Current biotech landscape in Malaysia, anyone?

Hi there, I have a quick question to whoever that are doing biotech, or any other biology-related majors. If you can briefly describe, what is the state of biotech industry in Malaysia? Growing? Stagnant? Nothing much? I am asking this because I am doing Biotechnology now somewhere in the United States. I am thinking to stay here couple more years before going home, so to make informed decisions before going back, it would be great if I can get inputs from fellas in Malaysia. Thanks!

If you were to have a coffee with an SPM student

My friends and I had organized a few students outreach programs in the past, specifically targeting the students seating for SPM examination, and also the SPM leavers waiting for the results to be announced. Most popular questions were "how to get scholarship", "what course to choose", and "how to study abroad", among others.

However, year after year my friends and I figured out that students are gradually losing the interest to think forward about what to be in the future. To us, they seem to live and have fun in the present world, not thinking a bit about their future. I dare to say this because the current groups of student that we are mentoring now doesn't seem to be that interested to talk about tertiary education or any kind of intellectual discussion.

We don't sit comfortably with this kind of trend. So my question is, "if you were to have a talk or discussion with high school students, what would you say to them?"

I really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.
