Laptop freeze when playing videos

after I change my faulty hdd, i had this annoying problem. whenever I play videos using any player. my laptop gonna freeze for a few minutes and hdd light stays on. no problem when playing musics and online videos. it's only happen when I play videos on my laptop. anybody know how to solve this?
