HP laptop

Hi, i own a hp sleekbook.
its around 3 years old.

i havent been using it alot lately.
Last month when i want to use it i wasnt able to power it up.
After plugin into supply i was able to power it up.

after entering windows i noticed that the battery status is written as battery not detected.

I try various way like updating bios and such but unable to solve those issue.
So i just literally gave up and dont mind keeping my laptop plugin to use it.

However i discovered that after awhile, my laptop auto shuts itself.
Usually while using google chrome(the fan will be louder of course during this time).

If i dont do anything it can be powered on a whole night.

Therefore i suspect is the heat problem.
I googled and found out that faulty battery may contribute to overheating problems.

So my question is, is it ok to remove the non-removable battery out of the laptop and leave the connections as it is?

To remove the battery i need to open the back cover.
I plan to remove the connection and the battery out of the laptop and use it as a desktop

Thank you in advance!
