How to Motivate Yourself to Workout (PART 2)
How to Motivate Yourself to Workout (PART 2)

5) Reward Your Gains- Getting incentives for hard work is how we continue to keep it up. So it makes sense to apply this tactic to exercising, give yourself rewards when you reach your goals. For someone who is getting in shape, finding smaller clothes that fit better is a great feeling; so go shopping and splurge a little on yourself – you deserve it.
6) Get on a healthy diet- One of the biggest reasons people stop exercising is because they don’t see any visible results. A lot of the times, this is because they haven’t adopted healthier eating habits. The thing is, when you work out, your body requires you to take in more calories than you would in a sedentary lifestyle, you even feel hungrier in general when you workout. Unfortunately, this doesn’t excuse you to eat unhealthy foods (all the time). Therefore, it is best to eat healthy/nutritional foods; it’ll help you get the results you want, and motivate you to keep up with it.
7) Meet yourself Halfway- It’s understandable that you will face days where your body simply wouldn’t allow you to workout. But, you have to identify if this is because you are physically incapable that day, or if you are letting your mind get the best of you. Do yourself the favor and go to the gym, at least get there. If you really don’t want to exercise, then just go back home. But, chances are that because you’ve managed to come this far, you’d want to step in and at least do some physical activity. If you can’t give a quality reason for why you should stay, then you should go!
Keep in mind that it only takes one absence to abandon your routine so keep such days out of your way as much as possible.
8) Declare Your Motives- Dr. Robert Cialdini is a psychology and marketing professor who wrote the very popular, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. In this book he outlines categories of persuasion; commitment and consistency is one of them. Under this rule, he states that people are more likely to stay on path if they are made to verbally commit to their goals; even if the initial motivation dissipates, the person will continue to perform the deed in fear of tarnishing the self-image. So, go on and declare your plan to workout on all the social media platforms and let your friends know. Maybe the fears of being a failure in others’ eyes will motivate you to keep going.
9) Surround Yourself with Success- Seeing and hearing success stories of other people is a great place to find encouragement for yourself. Whether it is because you are actually motivated, or envious, makes no difference if it gets the job done. There are countless personalities online who blog about their experiences and offer great advice worth checking out. Reading more about health related issues (through internet or magazines) also puts your mindset in an appropriate atmosphere. Making friends with people at the gym who seem to be experienced is also a great way. You simply want yourself surrounded by likeminded people who would encourage rather than seed negativity into you.
10) Get a Buddy- One of the easiest ways to keep you motivated is to have a friend who is willing to get on the same boat. Aside from enhancing the fun in working out, a good workout buddy can help you stay motivated; when one falls (or feels lazy), the other can provide the encouragement needed to continue. Although, it is best to do this with someone who you know will not influence you in a negative way; you don’t need a workout buddy who isn’t as serious or committed.

22 Entries Confirmed For LTdL 2015 (Langkawi)

the 20th edition of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) from March 8 to 15 is set to cover an overall distance of 1,104.9km over 8 stages.
THE EIGHT STAGES

Stage 1: Langkawi-Langkawi (101.1km)

Stage 2: Alor Setar-Sungai Petani (170km)

Stage 3: Gerik-Tanah Merah (170km)

Stage 4: Kota Baru-Kuala Berang (165.4km)

Stage 5: Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan (200km)

Stage 6: Maran-Karak (96.6km)

Stage 7: Shah Alam-Genting Highlands (105.7km)

Stage 8: Kuala Kubu Baru-Kuala Lumpur (96.1km)

Total distance: 1104.9km

Stage one brings the riders to the race’s namesake, the island of Langkawi for a short 101.1km beginning at the Underwater World in Pantai Chenang. The short stage allows the entire race caravan to travel by boat over to the mainland of Malaysia ahead of day two, which takes the riders 170 kilometres from Alor Star to Sunai Petani.

The general classification will get their first taste of the mountains on stage three, which has been billed as the most scenic of the entire race. It is another 170-kilometre long day beginning in Gerik and heading Northwest to Tanah Merah and a climb to the top of the Titiwangsa range.

After a brief diversion into the hills, the sprinters will get another chance to make their mark on the 165.4-kilometre stage four from Kota Bharu to Kuala Berang. At 200 kilometres, stage five is the longest day of the entire race and brings the riders down the coast from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan. The undulating terrain and coastal winds make this more than just a straightforward sprint stage.

The fight for the general classification will begin resume on a punchy stage six from Maran to Karak. With Friday a day of rest in Malaysia, it is the shortest stage of the week at just 96.6 kilometres and should be another fast and furious day. The annual pilgrimage the Genting Highlands returns to its traditional position on the penultimate day of racing. The steep and unforgiving climb will decide the overall classification. The sprinters will then get their last chance for victory with a city centre circuit around Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Hockey

Malaysia rose to the occasion to record their biggest-ever win over Oman, winning 7-0 in a Group A match to top the table in the World Hockey League Second Round at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium.

It was Malaysia’s second straight win, having beaten Ukraine 5-1 on Saturday. Malaysia will wrap up the group fixtures against winless Singapore on Tuesday.

Skipper Mohd Razie Abdul Rahim started the ball rolling, sending a low flick past Oman goalkeeper Said Al Hasni in Malaysia’s first penalty corner in the seventh minute.

Forward Faizal Saari then made it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Midfielder Mohd Marhan Mohd Jalil put his name on the score sheet with two quick goals in the 22nd and 27th minutes.

By the 38th minute, Malaysia were leading 5-0 up with Faizal scoring his second goal of the match and third in the tournament.

Malaysia eased off in the second half, adding two more goals through Izwan Firdaus Ahmad Tajuddin (44th) and Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin (46th).

National coach Tai Beng Hai was full of praise for his players.

“We played much better than we did in the first match against Ukraine. I am happy as the players played to their true form and made good use of the chances.

“Oman played a robust game, but it did not affect us. Only defender Faiz (Helmi Jali) received a knock on his knee. We need to check how bad the injury is,” said Beng Hai.

On the upcoming match against Singapore, Beng Hai said: “I want another good performance. Although Singapore lost both their matches, we cannot take them lightly. We are here to win every match and live up to our tag as the top-seeded team.”

In another Group A match, Ukraine registered their first win by edging Singapore 2-1.

Oleksandr Diachenko gave Ukraine the lead with a field goal in the 44th minute. But their joy was short-lived as Singapore, who lost 3-2 to Oman on Saturday, equalised two minutes later through a penalty corner conversion by Muhammad Haseef Salim.

Viacheslav Paziuk was Ukraine’s hero, scoring the winning goal off a penalty stroke in the 56th minute.
