Are you proud of speaking Manglish?

Malaysians are known for their peculiar brand of English - Manglish, a smattering of local dialects mixed with English. We speak Manglish to other Malaysians in casual conversations, like to our friends in lowyat forum. Our Manglish sound quite similar to Singaporeans speaking Singlish.

Thing is, the Singaporean government is trying discourage Singlish from being perpetuated in Singapore, to increase their standard of English presumably. What about Malaysia, do you guys speak Manglish when you have foreign friends around you? Why or why not? Are you embarrassed of speaking Manglish with outsiders? Should Malaysians refrain from speaking Manglish under all circumstances? Or do you think Manglish is an integral part of our Malaysian identity that we will never be successful in any 'Speak proper English' campaign?

But be more specific can? Like what is your favorite flavour of Haagen Dazs? Or Baskin Robbins? And how do you like your ice-cream?

I like my Häagen-Dazs Belgian Chocolate spinkled with belgian milk chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream. Yummy!!!

How many of you guys are waiting to buy iPhone 6 with U Mobile's new plan? They are offering the iPhone 6 at old price for both prepaid and postpaid. On top of that, those poor fellas with no credit card can buy the phone through installment plan with U MicroCredit, for as low as RM98 per month. Not bad huh?

And what was the longest stretch of time you have managed to survive without sleep?

For me, I usually have around 4 or 5 hours of sleep each night. I would love to sleep more though! It's just become a habit of mine to sleep really late...

Also, i remember the most time I went without sleep was for 48 hours....yeah, that was crazy. Don't recommend it.

I know most Malaysians don't but in Australia people like to tip their waiters. In fact, it's considered rude not to leave a minimal tip. Some waiters expect it, especially if it's a fancy restaurant. What about other countries?

Most people have this romantic notion that people should only get married for love. But then you see so many gorgeous actresses getting hitched to ugly old men like Hong Kong actress Gigi Lai, or some don't even marry the dude - they just pump out babies for the guy in exchange for lots of moolah, such as the Isabella girl with the son of Lee Kar Shing, who's like 20 years older than her. Recently Jay Chou married a nubile young thing, who's like 14 years younger than him, and the girl is only what - 21? She has her whole life ahead of her, so would she be so quick to marry Jay Chou if he wasn't a famous celebrity but only your neighbourhood char kuey teow seller? Women who marry for money are scorned by the public as 'gold diggers', but I see some hypocrisy and jealousy here. Who cares what reason two people have to get married? It's between the two of them. One receives money, the other one a trophy wife. Fair deal. Back in the old days, young girls in villages got married off in arranged marriages to men from neighbouring villages they hardly know, and their marriages lasted. These were clearly marriages of convenience/practical reason to continue the family line & help the girl's family, and not for love. Since when did the notion of marriage turn so idealistic - it's all about love, or it's wroooong?

Do you have good make-up technique to apply eyeliner? Care to share? Cuz I am a noob and one of my friends just shared with me this YouTube video of someone teaching how to apply eyeliner with an eyelash curler. It's actually pretty cool! But does it really work? Okay, yoga has become quite popular in Malaysia for quite some time. I've tried stuff like hot yoga (Bikram yoga) where you do yoga in a room with high temperatures. But I'm not a regular yoga practitioner. For those of you who do yoga, could you share what are the benefits you found from practicing yoga regularly?

Also, if one isn't very fit (not much exercise) nor flexible, is it safe to try out yoga? Or will you get injured easily trying to do those tricky twists and contortions of the body?

Interested to learn more from everyone.

Hey peeps,

Been a longtime lurker. First time poster. What is the movie you're most looking forward to seeing in 2015? And why?

For me, it's got to be 50 Shades of Grey.....hehehe, I'm kidding. It's probably the conclusion of the Hunger Games series. Mockingjay - Part 1 last year was a real letdown. Nothing much happened in it, clearly there was no need to split the book into two movies.....eh, such a blatant money grab. Most of the action was reserved for MockingJay - Part 2. So hopefully, the movie will finish with a bang and justify us viewers waiting a whole year to see its conclusion.

What about you guys? Any exciting movie you can't wait to see in 2015?
