Smoke from battery while jump start

Hi. I sent my car for polish just now, and leave it there.

I went back to collect it just now and saw they were using my car to jump start another car.

Then my car battery started to make a lot of spark and smoke coming out from my car battery and the other car battery while both of them connected.

What caused it to smoke like that? Any damage to my car? I can drive normally like usual.

ASB Cert Pledge to the bank

Hi guys.

My dad, a retiree, planning to get a new car and applying for loan. However the bank required a guarantor. The reason he doesnt want any of the son to become guarantor so it wont be calculated as part of our requirement.

So he wanted to make a 60k ASB Certificate and pledge the certificate to the bank. I’ve asked 2 hire purchase bankers but none of them encounter this before and need to check with their manager but it’s been 3-4 working days but they still havent get back on this matter.

So anyone has any idea whether this arrangement is acceptable or not. The one i know is putting into the Fixed Deposit and pledge the FD to the bank, however, instead of FD, we use ASB Cert since ASB has higher dividend rate compared to normal FD.

[WTA] Secondhand Car Loan Process

Hi everyone.

I'm selling my mother's car (no longer using as she is using another car) to someone in Facebook. Met the buyer already and they agreed with the price and condition of the car. The buyer is going to obtain bank loan tomorrow and the buyer is requesting a picture of the following:-

1. Greencard
2. IC - my mother
3. Driving License - my mother

As for picture of the greencard, I understand that the bank would need this as this is one of the documents required for obtaining a loan for secondhand car, however, do the bank need my mother IC & Driving License as well in order for the buyer to submit his loan application for secondhand car to the bank?

Sorry kinda noob here never sell a car before and anyone with experience and could share it here would be much appreciated? Reason to sell to third party directly instead of secondhand car dealer as they could offer RM5K higher than the secondhand car dealer.

Laptop screen split into 4

Hi everyone

I appreciate your help if someone could assist me.

Last night before i shut down my computer, it says 'update and shut down' and after i reopen my laptop the next morning i saw my screen become like this.

This is quite usual actually, infact everytime i restart my computer, so all this while i simply shut down instead or restarting to avoid this problem.

This has occur to me more than once. Infact more than 10 times, however, easily solved by uninstall and reinstall the nvidia n intel graphic driver. However i tried the same last nite but i couldnt get it solved. I even reset my pc (windows 10) and the split screen still exist.

Then i went to the extreme level where i factory reset my laptop (back to windows 8) and yes, the split screen still exist.

Anyone knows what is the problem? However during the factory reset time, my screen works perfectly fine.

Just after the reset, it goes back to this 4 split screen

Checp iPhones Seller on Instagram

Not sure whether you guys have noticed it or not, but they are more than 10 sellers on Instagram(IG) selling cheap not just iPhones, but also Samsung, Sony etc.

The price is way cheaper than the market price, is it RM1200 for iPhone 6 16gb (Normal Apple Store Price RM2699) and RM2700 for iPhone 6s 64gb (App Store Price RM3699).

However, there's a catch, you will have to wait for 8 - 10 weeks before you get the phone, and you have to pay the full amount at the time of order.

I am not promoting any of these, but they have a tons of good review on their IG, as well as disclosing their customer IG's username who have bought their stuff for the potential customer to refer to as their are not fake.

My concern is, how do they get these iPhones really cheap? The warranty will be provided by Apple Malaysia. And yet those in Switch/Machines is almost double the price that they are selling.

I've been following and monitoring their IG since August 2015 (or you could tell stalking) for a couple of months, and yes, they have been active since then, and I reckon that some of their customer in August n Sept have received their phones which is in SEALED BOX and the warranty is by Apple Malaysia.

It is original, NOT REFURBISHED. and the BOX is SEALED and genuine phone (I ask one of their customer through IG) I might lose my mind over the price that they are offering.

Any users in Lowyat have purchased through these IG sellers that wanna share with us?
