Sorry first a...

I want to put in Serious /k but macam not suitable since it is a rant, and don't think it qualify for LYN Charity Foundation sub-forum too.

inb4 I treat /k as my journal/blog/rant outlet.

TLDR:-
- I recently have my rental property vacant
- Offered my place to a family who was going homeless a temporary stay while they sort their accommodation issues.
- Red flags that we are prepared to deal with, came true.
- This family used to the high flyer life, don't want to slug it out to work lower ranked jobs to sustain themselves, said they used to stay in a bungalow in Bangsar, don't want to work as waiter or in McD or odd jobs (maybe only want to do jobs related to their previous business which have been severely affected by pandemic and can say unlikely to recover post-pandemic)
- Found out from people and charitable organisations that used to help the family also don't want to help these people who are entitled and don't want to help themselves
- We are not well to do people, I lost my job post-pandemic and still haven't recovered, and have been depending on rental income in addition to freelance work as my main sources of income and to pay bills, I thought of helping fellow Malaysians temporarily who are down on their luck due to the pandemic since the property is vacant

1st update:-
1. We finally found out their true intentions - their priority is to crowdfund for deposit money for their dream house first, then only they will go look for jobs, then they can properly educate their kids.

Wahhhhhhh I need a few panadols on the front side back priorities and logic of the family. No wonder they are in the situation they are in and even charities give up on them.

2. They waste their time dreaming of their dream home than looking for jobs to be able to pay for the down payment of that said home they have targeted.

2nd update:-
1. We decided not to allow the family to extend their stay beyond what was agreed initially after the wife scolded my wife for advising them to find jobs to stabilize the financial situation first before anything else.

2. I wish them all the best in their endeavour to find the next water fish to fund their delusions.

3rd update (26/7/2023):-
1. The family shifted out - thanked us profusely, so I collected the key and car park tag/access tag. So on the way out they needed to tell the guard to open the boom gate - all they had to do is wave the Malaysian hand and the guard who know them should open the boom gate. Instead they (the wife) impatiently ordered the guard to open the boom gate.

2. My wife and the rich friend devised a plan to get the family to move - shift them to AirBNB. At the AIrBNB, that family (the wife again) complained to the operator that the fan and TV not working. The operator said give them some time to get it rectified - the operator got a undeserved 'f' bomb from the wife. Immediately the operator asked the family to move out. My wife and the rich friend have to slow talk the operator ask them to let them stay ?II?III?III? The operator is ready to ask the guards at the condo to evict the family already - wahh so drama and privileged.

4th Update (15/8/2023)
1. Last Saturday the family came to take their stuffs that they left behind when they shifted out on 26th July. Been telling them to remove their stuffs since tenant will be moving in next week.

2. No replies for 1 weeks plus, then suddenly reply on Sat 8.30pm want to come 9pm to pick up their stuffs. She contacted my wife while my wife was in the middle of a dance class so she didn't see the message nor calls - again my wife kena berated for not picking up her calls, ask why my wife can't allocate a few minutes to take her calls.

3. So we agreed on 10.30pm, then kept postponing until reach 12.10am midnight. By that time, the apartment access will be blocked for all visitors and I have to remove my car from the car park and give the slot to them just so they can come in.

4. We didn't want to wait for them at the apartment, so we went to nearby mamak that was owned by a friend that came from that family's church, he mentioned that their charity arm managed to find a RM2k a month job for the husband but they declined saying they looking for RM6-7k job, minimum. The church's charity arm PIC was dumbfounded. On top of that, the family refused to come out to meet or be visited by the church PIC. This and other rude antics by the family (like demanding a landed property with rental deposit fully paid by the church, etc) caused the church charity arm to give up helping them.

5. Today received message from the wife again saying they got no place to stay - they have appealed to all sorts of charities, EVEN Uncle Kentang don't want to help, kek. But the wife remained delulu positive, saying the husband is on the cusp of getting a job (like what she's been saying 3 weeks ago when she asked for petrol money to attend job interview), not knowing we heard they are demanding for a RM6-7k salary.

TMall Genie(s) cannot find/connect to smart bulb

I bought a smart LED bulb and a TMall Genie Boom smart speaker.

Tried linking them up - by issuing command to the speaker/app to look for team mates (rough translation of Mandarin).

The Genie Boom speaker replied it can't find any smart devices around even though the bulb is powered and giving out light.

Tried another GMall Genie smart speaker (the bigger one, not the Boom speaker), it was better, it detected the smart bulb but was unable to maintain the link to the bulb.

Changed another bulb (these bulbs are TMall Genie supported bulbs, accordin to the seller), still the same.

So there should be something missing, either in the steps or I need to buy another device to link them up (but not shown in the videos I've seen so far).

Anyone has experience with linking supported smart bulbs to TMall Genies? I tried looking at youtube how they did the linking - some older videos have the user doing the linking in the app instead of issuing voice commands, while some videos show user just issue voice commands.

I can't read the apps (banana here) and can issue commands only.
