Problem with Wireless USB Adapter

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Last Week

Problem description:

Im using a belkin wireless usb adapter for the desktop in my room. All other laptops and desktop have no problem connecting to the wireless network. So i called belkin regarding this wireless usb adapter.. after some troubleshooting over the phone, their technical team told me that my usb adapter is not functioning and i need to replace it.

As i need internet for my desktop.. i went out and got myself another wireless usb adapter (TP-Link). However, after installing the new usb adapter.. i still cant connect to the wireless network. It shows that my device is working properly but i cant detect any wireless network. All other computers in my hse can detect more than one network.. but not my the 2 wireless usb adapter on my desktop.

Can someone please help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Details of the complaint :

I was buying for a 2nd phone in the forumer, this guy drop by my thread saying he's selling his W595. So i SMSed him saying him that i need it urgently and i will get it today.
After some confirmation, he agreed to sell the phone to me.

So we set a time, at 1st he say 9pm. But because its abit rush for me, so i ask for 10pm and he agrees.

30 min before the deal, he SMSed me saying this "Bro, sry really bad luck my phone drop on floor.. Now blank screen. Cant sell :'(" .
I was like, WTH, I rushed to the bank to get money, and i'll b reaching in another 10 min. Now you tell me you drop your phone. And not its like 30 min before the deal u drop the phone.. how bad luck it is.

Then, I sms back telling him that I'll b reaching soon. He tell me this " But i dun1 my name blacklist in lowyat le. I just sked my phone got problem if sell to u"

Do you actually expect me to believe all this ?

According to him, there's another buyer for his phone. Im here to warn that poor guy, please becareful if you're dealing with this etiper guy. According to him, he DROPPED his phone and experiecing BLANK SCREEN !

Wireless Adapter for IBM laptop

Hi.. Im getting a wireless usb adapter for my mum's IBM laptop. I heard that IBM uses different wireless adapter.
the IBM laptop is P4 and running with win xp.. i think the model is R40.. Not really sure tho.

So which type of adapter is suitable for the laptop ? Price range ? Which brand is better ?
Any things to consider before buying the adapter ?
