A friend of mine brought these back from New Zealand. That's the lowest I found in Malaysia, if you find lower price, let me know and I will try to beat it.

Manuka Honey

For thousands of years honey has been known for its antibacterial, healing and health-enhancing properties. Certain honeys from specific plants are more
effective than others, and the honey that comes from some strains of the New Zealand Manuka bush is one of these.

In 1981 Dr Peter Molan (MBE), Associate Professor in Biochemistry at Waikato University, confirmed that some strains of the New Zealand Manuka bush honey
contains an extraordinary, naturally present, very stable and powerful non-peroxide antibacterial activity not found in any other variety of honey.

The presence of the special non-peroxide activity can be detected only by an array of scientific testing directly relating to the phenol standard. The UMF®
rating has a one-to-one relationship to the phenol standard e.g. UMF® 5 Manuka honey has the same non-peroxide antibacterial activity as a 5% phenol
solution.

What Is UMF?

• UMF is the name of a very beneficial antibacterial property found in some strains of manuka honey. (UMF is not in all manuka honey.)

• UMF indicates the honey has a high antibacterial component.

• UMF is a guarantee and measure of the antibacterial potency of honey.

• UMF Manuka Honey (UMF5 is minimum level) has enhanced antibacterial potency giving it special healing qualities.

• UMF Manuka Honey is the preferred honey when selecting honey for special therapeutic uses.

• UMF is an industry registered name, trademark, standard indicating antibacterial quality

• The UMF standard is the only standard worldwide identifying and measuring the antibacterial strength of honey.
