Home gym flooring

Hi, im planning to build a home gym and currently figuring out what type of flooring is suitable and cost effective. The room is fully tiled and i don't want to crack them up by accidental weight drops.

I have a squat rack and a DIY wood platform for deadlifts which lowers chances of heavy impact on the floor.

The room is 6f x 6f and i have surveyed a few options :

Option 1 : Speckled rubber tiles will cost me RM840 for the whole area (20mm thick & each tile 1.6f x 1.6f)

Option 2 : Round dot rubber floor mat will cost me RM600 for the whole area (5.0mm thick & each piece is 1.47f x 1.47f)

I tried looking for cow stall mats (18mm thick & 4f x 6f) which cost rm350 per roll and, so i will need 2 rolls = RM700. Plus i need to find transportation since they are large, which makes it expensive.

Are there any other cost effective or cost cutting option that u guys know of?

Thanks in advance

Building my home gym

Im planning to make my bodybuilding gym at home.. I have a room sized 7 x 12 and hopefully i can get all the items inside the room

Shopping checklist :
a. Olympic weight plates - 130kg
b. Olympic barbell
c. Olympic sized dumbbell bar/ adjustable bowflex dumbbells (90lbs)
d. Rack
e. Straight, incline & decline adjustable bench
f. Deadlift platform (diy)
g. Resistance bands
h. Calf rise platform (diy)
i. Flooring mat

I need some opinions regard the rack and dumbbells..

1. Which rack would be better? Both support up to 400kg and have cable pull down & row..
From my view both are similar just that the first rack has a dip bar and storage for plates.. pls do tell me if u guys can see any disadvantage..

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

2. Is shifting plates in and out of the dumbbell time consuming & reduces intensity of the workout?
So should i get a dumbbell bar since i have the plates ready or get those adjustable bowflex dumbbells?

Pls do add other items that i might have missed which are essential for a bodybuilding home gym.. Thanks in advance
