I'm current a first year Accounting and Finance student, any reccomendations and advise relating to accounting/finance internships? The ones I know are PWC, Ernst & Young, CIMB, etc. Which one provides the best training? I meet most firms requirements with the exception that I am still I first year student. I would prefer an internship which would expose me to financial markets and such rather than auditing. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

MTV Networks Asia's flagship show - MTV Asia Awards (MAA) 2008 is all set to take over the Malaysian music scene! The highly anticipated pan-regional music event is back for the sixth year running, bringing music excitement to all music fans in over nine countries in Asia. For the first time, the Awards show that celebrates and pays tribute to regional and international music talents will be held at the Arena of Stars in Genting- City of Entertainment, Malaysia on August 2, 2008 and will be hosted by Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars.

This year's host Jared Leto is an accomplished singer and actor. In 1998, Jared Leto formed the band 30 Seconds to Mars in which he is the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band had spent most of the last four years touring the world and their second album A Beautiful Lie was certified platinum by Recording Industry Association of America in 2006. Since then, the band has picked up the MTV2 Award at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards for the music video, "The Kill," as well as bringing home the Best Rock Video and Video of the Year at the 2007 MTV Australia Video Music Awards. Leto also garnered critical acclaims for his role in the movie Requiem For A Dream, after which he went on to work with David Fincher on Fight Club and Panic Room.

I'm surprised there isn't a CAL thread for Taylorians in Lowyat so I hope there'll be a good response to this thread.

How has your CAL experience been so far? I've found mine to be very interesting especially how time is used so efficiently unlike in secondary schools where most of your teachers are shit and your hardly learn anything in class. Now I don't waste my time in class or going just for the sake of attending it. Another difference is how all the teaching is done using Power Point. And of course the huge temptation to skip classes especially LAN.

Anyway, anyone knows where I can find out what reference books are good for the subjects I'm taking (Mathematics, Accounting, Law and Economics)? Besides having to look up in the library.
