So long story short, Im in need of an extra cash. Or rather, I just want some extra cash to save up as Im living paycheck to paycheck every single month and Im kind of done with it.

One way of course would be to get a better job.

Right now Im working as A Customer Service, Acting Subject Matter Expert. Kind of like a Team Leader's assistance-ish.

But the thing is, Im not OFFICIALLY one yet, because this project has some issues bla bla bla and they're moving people and all. Waiting for vacancy then they will promote, but lantak lah I just put it in my resume.

So basically Gaji as an Agent, but the work of an SME.

I want to find a better paying Job but, would it be better to find one as an L1, or straightaway as the L2 even though Im not officially one just yet ? Or just apply randomly.

Another worry I have is that my company requires me to put in a 3 months notice. In all honesty, I think no Customer Service company will wait for 3 Months. But Im afraid if I tender notice first, I wont be able to get a Job. But my Senior Team Leads, also suggests to wait for me to be confirmed as the SME first, to get the Increment then find a Job.

LMAO honestly Idk what to do, what do you guys would suggest though ?

At the same time I kind of need some side hustles to start saving up extra cash. Any good Side hustles you guys would recommend ? At this point all I can think of is the Typical Grab stuff

Customer Service Salary/Question

Im working in the Customer Service Section for close to 3 years now. I have a few questions about the Job or Careers in General.

Right now Im working 3k Flat, and I have friends that is being paid 4k+ monthly. My fault lah for not negotiating the Salary when I first got the offer 2 years ago.

I have an upcoming Interview with HSBC's Customer Service on Tuesday, and question is, when is the right time to negotiate the Salary ? The Recruiter offered me 3.6k , with the reason that Increments are usually just 20%.

But thinking that Im gonna be doing the same work, with some experiences, wonder if I could request for a bit more. My overall goal for now is to hit the 4k Mark atleast.

From the Email there's a streamline procedures from the HR such as "Online Assessments > (if pass) > HM Interview > (if pass) > Offer > Accept Offer > Vetting Doc Discussion"

Do I discuss the salary during the HM Interview, of the Offer part, how does one bring this subject ?

2nd Questions is, realistically, I dont wanna stay as a Customer Service for all my life. Whats the progression from Cust Service department and how does one move away from it ?

Most common one from my peers that I heard if I dont wanna do Live services is Content Moderations. Other than that, of course there could be the usual Ladder of Upskilling in the same Company to probably QA, TL or whatever.

But what If i wanna move to a different kind of job overall ? Is there anyone experience/experienced this before ? Would love to get some tips on this.

How to negotiate Salary Increase?

At the moment, I have a Basic Salary with 3k a month, working as a Customer Service. A year ago I would think this was a pretty good deal, but I've been working with my Company for a little over a year now and talking to the new hires, they're getting paid 4k a month. If its a few hundreds I wouldn't really mind but a whooping 1k difference kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth, when we're essentially doing the same Job.

If possible, I don't really wanna jump over to a new company because of career growth in this company or at least, for my Resume before doing so. Im applying based off of SPM so I dont have the sijil's advantage like some other does ( I don't know how advantageous this is ). So the plan is to get some sort of Growth from an Agent, to maybe something like a Subject Matter Expert, QA, etc etc, before jumping to other company.

Question is, Is it possible to bring this up to my manager/boss ? My bargaining chip other than performances, would be to mention how new hires or others pay, is not the same as mine. Or is this considered to be a "rude" or "Ill-mannered" to bring up Salary discussions, based off of others salary ?

If anyone ever experienced bringing up Salary Discussion with their Higher ups can you guys let me know how I can tackle this as polite and as positive as possible ? Worst comes to worst I'll just find a new job instead lol

What is the Legal Overtime pay Rate ?

So recently there's been changes to our Overtime pay ( That we werent being notifeid for ) when one of our coworker disputed it. Basically, they dispute why their Offday OT pay was less. They brought to our manager, and there's a discrepancy with the Formula that our manager gave, and the HR gave.

Basically manager gave a formula that Includes a +2.0 Rate (For Offday) and a +1.5 rate (For Normalday OT). But, the ones that our HR shows, does not include any of this Rate up payment.

So basically If i do an Offday OT (Which I already did) There is no 2.0 Rate up payment on it, the payment will be the same as normal rate on normal working day.

Is this normal ? I just want to confirm this cause me and some of our colleagues that needs to do OT for the extra pay are not satisfied with this. We're thinking that, no way Is this normal that working on Offday or doing OT on normal day, is the same normal rate as working on normal days.

Anyone that has extensive knowledge if the Overtime Payments like these on Malaysia are normal ?

Car Veterans, Some tips for New Car Owner ?

Just got my first car (Bezza cause Id thought it save fuels) for job related.

Id like to know from car enjoyers/owners, what’s a Must do/Must have for car longevity.

Like for example Das Cams, or those portable Jumpstart, like , the one that will be super useful incase of emergency.

Other than that, what do you guys recommend to always do for longevity aswell. Or need/have or, neat to have in a car.

Something Neat i consider would probably be Tinted the car, although its not a must, but would be pretty neat to have. Maybe reverse cams or whatever (this one im not too concerned)

Im not really someone who looks into modding car, but some accessories or useful mods would be considered. Also, Does modding car other than of course minat, is there any modification that would benefit long term in terms of fuel saving/care care ? Was wondering if there's something I can consider to do for the sake of improving the overall health/longevity of the car.

Also, what kind of insurance do would you guys suggest and where can I look for more details in this ?

Is it okay to ask for a raise, after probation ?

I am currently training with my current company. Context on what the job is, its a Customer Service as a BPO for a client based in China.

This attracts me because, when i was talking to my new colleagues, the pay varies. My Salary is 3K, meanwhile others receive 3.5k and 3.8k.

I understand that this could be from the experience as my prior experience on the field is only 1 Year as Cust Support, compared to the others who might have more.

But, question is, is it okay theoretically if after 6 months, i keep a positive performance, and requested for a salary increase. Or is this too much for a new hire ?

If so, how would i pitch this ? Do i contact my HR directly after probations, or my supervisor or Team Leads ?

I want to prepare properly for this if so. Do you guys have any take’s or experience in this ? Would gladly appreciate it

What are HR's impression, If i refer a friend ?

So i asked the HR if there's still any opening role for my current job and thought it would be a simple Yes answer, and maybe i'll just direct my friend's thru a public link via the Careers page.

But she requested for a direct resume instead so i sent uhh, 4 of my friend's resume. I only get a smiley respond on this I feel like this might create a bad impression towards the HR department.

Generally, what are the HR's impression on people like me eh ? Bringing in old colleague to a company and all.

Question Regarding Contract Job

So my contract ends on 30th of May end of this month. I have a new offer from a Company to start in June.

The initial situation is, I sent a 1-month serving notice to my current company which I will end on 22nd June, which is over a month, based on my 1-Year contract.

The new company then moves forward with the intake to be on the 5th of June instead of the 22nd. So now the situation is, my 1-month notice is no longer applicable and I will need to resort to a 24-hour notice instead on the 4th of June.

The new company wants to buy out, but apparently, the current company does not allow for a buyout. So if I resign within 24 hours, I will be given a penalty by the Current Company.

But there is no signing of extending my Contract Employment so technically, doesn't that mean Im off from this company on the 30th of May?

I consulted my Supervisor and apparently, they say that even though the contract ends, we will still consider being employed, unless we give in the resignation letter a month before our contract ends to inform that we do not wish to extend the employment.

So, my supervisor's suggestion is, for the buyout situation for the new company to pay me, instead of my current company. So Current Company penalizes me, the new company pays me, and I pay the current company.

This is all so confusing to me.

Got any tips on how I can handle this situation? All of this is consulted via Team Leaders and Supervisors by the way, not directly with the HR. Should I E-mail the HR instead?

Looking to make a transition into IT field.

Currently I'm working for a Customer Service. I've been thinking on Job Hopping to a different Company with better pay. Luckily I managed to secure a spot for another company, but I'm looking to leave the Customer Service side.
I don't see a 'future' or a Career Progression on this field , or for myself. I'm looking to get into IT where I can get some studies, and experience in, and then advance to a somewhat senior role.
Why IT ? Because I actually enjoy that field more, I'm taking Coursera's IT Related course just to fill my curiosity on IT's basic after I finish my current one.

Now the questions is, this may be wishful thinking but, is it possible to enter the field without any prior Helpdesk experience, for someone with no Degree/Diploma ?

After a year in Customer Service, I'm not sure I'm in favor of dealing directly with people's issue now. Yes of course, being in Helpdesk will expose me to a lot of the problem and paths I can take from there, just wondering if this is possible.

The two path I'm mainly interested in are the Data Analytics side, and the Cybersecurity side. Perhaps, both of them need extensive experience. But I'm just wondering if this is a possible feat.

At the moment I'm planning to transfer to a different company with a monthly pay of 3000. If I passed an interview for a Helpdesk job, that pay's higher than this, I might consider. But If the pay's the same, is it worth the transition for the experience ?

My original plan was, meanwhile working for my current job, I would take some sort of Online Educations on the Job, even then, I'm not sure if I want to enter the Data field, or the Securities ..

So my question is :

1) Is it possible to Enter the field without going thru Helpdesk
2) Between Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics, which one would you recommend ?

I'm abit repulsive on entering Helpdesk is the uhh,, situation of dealing with irate customers On-Call is kind of scary. Live Chat is fine, since I just read. But On-Call's a different one.

Extra Question : If I already passed the Interview, but no Offer Letter submitted Yet. Can still Decline the job ? If already sign Offer Letter, can Decline also ?

Can wood shop help sand/cut the kayus ?

Im planning on renovating my room. I've drawn the plan and everything. Thing is i dont have the tools. So if i show the plan, talk to the shop owner, where to cut how big to cut etc etc. Drilling should be fine, its the cutting and sanding of the wood that i have a problem with. do they usually offer services like this ? Or do i need to see a different company/profession for this ?

So ive had a couple of friends, no Unis or even if they do have Unis, the sijil arent even used, work ourside of malaysia. Its not some 'educated' work, The dudes i know prolly work in some farm/Kilang at Korea. A girl is at the same location but i think agency work. This one finished diploma when i asked her she said you only need to know how to speak/read korean. And she learnt it there while working.
And then there's that usual Petik Buah at a farm in Australia.

I know the girl's story tho, she was on a vacation there when a fellow Malaysian asked if she wants to work there. The 2 boys i think followed someone to go there.

Never heard how the kid goes for the Australian work happened tho.

Are most of these just through contacts they know ?

Is there a service where they can go to my House at KL, pack my stuff for me, complete with delivery and all, and send it to me who is currently residing at Sabah ? Of course, they can just go to my house since my friend will be there, can watch over them. PKP is making it a hassle for me to go there, with having to do swab test and all.

I wanna use runner but scared not trustworthy enough. My friends pulak are very lazy bunch. I asked one guy to help me 3 weeks ago, i said i pay him but until now quiet only.

If anyone ever experience something similar or know of a service, that would be great.
The items i want to pack are just my PC and some electronics. Clothes no need. I will go there other times to take.

Is it hard for sabahan to buy a house semenanjung?

Currently staying in KL and thinking of having a careeer/job here. Talked about it to my mom and she babble to me on how its hard for sabahan to own a house in semenanjung. Personally i think this is more of a prejudice she has of semenanjung because of all the negative dealings she had with people from here. she also said how my cousins who worked here couldnt buy one. i for one also think this is all because of how they are not qualified not because they are sabahan and maybe it is more because of how financially unstable they are. To any sabahan that is living here, is this true or is it all just prejudice from my mom ? or will there be any significantly hard procedure to owning one ? Is there any sabahan who managed to buy a house here ?

My friend went to a nightclub that gives free admission to girls and let them open up a bottle or something for free if they bring enough people. Anyone know where this is ? Its around shah alam/kl/selangor not sure which. But im 80% sure heard its shah alam.

I was wondering if there's any Karate class Around subang ? I currently live in Subang Bestari Damai Apartment . I dont mind if its Kyoukushin or any other style as long as its karate . If theres isnt any place that i could travel by car ? Maybe below 30 min . preferably ones that are active in competition . ?

If there's no Karate class any martial arts will do tho . Except silat and tae kwon do .
