Hi all LYN sifus, I really need some help on my own test lab, I am creating multiple networks to test my lab environment on vmware. So therefore i need to create a few networks.

as attached,

there is 1 internet from WAN then goes to Router A, which is RT-N66U from asus with Merlin firmware. it has 2 OpenVPN instance currently.
This is the first network segment 10.0.1.0/24 which all my usual clients will connect to like wireless, wired and so on.

then i want to create 3 more networks as shown,

and there are 3 more routers connected to the switch which the switch is connected to Router A.

10.1.0.0/24 (Router 1, Tomato USB) WAN: 10.0.1.30
10.1.1.0/24 (Router 2, Linksys Stock) WAN: 10.0.1.31
10.1.2.0/24 (Router 3, OpenWRT) WAN: 10.0.1.32

in my Router A, i have the static routing set as shown...

an all the router below the Router A. I had set to "Router Mode" which disable NAT>

I can ping from Router A segment to all the hosts of other segments no problem.

however i cannot ping in reverse, that is a Host from 10.0.1.100 can ping to 10.1.0.100 and 10.1.1.100 and 10.1.2.100 (sorry for the IP addressing convention) but not the other way round, host 10.1.0.100, 10.1.1.100 and 10.1.2.100 are unable to ping 10.0.1.100

IF, i set to "Gateway Mode", which i believe not the right way... the situation reverse, all the 10.1.0.100, 10.1.1.100 and 10.1.2.100 can ping 10.0.1.100 but not the other way round.

Please all Sifus take a look and enlighten me, where did i do wrong...

forgot to mention, in either way, all networks can access internet alright.

update: Router 1, 2 and 3 can ping host in 10.0.1.0/24 no problem, but its DHCP leases cannot....

clients from the 10.1.0.100, 10.1.1.100 and 10.1.2.100 can ping each other hosts no problem.

Hi all,

I have a quick question... I myself is totally not into cars... so i dunno much about pricing and parts and where the issues...

I driving a 7/8 years kelisa manual 1.0
lately my engine "jump", especially when going up hill and when changing gears...

so i took it to a workshop, a workshop which already went there many times, mainly due to family members all going there...

but i getting more and more sceptical about the pricing. especially almost 2/3 services sure have some big problem when can used up more than 1k.

and last time i get a shocked when my gf's myvi O2 sensor get quoted around RM600++ while we took out and found out some quote RM250.

back to question, the kelisa, seems 3 part of the mounting get spoiled, and i get quoted price of RM 860, for 1 part ori (main part) 2 parts compatible i guess. if not mistaken the price also including workmahsip which charges 250 i think. and my car needs to spend overnight there, coz they need to unmount engine.

so all the sifus, ... haha just a quick question, did i get ripped off?

its very hard to find a good honest shop ... =( i dun mind pay high as long as its good... haiz

Hi all, good day =D

I'm getting my new house key this week, my 1st ever home (just a small town house, Ground floor) .

And since many months ago, i already have the idea that i want to renovate on my own (except the electrical part, i scare die ), and im a person who like to get down to do the dirty jobs

While as usual, i getting lots of discouragement from everybody around me. while i keep finding ways and research on how to do it myself.
I've seen and watch numerous articles in the net, over the youtube, and sometimes peek how other do it.
And at some point i feel like there are many things can be done diy, like tiling ( i going to retile my whole house on my own), painting, and plumbing jobs, as even gals in mat salleh counties can diy. why cant us?

The reno prices nowadays is too damn skyhigh and it usually comes with risks, like running away and/or give u shitty outcome that may require you to renovate again.
Aside from that, most of them are not properly trained, not certified (in malaysia there is no certification?), do not follow proper procedure, wrong way to reno all along... and rushing jobs)
And the horror stories i heard around me are scary enuf to convince myself to TRY to diy... though some good ones are either, too expensive? too arrogant? or just simply do not want to work on any other type of house unless semi-d and above.

Or perhaps simply its my luck not too good hahaha

I will post my progress as i work on here, and hopefully i wont give up lol.

But before i begin anything, i would like to hear the opinions on fellow lyn... haha please let know what do you think.

And any forumer that diy before can please share some information like where can i rent powertools? hmmm those quite heavy powertools...

bought an EOS550D and tried to install the EOS Utility but only found out that I am unable to use the remote shooting feature. Using the Cable Supplied and Updated the ESO to latest version.

I had included the screenshot. it seems everything has been greyed out except "Monitor Folder"

Any help please ....?

Hi all Sifus ... i have a question, what is Public LAN?

lets say I had subscribed a service from ISP.

It gives these information in the invoice...

Customer WAN IP xxx.xxx.xxx.118
Customer WAN IP Gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.117
Customer WAN IP Subnet /252
Customer Public LAN xxx.xxx.xxx.1-xxx.xxx.xxx.6

Hmm I am not very good in Networking, but is there anybody can help me translate the details?

I know dat WAN IP is how other ppl can see me. It is unique.
But how about WAN IP gateway dat seems like this gateway only for me?
The subnet of 252 means I have 2 hosts rite? i assume is for 118/117?

and finally what is Public LAN? ....

Hi guys, help please ....

well, yesterday rained very heavily in the evening i guess everybody knows ... with heavy thunderstorm...

after my work, den as usual jam back to home ...

and guess wat ... my router dead (no power at all)

and my desktop dead

when i boot up my PC... hmm it says cant detect keyboard (USB).. ok ... hmm maybe some losen, tried other port = same ... alrighty so maybe keyboard dead ...
so i took a spare and try, hmm same.. ok .... so i try other, ok can boot up.. this time ... it hangs... on halfway loading windows (vista)... den ok maybe just some problem, i reboot... can boot into windows, 2 mins later -> hang ... so ... i boot into safe mode .. seems ok .... den reboot back to normal, hang again like just now... den to safe mode, ok again ... back to normal, it hangs again. i tired many times, until i suspect maybe too hot around the southbridge area so i use my stand fan to blow it. fair enuf it boots, run smoothly, nothing happens ...

den i try all usb with pendrive, storage, blutooth, wifi and so on in windows, it seems dat the pc only left 2 USB port to me, 1 for keyboard 1 for mouse ... keyboard and mouse plug into other usb also unable to work.

im using Asus P5B with ICH8 ... i suspect the USB ports all kong (left 2) due to yesterday god's anger. and the PC will hang as i dunno if this is possible, maybe something wrong with my southbridge and it raises its temperature so high until it hangs? is it possible?(it used to be very very hot, have a heatsink on it too)

is there any other solutions on this except getting a new mobo?

btw, my pc is only E6420 @ 1333mhz fsb, 3GB RAM, 3 harddisk, P5B, gigabyte 600 watt PSU, 9800GT, compro tv card x30, sound blaster audigy 4. it has been oc since the day i got it which was 2 years ago until now.

any sifu here kind to share opinions? thanks a lot...

btw, right after that i updated to latest BIOS, latest mobo inf driver and basically all drivers...

Hi all the gurus in lowyat.net. I had a problem and used 2 days still not able to fix it.

Currently in a network. there are four servers (all 4 on Windows server 2003 R2)... <There is no firewall in any on these servers>

A = 192.168.0.1
B = 0.2
C = 0.3
D = 0.4

and alot of other hosts around ~0.100 to ~0.200 (XPs)

all the above is under same netwrok same switch, no router/firewall in between them.

all in same Domain (A is the AD and the DHCP server, DNS server)

ok now this is problem... Please help

D is having problem now. A B C and all Hosts can not even Ping A, cannot see shares or anything. Net View D returns "System Error 53"

but D can ping anyone of them, can view all the shares in A B C and all host.
At 1st using command "Net View" in D returns "System Error 6118" but i had fixed it. now D can view anything, can ping anything. but not the other way round.

Solutions done:
-rebooting pc
-disable/reenable NIC
-static IP in A B C D
-enabled netbios
-installed netbeui
-refreshed DNS
-WINS refreshed
-Regsitry added TransportBindName and SMBDeviceEnabled
-disabled master browser
-restarted service Comptuer Browser many times
-etc ....

Please help. this 1 seriously cracked my head .....

there is some possibilities which i can think of, probably is either Driver problem OR NIC problem ....

any help/opinions would be thankful.

Hi,

i have a question, hmm started like this,
i have a router - well pretty standard 4 port wireless router ... but i made it into 4 VLAN each port = 1VLAN, that makes it 192.168.0.0/24 , .1.0/24, .2.0/24, .3.0/24

i have a pc - normal pc but has 4 NIC each of them connected to one of the VLAN.

- the vlans have no problem (means they can funtion properly)
- the NICs of the computer have no problem (means they can get DHCP ip and able to connect too)
- between vlans are not routable (purposely make it, but all of them can go online , able to get to WAN)

the reason i need to do this, is because i have a program, and i need it to be open multiple instances, clashes happened when all of them using same interface to go internet, and force the program to close (this problem has been identified as LAN problem, not WAN interface) .....

so i need 4 vlan and have 4 seperate NIC and connect them wach NIC to each VLAN, and them use 4 instances programs at a time, so it shouldnt have any problem ....

Questions, how can i FORCE/LIMIT once of the instance of the program to use ONLY one of the interface, same to the second and so on ...

means

VLAN 1 - > pc a -> if 1 -> program 1.a
VLAN 2 - > pc a -> if 2 -> program 1.b
VLAN 3 - > pc a -> if 3 -> program 1.c
VLAN 4 - > pc a -> if 4 -> program 1.d

is there any program/firewall that can do so? Please recommend me ....
p/s: dun think metric cost can be used here ...... it only priotirize the interface ....

Help! Compaq DriveLock

Hi all sifus,
i have a very serious problem now, i have got a quite old compaq 2100,
it happens like this,
i took out the harddisk from the system, since the screws loosen, i took it out and put it back...

BUT

after that when i start the computer, something happens.
it 1st ask me to key in the DriveLock password, i tot its odd, then i just press enter and somehow it let me through, then i restart the computer, go in bios REMOVED the stupid password, ok fine able to boot into windows

then i off it for a few days,
i started it again, and guess wat? the stupid DriveLock is still tehre
and this time, i CANNOT get in no matter wat i tried, i just wont let me in!!!

so any help from all gurus here? ......

i googled abit but it seems they using special ATA command set, taht is ....
reset system bios wont help,
take out the harddisk and use as external Also wont help ....
and mainly its just dead

but i still need it as the harddisk basically is in very good condition, dun wan to waste some RM 200 to get a new harddisk .....
and i saw some website stating that even if u put a new harddisk inside, it still uses back the current harddisk password to actually lock ur new disk!
screw that Compaq/HP!!!

Hi all sifus in LYN, i have a simple question, based on what i drew up there ....
i need to do a NAT on that Webserver on below so that it can be access from the internet

the cisco router has the web interface and i can access it based on the topology right now, i changed the cisco2600 web interface to 8088 and port forward in that SMC and can be access... means the 192.168.1.1 has no problem being access from the internet and all PC over that 192.168.1.0/24 is able to access the internet ...

the problem i have right now is NOT able to let the internet access my webserver which is 192.168.1.20 (port 80) ...
now i need to port forward (NAT) that ip 192.168.1.20 to become accessible from the outside

so any Cisco sifus here able to help me please???

Sound Blaster Audigy Driver Cannot Install

Hi guys and all sifus, i need somebody help ...

i have 1 sound blaster Audigy (1st generation),bought this 4 years ago, its name is Audigy 1394 and have Model number of SB0090. Okay problem start, i cleaned my PC last few days, by taking the card out and clean and reinsert it again, i done this plenty of times, so far no problem at all, but not for this time.

i plugged in back, switched on my computer and my computer cannot even detect that card anymore. firstly i think it was just loosen, but its not, i tried a few time also the same thing. then i found out that windows DETECTED the hardware itself as a multimedia audio controller, but just the Driver itself coulnt install with "cannot detect the hardware" kind of messages. i tried alot of times using original cd, updated driver from the website and all kind of things.... but still no luck.

later i got try kX audio and think it might work, well it works! but then kX does not support EAX and games compatibility have some issues i guess, so command voices in bf2142 is really killing my ears.

so its confirm the hardware itself can be use but the driver really no good (well, creative is very popular with their sucking drivers from day 1 they started) and the official site, help is blaming the motherboard problem. and i found out ALOT of other users having the same problem.

After further finding, i found that its the eeprom bug that made the driver cannot detect the hardware itself, for some reasons, the eeprom will changed to some funny things itself due to unknown reasons (there are ALOT of reasons out there, but none confirm, it seems Creative is cheating customers for putting this bug inside for EVERYKIND of HARDWARE they have...)

So, dear all lowyatians, do u guys have any idea on how i can restored this card?
This is a good card, i love it but now it failed me, since its just a eeprom bug and drivers issue, is there any solution? to install its original driver and not kX... i dun wan to waste the money as the hardware itself is as good as new... )

its very long winded, and thanks for reading and please help me
(a new sound card, X-fi in particular, cost a bomb. and audigy 4 also not cheap ... if there is NO more solution ... i guess i will get 1 audigy value no cash ...) ...

and i dun wan to use onboard sound... tried ... but instantly shut off and disable it... its torturing my ear with that on board sound ...
