(WTA) Pre-U for studying in Germany

Hey guys I'm really interested in studying in Germany but i don't know where to start.. I've been doing alot of research and overall there isn't much information on how to go about studying in Germany on Lowyat. I'm a SPM 2014 student and I want to either pursue Chemical Engineering/Pharmacy. The problem is, I'm not sure which Pre-U will be the most suitable choice for studying in Germany and I have some confusion over the requirements etc.

Basically I know that most German universities accept STPM but as i said earlier, I'm not sure if it would adequately prepare me for the German education system. On top of that, I will have to attend a German Language course that takes 9-12 months to complete while taking STPM to prepare me for German proficiency test (TestDaF) and for everyday conversations etc. I'm worried that I can't cope with it.

Another option is A-levels. I have emailed a few German universities and most of them require ATLEAST one AS level language. As far as i know, colleges in Malaysia typically don't offer any AS language subject (if I'm wrong please correct me) for A levels. So if i were to take A levels, I would have to take a AS language tuition(in my case i would take English) (I'm not sure if A level English tuition even exist here in Msia lol) AND take German language classes at the same time. It would be just too complicated and confusing for me plus the workload is going to be torturous and I'm sure I wont be able to handle it.

Next option is GMI GAPP/ INTEC A level German (ALG) program. These programmes are only for students who want to pursue Engineering. I'm not entirely sure if these programmes are accepted by all German universities or not. These programmes will definitely be irrelevant if i decide to pursue Pharmacy but if I were to pursue Chemical Engineering will this be a wise choice? My concern is the recognition of ALG and GAPP.

Last option is IB program. IB is really expensive (RM90k+) so unless I get a scholarship or some kind of external funding i don't think i will consider IB. I don't think its worth paying that much money for a Pre-U programme.

I know there's such thing as Studienkolleg (Foundation) but I want to do my Pre-U in Malaysia so that is not an option for me.

Sorry I have so many questions SPM results are going to be out in 9 days and I have to make a decison quickly.. I hope any of you students that are currently studying/studied in Germany can help clear my confusion and give me some advice on what would be the best choice. I appreciate it
