Mobo not detecting onboard M.2 slot

I've just changed my rig to a new casing, then when I try to switch on the pc, my mobo onboard m.2 slot is not being detected, I've tested the nvme card in my expansion slot and I was able to boot into window, so the nvme drive is not damaged or dead, however when I slot in to the onboard m.2 slot it is not working, yesterday it was working fine

This nvme drive I has been using for few years and I rarely remove it, when I install my mobo on the new casing I didn't remove the nvme drive as well, it was secure with a screw and not loose

I've tried remove bios battery, unplug power, and also remove all my plugged in usb except for keyboard and mouse, even seeing to uefi mode or uefi + legacy mode also don't help

Anyone has encounter this problem before?

Moving kitchen sink location without hacking wall

i'm trying to build a cabinet for my new house, but the current plumbing is located near to the middle of the wall where the cabinet will be install, the wall you see in the picture is load bearing wall, after consult with the in-house contractor, they said the pipe is located deep inside the load bearing wall and it is difficult and risky to relocate the piping

so what i'm trying to do now is to minimize the wet work needed as it is very costly, and if there is leaking i will need to remove the entire cabinet and hack the wall for repair

my current piping is as per below, there the red square is there i wanted the sink to be, the countertop will be 900mm height (3 tiles height in the pic below), if i want to keep the drain pipe and P trap at it's position, can i just use PVC pipe to connect to the sink drain and do a slight slope towards the P trap?

and 2nd major problem is the water supply pipe, it is too high at 940mm, and too far off at the middle, i intend to make a countertop faucet instead of wall mounted faucet, the current solution i can think of is to build a 100mm false wall behind the lower cabinet so i can connect the water hose to the bottom of my sink, or is there any better solution?

and this is the design i'm trying to build

i know it will be better to just engage with a contractor, but i hope i can get a DIY-friendly answer here instead

Journey of me DIY stove cabinet

My old stove cabinet is getting old and rotten due to exposure to weathers and water at my condo yard, so i decided to try out building a simple floating cabinet on my own, get some hands on experience and write down my journey here, maybe next time i can renovate some of part of my new house too

i will be starting from scratch from design to assembly, but the wood i will ask the seller to cut it for me as well since i dont have the necessary tools for that

the idea i had in mind is:
- should be floating cabinet
- cabinet made of wood, but at the same time should be sturdy and water/weather resistant

Design
the design part i use Sketchup Free, dont need to download any thing as it is a web app, the functionalities is not top notch, but cant complain much since it is free which is perfect for people like me who dont really do design much or make earning from designing

so i get all the measurement i needed, time to choose the materials, for this i choose plywood with 18mm thickness and thanks for [@ar188] for supplying the plywood and provide cutting service for me too

Smoothen the Wood
there are some chipping on the plywood sheet, this is expected since transporting it will damage the surface and sometime the cutting blade not sharp then will left some rough edges, but nevermind, time to use 320 grit sandpaper and my sanding disk with rotary drill to smoothen out the edge

that's all for today, the next step is to apply primer for first layer of protection, maybe will do that tomorrow if got time

How to settle non-compoundable saman by PDRM

last weekend i just got a saman at police roadblock because i was looking at my phone while driving, so the police issued me a saman, but it doens't state the amount, then at the bottom there is a remark, 'Kesalahan ini ~~boleh~~/tidak boleh dikompaun', 'This offense is ~~compoundable~~/not compoundable'

and i need to attend court at PJ on 30 Nov, is there anyway to settle this without going to court? and what's the fine amount?

Parents coming back from overseas

My parents is coming back from US mid of next month and not able to extend their stay there due to visa expired

my question here is is it all quarantine center is in KL/selangor? my parents are staying in ipoh, is it possible to be quarantine in ipoh?

their flight will land in KLIA, after the 14 days quarantine can they travel interstate back to ipoh? (assume that the interstate ban still in effect by that time)? or need to interview at police station or download gerak app?

and during their 14 days quarantine i can deliver food or groceries item to the hotel front desk and have them deliver to my parents?

got any procedures or documents that they need to be done here or that i can help them prepare in advance so my parents can go back to their hometown without much hiccup?

Repainting my old bathroom wall

Just to share my journey in repairing and repaint my bathroom wall that has mold infection and water stain left over from water leaking last time, and this condo is already more than 15 years old, and since i have a long leave before starting my new job so i guess can take this time to polish my DIY skill

since the old bathroom is only half tile so the wall has to be properly sealed and painted with water and fungus resistant paint

what i plan to do:
1. sand away old paint
2. apply new skim coat
3. seal with sealer
4. paint final top coat

my mother is coming to KL next week and hopefully this can be done by that time and give her a surprise and let her choose the color of final top coat

this is one of the wall of the bathroom that is infected by mold, the black dot and stain that you see is the mold, it was cause by the water sipping in last time due to pipe leaking outside

time to sand all the wall down with my electric drill with sanding disc from Mr. DIY

this drill is super useful, i can use it as screwdriver, drill and even sanding wall, here i use 60 grit sanding disc, remember to wear dust mask and eyes protector as there will be a lot of fine dust flying around during sanding

and this is the result, after 3 batteries charge and few hours of work, i can finish it faster, i wanted to sand down the uneven surface to make it flat as well, i'm making the wall more ugly now

close the door and wait for a while for the dust to settle then use paint brush to sweep the loose dust away from the wall, sweep from top to bottom, after that wipe the wall again with a damp cloth, since there is no skim coat applied, damp cloth will be fine

now i'm gonna wait a while for the dust to settle and in the mean time take some rest

Accident but the other party never report

I had an accident 2 weeks ago, to cut the story short, a bezza bang my car from behind while i'm waiting for my turn to merge to main road, so in this case it is most likely bezza fault, she ask me to make police report, and that time i also made a mistake and forget to take her contact number

i made a police report few hours after that, the sarjan said the other party havent made report yet and i have to wait until the other party lodge the report then need wait few days only can collect the result

after few days i call the sarjan he said the other party have lodge report yet, in this situation, i'm not able to proceed to claim insurance unless i want to lose my NCD and i dont want to fork out my money for the repair

just now i call the sarjan again but he seems like busy and dont want to layan me like that, he said the investigation result is collect from traffic police HQ, not the branch, he said he will check for me and call me back later but till now no call coming back

in this case where do i collect the investigation result and proceed with my insurance claim?
and if the other party didn't lodge report then i forever cannot claim insurance?

it is a good website to survey price but the workshop is really limited and i always get workshop located in bangi, only 1 or 2 from puchong only

but at least i can search for tyres that the workshop i used to go to doesn't have it

got a feedback/improvement on the PM function, let's say i received 2 or more PM while i'm away, usually the latest PM will have a big read box appear on top of LYN below the banner, after i replied the message or refresh the page, the red box is no longer there, and the subsequent PM will show in top right "X new messages"

but the problem is that the words is too small, even though is highlighted in bold, compare to the big red box at the top which is more obvious. I'm not a big seller that expect PM everyday so naturally i wont go check my inbox everyday but sometime if i received some PM that i need to reply i just missed out, especially if i come in LYN via bookmark that redirect and focus me on specific thread

can we have some default features that will show the red box as long as there is unread messages?

Pos laju sent my parcel to wrong office

I got a parcel from Japan that cost over RM200, it supposed to be deliver to Jalan Sultan Ismail which is in KL center, but they deliver my item to PPL Batu Caves which is damn far away from my place

previously all my parcel is delivered to KL pos office then send to my office, i double checked the shipping address this time it is written my office address which is correct

it is an EMS registered parcel, not the normal one

anyone has same experience before?

Clone disk/copy file from hdd with bad sector

I have a secondary hdd that i suspect has quite some bad sector, the transfer speed become very slow, when i'm trying to copy files over to my main hdd it just hang or having less than 1mbps transfer speed

when i'm trying to use Acronis True Image to clone the disk it say operation failed or unable to read some disk sector, i run chkdsk /f /r /x it come out with some errors but i forget what error is that and i didnt note it down

this hdd is WD 1TB 3.5" SATA without OS installed in it, i only use it to store some pictures and movies

so is there anyway i can move the file over to my other hdd that is working fine? i have around >500 files inside total size around 700gb

last month i ordered something online and the seller deliver it to malaysia using sweden post, it is so damn slow and then few days ago it show that it has arrived in Malaysia

it get weird when it stuck at Sweden, "Item sent to MPC PMIH (KLIA)" in POS Malaysia tracking for few days so i called Customs and they said they didnt detain this parcel and there is no record with them

then i called Pos Malaysia they said this parcel has just been send from sweden from 11-14-2014, by right it suppose to be dispatched from sweden on 2014-10-27 already right? if the parcel still in the air plane i dont think POS Malaysia will have the tracking for it

yanwen delivery service from China

Few weeks ago I ordered a small item from aliexpress China and the seller used this yanwen delivery service instead of registered China Post which I never heard of before, I used their tracking service and it show my item has arrived at Malaysia airport on 3 Nov but until today I still haven't receive my item, the address is my office address and it there is always has receptionist or guard to collect the parcel for me

The tracking did not specify which airport and I tried to call pos Malaysia they say this tracking code is not handled by them and it is not appearing in pos Malaysia taking system, I called the custom office also no one pickup call, so if anyone used this yanwen service before and let me know whee to call for their customer support? So far I only found China line but call to there is expensive, I wonder if they are done private courier that has their own delivery man in Malaysia

\the seller has yet to reply and the item cost is only USD 2.99, shouldn't be detained by custom and taxed right?

btw...this 2 months i order quite a lot of stuff from overseas but all the items i ordered is less than 50 USD
