Old PS2 to give away

I have an old PS2 I found during spring cleaning. It is missing cable to TV and controller. Based on my brother, it was working when he put it away.

Anyway, thought it would be a shame to just throw it away. If anybody is interested, please pm to take it off my hands.

I live near Federal Mosque and Publika. I will be in Bejaya Time Square on 30 September afternoon.

If nobody is interested or it is too much trouble, I will dispose of it on 1 October.

EPF and Fixed-Price ASB Fund

I was wondering about ASB fixed-price unit trust and EPF.

Both are funds that invest pool of money from account holders in assets (e.g. equity, bond and property).

My question is how can both funds maintain value of unit trust at RM1 (for ASB fixed-price unit trust) while for EPF, the value in your account can never go down?

This can be contrasted with a normal unit trust where value of each unit fluctuates based on value of underlying assets.

If assets held by fixed-price unit trust or EPF fall in value, won't that cause the value of assets held by EPF or ASB fixed-price unit trust to deviate from numbers in unit holder's or EPF account holder's statement. This could result in the fund not having assets to cover amount owed to unit holders or EPF account holders. If things get really bad, either fund can become an empty tin that uses new contribution to cover withdrawals.

For contrast, I include this link from Straits Times that talks about CPF. In it, it mentions that EPF is able to give higher rates because it takes on market risk (directly invest in assets whose value fluctuates) while for CPF, the money from CPF holders are just used to buy Singapore Government Securities which justify why the value in CPF statement can only go up as long as Singaporean Government can meet its obligations.

I would like to hear comments on my line of logic on sustainability of EPF or fixed-price ASB. It would be good if somebody can look into what is the trend on amount owed by EPF/ASB to unit or account holders vs value of assets they actually hold. I've tried skimming through both annual reports but no clear indication of what is value of all assets held vs their liability to account holders. I couldn't find anything on total assets held for unit trust and liability to all account holders for EPF.
