1. Dell Vostro 14 5480 - i5 5200U, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM, No optical drive, 52 Whr, 1.55 KG (RM2300) - 1 Yr warranty

2. Lenovo Thinkpad E440 - i5 4210M, 1TB HDD, 4GB RAM, DVD burner, 62 Whr, 2.16 KG (RM2500) - 1 Yr warranty

Which should I get?

Also I will need to get 1 more year of warranty at least. Dell provides option of additional 1 or 2 years, so total cost of ownership is

+ 1 yr option = RM2300 + RM167 + RM100 portable DVD burner = RM2567
+ 2 yr option = RM2300 + RM393 + RM100 portable DVD burner = RM2793

Whereas for Lenovo, there's only the 2 year add on option, so total cost of ownership is

+ 2 yr option = RM2500 + RM400 = RM2800

I think while the other additional the deal breaker for me would boil down to four things:

1. Which one has better overall build quality and pleasurable use experience (better screen color, sound quality and least laggy and other minor problems)?

2. Is a + 2 yr option really needed? If it's not, then By going for the dell + 1 yr option, total saving is RM233.

3. Is the difference in 10 Whr for the two units a big deal?

4. The above extended warranty rates are quoted on Dell website, during attempt to purchase. If I buy from a retailer that doesn't provide service to buy extended warranty, can I still buy myself from Dell at the same price?
