[WTA] 16 year old have never attended school

About 6/7 years ago.. I met this young girl , aged 10. Her mother is an Indonesian and I suspect she's an illegal immigrant in Malaysia.

This young girl I see her around always lacking of food and etc. So I took care of her outside and befriended her. Im like her big sister. She doesn't go to school. So I brought her to my church and then managed to enroll her for Kumon classes while I coach her to read. She could later read and write because she enjoys reading. She can converse well in English. That same year, this lil girl followed her mother back to Indonesia and we kept in touch once in a while via FB.

She texted me today, saying she just returned. On learning more about her, she's 16 years old now, she dint get to attend school in Indonesia and instead her mother ask her to work. She work as a servant in Indonesia. Now that she is in Malaysia, her mother is asking her to work in Malaysia. She feels she is only 16 years old and no one will hire her. I told her she needs education and Im finding ways and asking around if there is any free education / enrollment she join to better her life in the coming future.

Is there is life skill course than she could earn a decent living and at the same time study.

Kindly advice on the notion that she could possibly be still an immigrant child or had obtained her Visa.

Any pathway to recommend or options?? She's a very nice girl. I feel, she deserve a better opportunity in life.

Bad Experience at ROCKWILLS Malaysia - Headquarters

As the Topic title suggest, I would like to share my experience at Rockwills(Headquaters); two interviewers.

Apart from completing the interview session at Rockwills, I would like to share my experience I had with the interviewers.

It took me half an hour wait to finally have the interview despite I am requested to arrive at least half an hour before the interview. With no apologies given. It is so unprofessional of them especially in this service line.

I find the two interviewer to be snobbish, two ladies in their 30s or late 30s. One in particular was very rude (Esther). She claimed to be the head of a division, I think estate planning division. I was offended when they uttered remarks like..

" I think your previous company is paying you too high. "

I didn't want to go on a head on with this statement as I didn't find it necessary to confront that statement directly, out of courtesy. Firstly, my previous employer must have seen something in their choice over all other candidates and that should be respected. If the interviewer(Esther) is unable to fathom this, then it surely tells a lot about the person.

It doesn't reflect well on the representation of the company as a whole. Moreover, if she is heading one of the department, that is very alarming to have such a rigid person in her thoughts and how she derive to her thoughts through the interview session.

I just want to alert people and bring this to the attention of the public that we should never be told that way. It is very unprofessional, bringing disrepute to the Legal profession if she is from a legal background. The interviewer could have some decency to respect the other interviewer's judgment when employing.

I also would like to note that my previous employment is way much reputable and it comes from a professional body and for minion company to disregard this to begin with, is sheer rude. There is other questions posed and through this, it is very unintellectual, unethical and unprofessional. Halfway through the interview, I wanted to keep the interview as brief as possible and try to end it asap.

When they ask if I had anymore questions to ask.. I quickly had to wrap it up and run. I did ask them a sarcastic question - is Rockwills a body pioneer in estate planning and they answered yes. The answer is no. They really have no idea and most of the time, they bull shit a lot. Stories about going the mile for some of their clients because they can't find their beneficiaries.. all those stories is really unethical and unnecessary. And I personally find some of the sharings should be confidential. Again, unethical.

I also would like to note that it is wrong by the law to retain photostat IC of the person when interviewing. It is alright if you are being employed.

I didn't thought of this at first.

What Rockwills took was :

1) They ask for a Photostat IC to be photostatted (kept)
2) Photostat Transcript of your results (kept)
3) Photostat Certificates (kept)

It is acceptable if the company wants your documents to be verified by showing them upon request but not to retain documents. Especially personal documents. For all you know, it can be use for malice. This is under duress.

All this was asked on interview day and retained. Also, on their sheet of questionnaire.. you are required to give them ideas on how to improve their business/services. I have attended interviews before, looking back, this is absurd. This is taking advantage and it is again not professional. I hope Job channels like Jobstreet is able to note this down. For the questions on opinions that you did not answer well or in general.. they will ask you further on it.

I hope others will not fall victims to succumb to this kind of interviews. It was a bad experience at Rockwills Malaysia ( Headquarters ).

I also would like to note that the interview was set through EMAIL. No calls was made to set the appointment. Yet I attended it. These are clear signs of early stage of a bad interview. Poor management.

Apart from my legal background, I also come from a business background. I own businesses and I could have been their potential client but after this encounter, I highly doubt I'll ever recommend or speak about Rockwills. Terrible. I could never trust my estate on such establishment. I rather go to an established proper law firm. At least people there would have better integrity than these unqualified /bare qualified legal representations.

I wish to know what other ways I could do to alert this to the management team of Rockwills as this is tendentious to potential Rockwills and job seekers.
