Hi guys,

Need some guidance from you guys on the http://silverlight.net website.

If you look at the website, there is 2 panel for News and Latest Blogs.

I want to know how do they populate the data dynamically on to the website.

I know how to populate data from xml/database to gridview or datagridview but i would like to do something similar like this one on the web.

Project Schedule

Hey guys... I have been working as a programmer for 2 year plus in a SME..
Over the years I have built up my programming skills but yet I'm still do very badly when it comes to scheduling.
Normally my boss will show me the technical specs and then ask me to give him a schedule on how many working days is needed for every module.

So normally the technical specs he gave me is not really very technical in my opinion and is more like a client requirement which make me miss some of the important point that affect my judgment. This sometimes causes me to change/modify my database structure and this greatly affect my schedule especially when I only realize in the middle of the development. Ok this might be something I could/couldn't be done... anyone has such experience here and have opinion to share to help on this issue?

Another thing is when I plan the schedule I try to give myself 10% extra time for research and debugging but I still will use more than what I have predicted for problem such as bugs (especially common mistake which i always make), research (sometimes it takes more time for me to do research/google especially on those error message i received), and slacking (suddenly do not feel like doing anything when working hours and tend to slow down).. This I know is mistakes but I'm not very sure how to handle it.
In someway it must be my lack of discipline and I easily get distracted and not able to focus on my work.. Have you guys been the same and how you guys make sure you have enough time to do debugging and research and also make yourself to be more focus during work time.

When i was still with the company, i usually work till very late (no OT pay ) and even till next morning and just go home to sleep for 2 hours then back to office to work again. I don't want this to happen when I find a new company and is also because last time I was still single and now I have attach and obviously need to spend sometime with my girl right..

So care to share with me your way of doing things especially those freelancer.. how you guys manage to be discipline enough.

and lastly any good software for project scheduling and also task scheduling with priority function and reminder or what we call an organizer...

abit confuse

Hmmz... long story cut short...

Knew this girl for about 3 month plus. Just confessed to her 1 week plus ago but got rejected reason is she said we just knew each other not long ago
and right now she don't have any special feeling with me but I said that I will ask her again when I feel that the time is right.

This few days, I've been going out with her after work for dinner and also on the phone for hours. Then she need to apply for some permit at singapore (she currently back and forth singapore to work) on saturday so I suggest her to stay overnight at my house since is tedious to come in from jb to singapore that early and she agreed. So that night we went to have dinner then walk around then back to my house. Then we can play around in my room like tickle her tease her balblalba... but nothing 18sx lar...

So during the entire saturday after she have complete her permit we went shopping and we actually looks like couple as most of the time my hand will put on her shoulder and waist, touch her hair, tickles her, tease her intentionally and also unintentionally to test water and of course i received good sign like she touch and tickles me back. When she try out new clothing she will show me to ask for my opinion then I bought her a slipper and she even ask whether I want to buy one too but don't have for guy. She also feed the food to my mouth instead of putting it on my plate like last time.
Then she has a copy of picture of herself in her purse and I ask if she want to give it to me so that I can keep in my wallet and she really gave it to me. So everything is a green light to me right?

Here's a little bit tricky part. When I try to play with her hand (got the intention to hold her hand) but she will try to remove/avoid it. So I think that she not ready yet but why the rest of the stuff I have done she was ok and kind of like it as well.

Then the last tricky part is when late night we have a few sms with her. I was busy playing with sports then the last sms she send was a forward message which is something like "www.friend.com loading 10% 30% 100% .. Our friendship will be saved in my heart disk..gd nite". When I saw this I feel like banging my head on the wall already. Then I really don't know how to handle this situation anymore. Then after awhile I told my buddy about this few day stuff and show the sms to him and my buddy said this is sort of a mind game and is actually still quite sort of a good sign -.- which make me further confuse. So he helped me by rephrase the sms to "www.friend.com loading 30% 80% 130%.. opps.. it is more than friend and this will be saved in my heart disk forever"...

so guys wat do u think about this.....

Zoom In/Out Windows Mobile Forms

But my client want the screen to be able to zoom in/out because the user are all quite
old and they might not be able to see clearly.

I've search through google but found little information on how to magnify the form.

Anyone have any 3rd party freeware or any idea this can be done???

hey guys... i was wondering how could this feature be done.
look at this website, when you mouse over to the product, immediately a sort of popup image appear and is so fast that it looks like it didnt load or the image is already loaded when we first comes in.

so anyone know what kind of coding is it ? php? asp.net? is it possible to implement this using asp.net??

Calculation Performance

Hey guys,
Need some guidance on whether i shud do my calculation on vb.net or mssql.
I will need to import excel files that contain quite alot of data in it.
I need to use those data i retrieve and do some statistic calculation and display it out.
so im not very sure which way to do it is better so tat it will not affect the performance
since this feature will be online and can be access by public.

James Dean's car curse
In September 1955, James Dean was killed in a horrific car accident whilst he was driving his Porsche sports car. After the crash the car was seen as very unlucky.

Connect MSSQL database without VPN

Then right now im only able to connect the database using MSSQL in my PC through VPN.

Is there any configuration i can do to access it without VPN.

Heres the scenario.

I have a Server(pc A) that i can access through VPN. Then now i have an window application at pc B connected to the VPN.
So how do i upload file frm pc B to pc A through vb.net (window) ?
I tried My.Computer.Network.UploadFile but is only workable for FTP site.

any 1 can help me?

Hi Guys,

I have this upload function that upload pdf file to the server.
for example i uploaded 2 file into the server which is name "test file 1.pdf" and "#test file 1.pdf"

after that i populate the list using gridview and by using template i created the hyperlink to access this two file but i only manage to open "test file 1.pdf" but not "#test file 1.pdf".
when i click on the link to open "#test file 1.pdf", it bring me to the "Page Not Found" page.

Anyone can help me up with this?

Replace(Server.UrlEncode("link"),"+","%20")

the Server.UrlEncode() will encode the Link for example "#test file 1.pdf"
to "%23test+file+1.pdf".

then the Replace() method will replace "+" with "%20"
and the final link will look like "%23test%20file%201.pdf" and this link would b workable..

there is this function in window media player under advance editor..but is not working... everytime i close it thn the image is erase...
any guy noe how to do it?
