"Ujian air kencing suspek juga didapati negatif, manakala pemeriksaan di rumah suspek juga tidak sebarang dadah ditemui," katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.

Azli berkata, siasatan awal mendapati kejadian berlaku jam 6.30 petang apabila Perodua Ativa dipandu seorang guru berusia 29 tahun dari arah Kampung Bukit menuju ke Tok Molor, di sini dirempuh sebuah Perodua Myvi dari arah bertentangan yang tiba-tiba memasuki laluannya.

Katanya, pelanggaran itu menyebabkan kedua-dua kenderaan mengalami kerosakan, namun tiada kecederaan dilaporkan.

Beliau berkata, kes hanya dilaporkan kepada polis jam 8.19 malam selepas kejadian itu tular di media sosial.

Beliau berkata, pemandu Perodua Myvi yang bekerja sebagai pembantu kedai makan turut menggunakan lesen memandu yang sudah tamat tempoh.

"Polis mengeluarkan saman terhadap pemandu terbabit mengikut Rule 10 LN166/59 kerana gagal mengawal kenderaan dan Rule 26(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 kerana lesen memandu tamat tempoh.

"Saya memohon orang ramai supaya tidak membuat sebarang spekulasi atau andaian sendiri tanpa fakta yang tepat," katanya.

Kes diklasifikasikan mengikut Rule 10 LN166/59 dan siasatan lanjut masih dijalankan.

US planned to install Ahmadinejad as Iran leader

The United States and Israel went into war on Iran intending to replace the regime’s leadership with hardline former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, The New York Times reported.

Quoting US officials who were briefed on the “audacious plan”, the newspaper said things “quickly went awry”, and Ahmadinejad’s “current whereabouts and condition are unknown”.

After the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, US President Donald Trump mused that it would be best if “someone from within” Iran took over the country, the Times reported.

“To say that Mr Ahmadinejad was an unusual choice would be a vast understatement,” the newspaper said.

“While he had increasingly clashed with the regime’s leaders and had been placed under close watch by the Iranian authorities, he was known during his term as president, from 2005 to 2013, for his calls to ‘wipe Israel off the map’. He was a strong supporter of Iran’s nuclear program, a fierce critic of the United States and known for violently cracking down on internal dissent.”

The newspaper noted, however, that in a 2019 interview, Ahmadinejad praised President Trump and argued for a rapprochement between Iran and the US.

“Mr Trump is a man of action,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. “He is a businessman and therefore he is capable of calculating cost-benefits and making a decision. We say to him, let’s calculate the long-term cost-benefit of our two nations and not be shortsighted.”

The Times said Trump was relishing the success of the special forces raid that kidnapped Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, and the willingness of his interim replacement, Delcy Rodriguez, to work with the White House, and believed the same model could be replicated in Iran.

‘A jailbreak operation’

However, the US-Israeli plan, which Ahmadinejad had been consulted about, “quickly went awry”, according to the US officials who spoke to the Times.

Ahmadinejad was reportedly wounded on the first day of the war by an Israeli strike on his home in Tehran, which was intended to free him from house arrest, American officials told the Times. Ahmadinejad survived the strike, they said, but after the near-miss, he changed his mind about the regime change plan, and he has not been located since.

An article in the Atlantic in March said the attack on the house was “in effect a jailbreak operation”, citing anonymous associates of Ahmadinejad.

After that article, the Times said it received confirmation from an associate of Ahmadinejad that he recognised the air strike was an attempt to free him. The associate said the Americans believed Ahmadinejad could lead the country and had the ability to manage “Iran’s political, social and military situation”.

But although Ahmadinejad was able to escape house arrest despite his injuries, the newspaper said he became disillusioned with the regime change plan and stopped cooperating.

Ahmedinejad, who was president from 2003 to 2013, became increasingly at odds with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“Ahmadinejad has clashed with regime leaders, accusing them of corruption, and rumours have swirled about his loyalties,” the Times said. “He was disqualified from numerous presidential elections, his aides were arrested and Mr Ahmadinejad’s movements were increasingly restricted to his home.”

It added: “People close to Mr Ahmadinejad have been accused of having too close ties to the West, or even spying for Israel.”

Kota Tinggi: Dua beranak maut dalam kemalangan membabitkan dua kereta di Kilometer 71 Jalan Johor Bahru-Mersing, hari ini.

Ketua Polis Daerah Kota Tinggi, Superintendan Yusof Othman berkata, pihaknya menerima maklumat kemalangan pada 5.15 petang, membabitkan Proton Persona dinaiki tiga sekeluarga dan Perodua Bezza.

Katanya, Proton Persona dipandu lelaki berusia 56 tahun, dengan penumpang terdiri daripada isterinya (51 tahun) dan anak perempuan, 14, manakala Perodua Bezza dipandu lelaki berumur 27 tahun.

"Kemalangan dipercayai berlaku apabila Proton Persona hilang kawalan dan memasuki laluan bertentangan sebelum bertembung Perodua Bezza.

"Akibatnya, kedua-dua penumpang Proton Persona parah di kepala dan disahkan meninggal dunia di lokasi kejadian, manakala pemandu parah serta dihantar ke Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI) Johor Bahru untuk rawatan lanjut.

"Pemandu Perodua Bezza pula tidak cedera," katanya dalam kenyataan.

Beliau berkata, kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 41(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 dan orang ramai yang mempunyai maklumat diminta tampil membantu siasatan.

KOTA BHARU, April 28 — Police will submit the investigation paper (IP) involving Melor assemblyman Wan Rohimi Wan Daud to the Deputy Public Prosecutor in the near future after his statement was recorded yesterday.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said Wan Rohimi gave good cooperation throughout the statement-recording process conducted at the Kota Bharu district police headquarters (IPD).

He said the statements obtained so far are satisfactory and will form part of the investigation before being referred to the prosecution.

“Wan Rohimi attended the Kota Bharu IPD yesterday to give his statement regarding the issue linked to him.

Sg Petani wife assault suspect same man in earlier case, say cops

SUNGAI PETANI: Police have confirmed that the suspect believed to have assaulted his wife, causing her to suffer a miscarriage in Ambangan Heights here, is the same man involved in a previous case in Johor, in which his wife was beaten into a coma.
Kuala Muda police chief Hanyan Ramlan said the 43-year-old suspect is currently being hunted by police, and the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

“This is the same man involved in the Johor case. We are investigating all possible leads from every angle and are tracking down the suspect in this incident,” he told reporters today.

He said the victim is still receiving treatment at Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim here for multiple injuries sustained to her body.

Yesterday, it was reported that a 39-year-old civil servant suffered bodily injuries and facial bruising, allegedly after being assaulted by her husband, resulting in a miscarriage at 12 weeks.

In 2021, Jahidah Nordin, who was also pregnant at the time, was reported to have been assaulted by her husband at an apartment in Larkin, Johor, resulting in severe injuries, including brain bleeding that required part of her skull to be removed, as well as fractures to her jaw, spine and ribs.

Now aged 48, Jahidah remains bedridden, although she safely delivered a baby boy in November 2021.

On Nov 4 last year, the Johor Bahru High Court upheld a 10-year prison sentence against her husband, Rosmaini Abd Raof, 43, a trader, for causing grievous harm to Jahidah, which left her in a coma.

Rosmaini’s lawyer later applied for a stay of execution of the prison sentence pending the filing of an appeal to the Court of Appeal, which was granted by the court.

You will see from our recent videos that ever since we officially received our new Malaysian Camper we have had numerous problems to the point that we have only managed to sleep in it for 2 nights before realising the structure and canvas leaked. As a result we have had to cancel our Malaysian road trip. Lots of you have commented that we should go back to the build company and get them to fix the issues as surely after we had paid the full bill of 231,000 MYR there must be a guarantee. And question why we should pay to rectify the issues

We collected the camper and after sharing some of our experiences online the owner of the company initiated legal action against us by sending us a legal letter of demand.

Since then the Camper build company owner has posted disturbing repeated racial and derogatory remarks directed at white individuals, made under the guise of political commentary. Which we took personally and it is not appropriate for us to reshare it publically.

Thankfully the post has since been removed however we would not ever want to be associated with a person who can post such things and it also poses potential personnel security issues for us directly.

The owner of the company also posted our personal phone number on their facebook page which we reported to facebook and it has now been removed.

So with their legal action still pending you will understand why we will not ever go back to the build company and for legal reasons can not talk to them directly. We hope that answers your questions.

Philippines seeks deeper energy cooperation with Iran

MANILA: The Philippines is committed to “deepening cooperation” with Iran, particularly on energy, Manila’s foreign secretary said today as the import-dependent archipelago jockeys with other regional countries for desperately needed oil.
The price of fuel has hit historic highs in the Philippines since treaty ally the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Feb 28, with the war forcing the partial closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz.

President Ferdinand Marcos declared a state of national energy emergency last week, later saying that “nothing was off the table” as the country of 116 million tried to meet its need for fuel.

Foreign secretary Theresa Lazaro said in a post on social media platform X today that she had explored “key avenues of operation” in a meeting with Iranian ambassador Yousef Esmaeilzadeh that also included Philippine energy secretary Sharon Garin.

“Building on the momentum of our Political Consultations last November 2025, we are committed to deepening our cooperation across all fronts, particularly energy cooperation,” she said of the meeting.

The foreign affairs department offered no further details of the meeting, but it comes just days after Malaysia announced its tankers would be permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without paying any toll to Iran.

The Iranian embassy in Manila declined to comment on the meeting.

A stock exchange filing on Monday revealed that the Philippines’ sole oil refinery had secured nearly 2.5 million barrels of Russian crude out of “extreme necessity”.

AFP had previously reported that a tanker filled with Russian crude oil had arrived at the harbour servicing refinery operator Petron Corp, a purchase unthinkable before the US eased sanctions tied to Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

The president bragged that the U.S. is planning military action against another country, and suggested it could begin “soon.”

Dana Bash, CNN’s chief political correspondent, told the network’s News Central that she had a five-minute phone call with President Donald Trump about the war in Iran in which the president “quickly turned to Cuba” unprompted.

“He said that the U.S. is doing very well militarily, quote, ‘better than anybody could have dreamed.’ He said that he rebuilt the military in his first term. He’s using it in his second,” Bash said.

“And then he quickly turned to Cuba. He said, without being asked, ‘Cuba is going to fall pretty soon, by the way, that Cuba is going to fall. They want to make a deal so badly.’”

Trump added that he is sending Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the communist regime to “see how that works out.”

“We’re really focused on this one right now. We’ve got plenty of time, but Cuba’s ready—after 50 years,” Trump said, according to CNN’s write-up of the phone call with Bash.

“I’ve been watching it for 50 years, and it’s fallen right into my lap because of me. It’s fallen, but it’s nevertheless fallen right into the lap. And we’re doing very well,” the 79-year-old added.

The so-called “Peace President” Trump has dropped other suggestions that the U.S. could force regime change in Cuba, once the war in Iran, which has no real end in sight, is over.
