Car Soaked in Flood

Dear all,

Need some advice from you guys, hopefully this thread will help others in the same situation too.

Last month, car (toyota vios, year 2010) was soaked in flood water around Menara Celcom area. After the flood was cleared, went to car to collect, found that the floor carpet was soaked wet, but the flood water did not reach the seats.

Heard from a friend that the flood water cause the floor of the car to rust. Therefore, he advised to get someone to remove the carpet (the one under the floor mat) and clean underneath to prevent rusting.

Questions:

Is this necessary? And if yes, any recommended shop (preferable around PJ area) to do this?
If not, what other prevention steps to take care to prevent further damage to the car?

Hopefully I can get some good advice from you guys.

i would advise others not to upgrade to the new itunes 7 if you are not so keen on the news features. my reason? it's still very very buggy!

my music tracks are skipping like mad, as though i'm playing a scratched CD. and while playing songs through itunes, other applications that produces sounds will also interfere with itunes (eg. WLM, yahoo messenger, windows media player).

apparently i'm not the only one experiencing this problem, and it's not windows only. mac users have reportedly have problems as well.

some people reported that newly downloaded podcasts are unplayable when transfered to the ipod. some even bricked their ipod while updating. (thankfully it didn't happen to me).

did any of you guys experienced problems as well?
