Need some recommendations for a new lappy

Budget around 3k, don't mind if it has Windows or not.

Gonna do some editing and gaming and would prefer it to have an Nvidia.

Got any ideas?

After recklessly increasing my CPU core ratio from 37/core to 38/core, my system started to freeze randomly when I was gaming and went blank. Then, I tried to restart it and got an error saying "no input" so I went and reset the BIOS. After that, I could boot normally into Windows (Both VGA and DVI worked) but only without the GPU inside any of the PCIe slots and apparently I can't hear anything from my system eventhough Windows does recognize my earphones. I have not tried to reinstall Windows yet though. Do you think I broke my PCIe slots, the GPU, both or something else?

My 4-year-old system specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 (Non K)
GPU: ASUS HD7770-DC-1GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition
MOBO: ASUS P8Z77-V LX
PSU: iPower 85H 750
Monitor: Phillips LED Monitor (VGA and DVI-D)
