Current pricing for 2.5" 1TB external HDD

I'm thinking of buying a new portable 2.5" 1TB external hdd for my parents. What is the current market price range for that? Any recommendations on reliabilities of different brands?

Also, has anyone heard of Iomega, and whether they're good?

Thanks!

USB Mouse not detected as new hardware.

I recently bought an ASUS U45JC pre-installed with Win7 Home Premium. The touchpad works fine, the USB ports are working, the mouse is working (all pre-tested with other equipment) but when I plug the USB mouse (which came with the laptop) into the USB port, the bubble that usually says "new hardware detected/downloading driver" doesn't appear, and it doesn't work.

Help please?
