorer and regretting the loss of your money. The food is often disappointing and the service is utter shit.

So it's 3pm on a Friday, KLboy needed to do banking during lunch in a different part of town, and feeling hungry for fast food. No Texas or Mekdi nearby, but there is KFC with a drive through.

I've long boycotted KFC. In fact it's literally a full year since KLboy ate KFC, and that was only for KLboy's fried chicken thread. But KLboy is hungry as fuck so just grab a quick lunch and go lah. Besides KFC outlets are usually dirty, greasy and filled with flies.

At this time of day I'm the only customer at the whole place. As I was paying a 2nd car came up behind me.

"Original recipe snack plate please. Dada dengan drumstick. Air Sarsi. Terima kasih"

I paid and got my change. No receipt. HAH!! I asked for receipt. Cashier immediately stunned and start typing quickly.

"Errr... Resit lambat keluar, pergi window depan dulu nanti saya bagi"

Haha. Know what's going on here, ktards? Pocket money.

Collecting my food, kid at the window says "Ayam spicy?" I say no, saya order ori. "Ok. Air?". "Sarsi."

Get my chicken... Inside is spicy. "Dik saya kata Ori." "Oh ya."

Get my food and drive off to find a nice place to park and eat. Drink a bit. It's Pepsi.

The breast piece is smaller than a credit card. The drumstick is tiny. If this was a live chicken, you could probably lift it in one hand. I'm sure I've seen crows which are bigger. I guarantee I can eat 6 of these in one meal.

Taste is normal, original recipe. Quite moist, probably because it's fresh.

Also, KFC didn't provide me with a plastic spoon for my side dishes. Amboi pandainyerrr but no worry, I found a way:

The bun was stiff and hard, but not because it was toasted. It was stale. I could use it like a spoon, which I did, scooping up my potato like scooping up dhal with thosai.

Hi all

looking for a budget laptop for office work, surfing, movie, Youtube, LIGHT gaming (2010s games like L4D2)

Something like Asus x441n or x441u

x441n has Celeron N3350 and integrated graphics only, x441u has i3 and 920MX

Now I know obviously the x441u should perform much better, but it might be overkill for my kind of light gaming

so my question is, could the x441n or similar processor but with an SSD work for me even with only integrated graphics?

But these are mostly Arabic names. Frankly I like traditional Malay names. I read somewhere that traditional Malay names for girls are names of flowers, e.g. Melor, Liyana, Melati. Those are nice. I've met some very nice aweks with such names

But what are traditional Malay names for boys? I don't know any.

In a statement, acting ABF Regional Commander for Western Australia, Mark Wilson said officers were committed to preventing the importation of this kind of material.

“Visitors to Australia need to be aware that we are constantly on the lookout for this sort of prohibited material, in addition to the terrible imagery involving child exploitation we are continuing to locate,” he said.

“Videos depicting extreme sexual deviancy and acts of horrific violence are not acceptable in our community and anyone caught engaging in this behaviour risks forfeiting their right to be here.”

How did the events unfold?

The man tried to enter several bars and restaurants but was blocked by people inside. Police arrived at the scene within minutes.

They first tried to stop the assailant with a stun-gun before shooting him dead.

An eyewitness, named as Gloria, told AFP news agency: "We didn't know what was going on, we were quickly moved inside the bar, I went outside and I saw a man lying on the floor."

Jonathan, a waiter at a local restaurant, told AFP: "I saw him with a knife in his hand. He looked crazy."

He said a woman the attacker had stabbed ran into into the restaurant bleeding. The assailant tried to follow her inside, but was fended off and finally fled.

Two of the wounded in the attack are in a serious condition but do not have life-threatening injuries.

Later in the evening the IS group said it was behind the attack, in a brief statement posted on its news outlet.

How did French authorities react?
The anti-terrorism unit of the Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said police were on the scene five minutes after an emergency call and the attacker was killed "less than nine minutes later".

Mr Collomb praised police for their "cool response". He said his first thoughts were "with the victims of this heinous act".

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo tweeted (in French): "Tonight, our city was bruised."

"I want to tell them that all Parisians are on their side," she added.

Okay, so I just majorly cocked up.

I drove at least 200km without checking the tyres on an old Kelisa (not my usual vehicle) including at 110kph on highway. Yes, an unforgivable rookie mistake. Can make the excuse it was very short notice, rushing, blablala but... absolute screwup on my part.

Did not realise they were severely underinflated.

Had to use the emergency air pumping mode at the petrol station to inflate the tyres.

How bad could the damage be? Do I need to change all 4 tyres right now right away?

What, in your experience, is my risk level now?
