Gym Review

Hey guys, as almost all the gyms tie you down to at least a year subscription, I think it would be a good idea to help each other out by posting your take on the gyms you are currently going to. It would help those looking join a gym, other than the typical 5 minute walk round the gym accompanied by the sales consultant. some of the things may include but not restricted to:

1) Range of facilities & equipment, upkeep/maintenance of said F & E
2) floor layout convenience
3) classes offered and effectiveness of instructors
4) quality of staff
5) typical member profile i.e. friendliness, etiquette, students, working adults, fitness buff, hardcore lifters, posers, etc.
6) peak hour conditions.
7) whatever you think may be helpful

I'll start by True Fitness USJ.

lots of free weights and machines, at least 2-3 identical machines so there is not much need to queue up for long.
upkeep is generally adequate with only some machines out of order at any one time.
free weights and hammer machines on ground floor and machines on 2nd and 3rd floor. It being the biggest branch, floor space is adequate. Oh, also they have a small ladies workout area on 3rd floor for those who wants some privacy
No idea about the classes, as i've never attended one.
staff generally ok, but won't offer to help unless asked to.
mostly working adults with some serious lifters. quite well behave and most return the weights when they are finished, also not much weights hogging (of course there are always a few bad apples). Not exactly helpful, but at least they don't bother anyone by grunting loudly deadlifting 50 lbs.
Peak hours are tolerable, as the space and equipment are adequate. won't disrupt your flow by much.

Generally, i am quite happy with it for the 3-4 years i've been there. I guess my only real complain is that parking can be quite a b***h most weekdays.

Hi, i'm in my late 30's, and I have been training for the past 4 years. and off & on for the past 15.

my workout consist of the following splits:-

day 1 - Chest
day 2 - Shoulders
day 3 - Back
day 4 - Arms
day 5 - Legs
day 6 & 7 - Family day (rest)

I take every set to failure (8-12), and 1 minute rest between sets & 2 minutes rest between exercises.

My question is, whenever I reach approx 45-50 minute mark, which is my 6th exercise, I tend to lose the pump. I do not feel my muscles bloating anymore, though I can continue for another 2-3 exercises (20-30 min.)
I have a feeling that to push anymore is counterproductive, but sometimes I just can't stop.

Have anybody experienced this?

What are your thoughts?
