Is credit card safe to be used for telco autobill

About 7 years back, i used my credit card to auto pay my maxis line (H/P). In Year 2005, i canceled my line and moved to other telecos.

Today, i am shocked that someone is using my credit card to pay maxis under e billing for rm 900.

I also understand maxis also allows third party to use my credit card so long that person is able to know my security code ! and without any confirmation from me. It is like day light roberry to me and they are encouraging it because someone's bill got paid. Who cares ?

I suggest Bank Negara should do something by doing double confirmation before e billing n auto pay through internet is to be effected. Otherwise, it is worse than you lose your credit card . What is the point of having a chip on the card then ? Don't you think password is much much better than security code ????

Maxis still has my old database in their system, and can't they just reconfirm with me for third party bill ?

Guess what ! Now i have to ask my banker to freeze my cards andif i want to use them, i will ask them to re open.
