Resizing ties - can anyone do it?

I was wondering if there are any shops that are able to resize ties, essentially get the older, large width stuff (3.5") down to 2.5" instead. Would be great if there were tailors/tiemakers that could do them here in Malaysia, could save a bunch of cash.

The mid-2010 version is also from the era before all the parts got soldered onto the motherboard, which means you can very easily upgrade/replace the RAM, hard drives, battery etc. This son of a bitch can probably go on for another decade.
