Due to the recent bauxite-tainted pollution in Kuantan river, it is advisable not to eat the fish or drink the water from kuantan river.

I current stayed in klang valley, should i worry the possibility of eating the contaminated fish that may come from kuantan?

If so, what type of fish that come from kuantan side and should be avoided?

Here’s a real-life cowardly lion!

A man on safari vacation captured these amazing images of a big cat turning from hunter to hunted as it fled from stampeding water buffalo and climbed a tree for safety in Kenya.

The lion had been stalking a newborn calf but soon realized it was outnumbered by a protective herd.

“All of a sudden, literally out of nowhere, a male lion sprang out from his hiding place hightailing for a nearby tree with the buffalo now starting to give chase,” said Charles Comyn, 63, who was visiting the Maasai Mara National Reserve with his wife. “It didn’t take long before the lion had scrambled up the tree, fearing for its life.”

The water buffalo weren’t about to give the lion a free pass, and waited out the big scaredy cat as it gradually lost its grip on the branch.

“The marauding buffalo circled below, smelling the lion,” Comyn told Barcroft Media. “They were not going to let it get away.”

As it lost balance on the tree, the lion summoned one more burst of courage.

The lion let out a mighty snarl, jumped off the tree and bolted to safety. It sprinted toward Comyn and then dashed into nearby brush with its life.

“It was a hair-tingling moment,” Comyn said. “The lion could not hang for long – one could really sense that he was almost doomed – so he had to make another attempt to flee.”

It was only after the dust settled, that Comyn realized this showdown was over a newborn calf.

“Very quickly the buffalo resumed their early morning grazing. It was only then that we spotted the newly born calf in the middle of the herd, which they obviously had been protecting from the lion who possibly had spotted a potential ’light‘ breakfast,” the vacationer said.

“What a magical, unforgettable and, as we later learned, unheard of occurrence.”

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 ― Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan lamented today that he is the “most hated person in Malaysia” because of the newly implemented Good and Services Tax (GST).

“I am Ahmad Maslan, the most hated person in Malaysia because of GST,” he said in a second speech specifically on GST after launching the Product Quality Compliance Seminar at the Technology Park Malaysia here

The deputy minister said he is now immune the relentless attacks on social media, with all kinds of names being thrown at him.

“Among them, the worst thing is shit (tahi) and Muslims don’t like pigs (babi). They say my face is like a pig's shit.

“I am already immune to all kinds of accusations because I know what I am doing for the Malaysian government is the right thing to do,” Ahmad stressed.

The Umno information chief had been at the forefront of disseminating information about the new tax system but had been heavily criticised for some of the comments he had made, including telling university students to cook at home to avoid being burdened by GST.

He also went on to comment about the public uproar over GST charged on prepaid reload cards.

Ahmad said when he met with the chief executive officers of four main telecommunications firms on April 3 to explain the need to absorb GST, their excuse was that it was unfair for them to continue to absorb the tax as they had previously absorbed the 6 per cent sales and services tax.

“Who asked them to absorb the tax? This was their excuse.

“Whatever the excuse, they have to return to the original price because that was the Cabinet’s decision on April 3, that was a while back, why didn’t they act on it then?” he said.

The deputy minister then recalled that the prime minister had issued a gag order on the matter to non-ministers and declined to comment further on the matter.

Hours after his speech, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek announced that the prices for the prepaid reload remain the same but less credit will be available as the 6 per cent GST will be included in the final price.

WWII soldier's lost gift to mom

MILLVILLE, Mass. – This is the story of a loving tribute from a soldier preparing for war to his mother on the other side of the continent, who didn't know if she would ever see her boy again.

The elaborate pillow sham he sent her, lost for more than 70 years, has finally come home, just in time for Mother's Day.

The sham, emblazoned with the word "Mother" and sent in 1942 by Dominic O'Gara from his Army base in California to his mother in the small Massachusetts town of Millville, was discovered last month by a town native on eBay.

The hope now is to put the sham on display in the town's senior center, just yards from the house where the O'Gara family once lived.

"To me, it's come back to where it belongs," said Margaret Carroll, chairwoman of the town Historical Commission. "It's as close to Mrs. O'Gara as it can get."

Donald Lamoureux, who lives in Cumberland, Rhode Island, but who grew up in Millville, spotted an envelope for sale on eBay, and even though he had no idea what was inside, he knew he had to have it when he saw the date and the Millville address. He paid $5 for it.

He was stunned when he looked inside.

"There was this pillow sham that had been sealed away for 73 years, and it looked brand new," he said.

Although it had deep creases from being folded for decades, it wasn't frayed, stained or faded.

The white pillow cover has a blue fringe, and in addition to the word "Mother" in blue, is decorated with red roses with green stems, and the words "Camp McQuaide, Calif.," where O'Gara was stationed.

It also has this famous poem, written by lyricist Howard Johnson:

"It was very touching," Lamoureux said.

Millville, about 40 miles southwest of Boston, had a population of about 1,800 in the 1940s. Even these days, it holds only about 3,200 people.

"My grandfather (Rodrique "Pete" Lamoureux) was a World War II veteran, and Millville is such a small town, I just knew they had to have known each other," he said. "I felt this instant connection."

Where the pillow sham has been the past 70-plus years is a mystery. The 6-cent airmail stamp on the envelope was canceled, indicating it had been delivered. But the cover appeared pristine. O'Gara's mother, Catherine, died in 1956.

Lamoureux bought it from a Rhode Island man who runs a collectibles shop and found the envelope in a box of junk acquired from an anonymous seller.

Of course, Lamoureux wanted to return the pillow cover to O'Gara's family, but he couldn't find any living relatives.

He found that O'Gara, the son of Irish immigrants, was an artilleryman who served in Italy in World War II, then lived for years in the nearby town of Milford before dying in 1998. His wife died in 1974.

Lamoureux turned to his own parents, Donald and Diane Lamoureux, and their friends in Millville, including Carroll and Council on Aging member Ellen Ethier Bowen, who both remembered the O'Gara family. But even Carroll, who has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of town history, came up empty.

The group discussed it and came up with the idea of framing the pillow sham and envelope and hanging them in the senior center. The building is a short walk from the O'Garas' former home in a section of town known as Banigan City, named for the former president of a now-closed rubber manufacturing plant who built the homes for his workers.

Bowen hopes to bring the proposal to the full Council on Aging. It would be perfect if the pillow sham could be hung by Memorial Day, she said.

"This whole story just tugs at your heartstrings," she said.

Jobless models dress as beggar to protest Shanghai

Strictly banned from this year's super classy Shanghai Auto Show and with no where else to turn, a group of jobless models staged a stirring protest in Xujiahui yesterday, fighting for their right to be paid to grind on cars once again.

[/B]This year, the Shanghai Auto Show made the extremely bold move to direct people's attention to the actual cars on display by banning the scantily-clad models that have become ubiquitous at Chinese car shows in recent years. While this created a wealth of opportunity for qualified professional sales representatives and shopping guides, some models were unable to meet the lofty qualifications needed to be a car cleaner or stand-attendant at the show and were left without a job.

To protest their treatment, the unemployed models dressed up in their most fashionable rags and pretended to beg on the curbside outside of Metro City at the Xujiahui Station. They carried signs declaring "We want to survive!" and lamenting that their starving themselves had all been for nothing.

After seeing pictures of the protest online, many netizens wrote in to support the models, admitting that they were rather attractive. While others believed that since it is a car show, the focus should be on the cars instead of on a topless woman making out with a snake. One netizen diplomatically suggested that the down-on-their-luck models should try their luck in Dongguan.

Of course, career opportunities are plentiful for models in China, so if fake-begging doesn't work out they can always wear face-kinis or provide some companionship to lonely gamers.

We can only hope that Japanese porn stars and funeral strippers will be the next to protest for their right to work in China. Though these women will need to be cautious in choosing what day they stage their protest

Finland: Speeding millionaire get 54,000-euro fine

A Finnish man has been handed a whopping 54,000-euro fine for speeding, it's reported.

Finland's speeding fines are linked to income, with penalties calculated on daily earnings, meaning high earners get hit with bigger penalties for breaking the law.

So, when businessman Reima Kuisla was caught doing 103km/h (64mph) in an area where the speed limit is 80km/h (50mph), authorities turned to his 2013 tax return, the Iltalehti newspaper reports. He earned 6.5m euros (£4.72m) that year, so was told to hand over 54,000 euros. The scale of the fine hasn't gone down well with Mr Kuisla. "Ten years ago I wouldn't have believed that I would seriously consider moving abroad," he says on his Facebook page. "Finland is impossible to live in for certain kinds of people who have high incomes and wealth."

There's little sympathy from his fellow Finns on social media. "If you follow the rules you won't have to pay fines," says one user commenting on the Iltalehti website. "He should stop complaining and hang his head in shame instead". Another person says: "Small fines won't deter the rich - fines have to 'bite' everyone the same way." But some say the system isn't fair, and punishes the rich in society. Mr Kuisla might be grateful he doesn't earn more. In 2002, an executive at Nokia was slapped with a 116,000-euro fine for speeding on his Harley Davidson motorbike. His penalty was based on a salary of 14m euros.
