I never gave hospital my brother's phone, how do they acquire that?

I went for body check up. Report was perfectly fine.

Received email from Microsoft about 'unusual sign-in', went to check 'recent activity'.
Holy moly.

They have been doing this for one month, on and off.

Strange Microsoft did not send email to inform me earlier. :x

Changed my password. Turned on 2FA.

Still in after-shock, thinking how big the impact will be.
I think the 'secret' I stored in OneNote is compromised now.

Hello, I am starting a Central Asia thread as a forum to share and ask about traveling experience in this region.

Central Asia is referring to five -stan countries which are:
Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬
Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
Tajikistan 🇹🇯
Turkmenistan 🇹🇲

1. Basic information
This region is known historically as the central hub for the ancient silk road. -stan is a suffix of Persian origin, which means "land of". Historically people of East Iranian origin roam around the south of the land today known as Central Asia and Turkic people at the North of Central Asia. Over the span of several centuries the
Turkic people migrated south and became dominant political power in the region.
Most of the Turkic countries traces their modern history to the period after the fragmentation of Mongol empire in Central Asia. Tajikistan being a nation who traces its history back to the proud dynasties of the East Iranian peoples once dominated the region extended their roots further back to antiquity, encompassing of Sogdian and Bactrian cultures.

In the 19th century the Russian joined the imperialism race and colonized Central Asia. Later Central Asia transitioned to Soviet states. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, each Central Asian country went through different development. This includes Tajikistan, which went through a civil war in 1992-1997 that led to most Russians fleeing the country. This would be interesting for you as a traveler to observe personally.

Though a very rich region in the medieval time, Central Asia countries are not considered rich today. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are relatively better as they have massive oil reserves.

2. Visa free for Malaysian except Turkmenistan
Except for Turkmenistan, Malaysian passport holders can enter Central Asia countries without a visa. You will need visa to enter Turkmenistan. To get a visa, you need letter of invitation from tour companies certified by the government, this usually involves buying a tour package from these tour companies. Before Covid, there was a 5 days transit visa but it was never resumed after the pandemic. Please report back if there are changes.

3. Reasons to travel to Central Asia
First, Central Asia is a perfect place for history lovers as some oasis cities along the silk roads during the medieval time are preserved.
Secondly, Central Asia offers some stunning nature views that is not found in anywhere nearby, this include mountain views and vast steppe grassland.
Thirdly, there are a few culture influence in this region: Turkic, Persian and Russian culture. These culture reflects in their food, building architecture, language, dressing, music, etc. Here you can observe traditional Turkic food such as Beshbarmak to Persian influenced pilaf and to Russian borsch and pickled tomato.

Amid controversy over govt contracts, Farhash ceases to be HeiTech Padu substantial shareholder after one month

KUALA LUMPUR (April 18): Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador, former political aide to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has ceased to be a substantial shareholder of HeiTech Padu Bhd, just one month after acquiring a 15.9% stake via a private vehicle in the company.

In a bourse filing on Thursday, the technology services provider said that Farhash is no longer a substantial shareholder following the "cessation of his deemed interest by virtue of the change in shareholdings in Mfivesouthsea Sdn Bhd, the holding company of Rosetta Partners Sdn Bhd, pursuant to Section 8(4) of the Companies Act 2016."

The latest development comes after HeiTech Padu was awarded a contract worth RM190.01 million by the Ministry of Transport on April 15, inviting criticism that the group won the large contract due to Farhash's connection with Anwar.

However, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook clarified on Wednesday that the contract's increased value to RM190.01 million was due to a job merger and that the tender for the project was concluded prior to Farhash emerging as a substantial shareholder of HeiTech Padu.

HeiTech Padu has been in the spotlight since Farhash emerged as its substantial shareholder on March 14, after Rosetta Partners, a private vehicle of Farhash, bought 16.1 million shares or a 15.9% stake in HeiTech Padu.

According to Farhash, the shares he holds in HeiTech Padu through Rosetta Partners are jointly owned with Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan.

"The ownership of these shares is also part of the investment strategy between Sultan Muhammad V and me to support Bumiputera companies," Farhash said in a statement in March.

He also stressed that he has never been involved in any part of government administration and political activities and is now fully focused on business and corporate matters.

Farhash was formerly a political aide to Anwar and PKR’s Perak chief. He resigned as PKR's Perak chief in 2022.

Shares in HeiTech Padu settled seven sen or 2.95% lower at RM2.30 on Thursday, valuing the group at RM232.82 million. Year to date, the stock has rallied by 161.36%.

I'll try to be short.

Decided to cut down time spent on /k on few reasons:
>Diverting time for other more relevant readings
>Filtering out some petty insignificant gossip-like information intake

My target for the remaining of the year:
>Significantly cutting down time on reading /k
>Avoid replying when possible
>Avoid foolish internet argument
>Create at least 2 "meaningful" thread/post per month. "Meaningful" is subjective. Trolling could also be meaningful, during necessary time.

That said, /k is still my default hanging site when I just want to take a break during work
or when I have nothing to do while waiting for mrt train.

Retiring has never crossed my mind.

Some of my friend they have this mindset like work hard now and later retiring relax enjoy life.
For me I think I pretty much like my current work life.

Due to a change in life event I will be having KFC frequently for the foreseeable future.
