Generating EA Form for Employee

Hi all,

I am running a small business and had an employee last year, but I did not know about my obligations towards LHDN until recently.
As far as I know, I need to register with LHDN to get an E number (which I have done), and then submit E form (which I have NOT done), and then also provide EA form to my employee (which I am trying to do).

1. May I know if I need to submit E form before doing EA form for my employee?
2. If 1. is not true, and if I do not have any HR/payroll software, can I just fill in the EA form manually (using software such as Acrobat or Illustrator)?
3. I know it is already too late for the above, but I am trying to make it right. May I know what are the consequences for being late?

Thank you.

Partnership Registration with LHDN

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if it is compulsory by law that a business (in my case, a partnership) to register with LHDN?
Is there any threshold for annual revenue or number of employees to determine whether I need to register, or as soon as I registered my business, it is required?

Thank you.

Is GPU Important for Adobe Programs

Hi everyone,

I am working for a marketing/design firm, where I need to use Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign very frequently and heavily (many files goes up to 2GB, and I have to open a few files simultaneously sometimes).

I am currently using an old ASUS G53SW, and I have installed 16GB of RAM and a SSD, and it is running quite ok. However the laptop is getting old and is showing signs of breaking down.

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop with around 4k budget, and I travel a lot, so I am hoping to get something slim and light.
However, slim and light usually comes only with MX150 and no discreet GPU. Therefore my dear sifus, is discreet GPU important to run these programs, or is maxing my RAM and CPU more important in this case? If GPU is indeed important, I don't mind to sacrifice some weight/size. I am quite used to the ultra bulky G53SW, I suppose most new laptops would be much lighter.

Please also recommend me some laptops with my above use case. I prefer Intel/nVidia setups, 15" screen, with the best possible specs, I need 2 hard drives (SSD+HDD), as light as possible while not sacrificing the needed specs.

Thank you!

Car Jerking at 4th and 5th Gear

Hi guys,

I have recently had some problems with my car and would like to seek your opinions before going to the mechanic so that I can have some ideas beforehand.
I am driving a 2012 VW Polo Sedan, and is currently at 250,000 km. My car is jerking at 4th and 5th gear (feels like clutch slip in a manual car), especially when it is accelerating or when going up a slope, and usually this occurs when it is at speeds from 40 km/h to 80 km/h.

What do you think could be the problem?

Thank you.

New Aruz vs 2nd Hand Foreign Brands

Hi all,

I am planning to change to a 7 seater SUV or MPV for my family and business use (I would sometimes need to carry up to 300 kg of goods, but usually not more than 200 kg).

I have tested the new Aruz, while I like the car generally, but I think that it is slightly underpowered, and it is a bit noisy inside. I also use cruise control frequently as I drive on highway a lot, so the absence of cruise control in the car is also a downside to me.

I'm thinking is there any alternative from the 2nd hand market with similar price?
For now I am eyeing 2014 Santa Fe, 2014 Biante, 2014 Serena. Do you guys have any suggestions for me to have a look? I would prefer a reliable and relatively low maintenance car.

Thank you!

Time TP-Link Archer C1200 Router Problem

Hi everyone,

I have subscribed to Time's 100Mbps plan, and they have given me a TP-Link Archer C1200 router.
I noticed that whenever my wife is downloading a few episodes of her dramas (I believe it is like torrent, but Chinese version) at once, the router will become unresponsive, and we will have no internet access. The only way to solve this is to power off and on the router again. It used to be able to handle like 5 episodes at once, but now it even downloading 3 episodes at once will make it freeze.

So my question is, is this an issue with my router? If yes, can it be fixed? If it can't be fixed, is there a good replacement router that you can recommend?
Thank you!

Cheap MPV as Work Horse?

Hi sifus,

I am a small businessman doing pet products distribution. I am currently driving a VW Polo Sedan, and it has served me well for more than 200k km.
Recently I have rising needs to deliver bulkier and heavier stuffs (up to 400 kg). Loading my Polo's back seat and boot with around 300 kg of goods has caused the rear suspension to be greatly compressed that it doesn't look safe or normal. Neither has it the space required to squeeze all the 400 kg of goods inside. As such, I have been thinking to change to a cheap 7 seater MPV that can suit my needs.

For now, I am looking at Perodua Alza, but I have been wondering: can a cheap 7 seater like Alza or Ertiga take heavier load than normal sedan, since it is meant to carry 7 people instead of 5? Are the suspensions different compared to say, Myvi? Or they just make the car longer and that's it? Will frequent heavy load as such damage the suspension beyond its designed limits? My thought is that since the back of Alza should be able to carry 5 people (5 x 60 kg = 300 kg), it should be able to carry my goods as well, while for the back of a sedan, the bearable weight is only for 3 people.

Thank you for your answers.

Recommend a good VW workshop in Penang

Hi all,

I am currently driving a VW Polo 1.6, which I have clocked 170,000 km already.
I'm having some vibration issues and it seems like my drive shafts and/or engine mounts are bad.

I usually went to Super Excel for my servicing, but they don't seem to be able to properly diagnose my issue (they're more proficient in MB anyway).

So can anyone recommend me a workshop in Penang Island that can help me properly diagnose my problem and also make a good repair, with reasonable price?

Thank you.

Car Vibrating When Accelerating At High Speed

Hi guys,

I am currently driving a 5 years old VW Polo Sedan.
Recently I have noticed that my car is vibrating quite badly when accelerating at high speed. For example when I am cruising on highway at 110 km/h, it is fine, but as soon as I accelerate to overtake, I will notice strong vibration that is coming from the front. It also vibrates when it is climbing a slope.
When I am cruising or accelerating at lower speed (less than 90 km/h), it is not noticeable.

I have checked my tyres, and they are all fine, no bumps. The tyres are also new, which have just been aligned and balance 3 months ago.

Any ideas what could be causing the issue?

Thank you.

ITX vs Micro ITX

Hi people,

I'm planning to build my own rig...but it's been a long time since I last built one myself.
Could anyone please recommend me one for a budget of about RM3000 (excluding OS, including monitor)?
I'm using it mostly for high quality movies and moderate gaming.

I'm wondering should I use ITX or micro ITX? Is there a large difference?

Wireless Broadband for Office

Hi all,

I would like to ask about the best option for wireless broadband to be used in my office.
I realise that wired ones such as streamyx (fibre is not available at my area) is more expensive for business premises, so I'm thinking to get a wireless one.
I have P1 unlimited plan 1mbps in my mind...however is there any other better options?

Thanks
