Hey guys,

Upgrading my rig soon so won't be needing my 3 year old rig which is still working well actually. Figure I'd pick it apart and sell some of the components off mainly the CPU and GPU. Rather let someone who has some use for it get it than leave it lying around and will probably never be used again.

Looking to sell a 3 year old Sapphire AMD 6970 (Full box and accessories) GPU and a 3 year old Intel Core i5 2500k processor (just the chip).

Anyone know how much I can sell these for in the current market?

Hello peeps,

Apologies for being a pain again haha Anyway I've got a secondary rig which was built from leftover parts from before. Figured that its pointless now having a secondary rig since I've got my main rig (changing soon) and 2 laptops. So looking to take it apart and sell the parts.

Anyway would appreciate some help on estimating the value for each of the following. Most have full box and everything that comes with the item and official receipt for warranty claim if warranty is still valid. Most items are around 1 and a half years to 2 years and most items are not being used often due to only being used occasionally by mates to play LAN games together when he comes to my house.

Intel Core Quad Q6600 G0 stepping (just the chip, no HSF, been using the Zalman cooler)

Hey guys, looking to build a gaming rig. Got a pretty decent sound card and speakers already. So just looking at the following with a budget of around 4.5k including monitor:

Processor: Intel Core i5 2500, RM639
Mobo: Gigabyte P67A-UD3, RM495
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 dual channel 4GB Kit, RM239
Hard Disk: Western Digital Green 2TB, RM280
Casing: CM 690II Advanced, RM339
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 600w, RM469
Graphics: Sapphire 6950 2GB, RM999
CPU Cooler: CM V6GT, RM199 (Actually I am more interested in the V8 but there is no V8 in the Cycom pricelist)
Monitor: Samsung XL2370, RM889

Total: RM4548

Anyone can suggest any other alternatives which is better that is around the same price? Better + cheaper alternatives will be a huge plus as with the above my budget is already being pushed to the limit. By the way I've selected the above from Cycom's price list because my previous desktop was built at Cycom, but its been a pretty long time as I only change my system approximately every 2 and a half to 3 years or more with only minor component changes here and there in between. I'm open to suggestions of shops in lowyat which I can get better deals, service and with helpful and friendly sales assistants as well.....

Position offered doesn't tally with exp and pay

Hi, this is actually a problem of a friend of mine. My friend asked me for advise but to be honest I have no idea on this lol

Okay his situation is like this. He is currently a fresh grad with only 4 or 5 months internship experience. He recently applied for a fresh grad exec position and he managed to ace the interview etc etc. Then recently he was called to collect his offer letter and was offered the job however he noticed that the job title/position stated on the offer letter is of an experienced position however the pay is still fresh grad level which has previously been nego and agreed upon. Example his job title should be "XXXXX Executive" but the job title stated on the offer letter is "XXXXX Associate". According to the company's ranking system fresh/entry level starts off as an Executive, then Associate, then Senior Associate, then Manager and so on.

Basically his doubts are in this sort of situation will there be any disadvantages or have any impact on say for example in terms of future internal promotion + increment. Does it really matter ? or is my friend just thinking too much.

Auto Disconnect

Hi everyone.

Well I'm using a Billion modem connected to a Linksys router. Using Streamyx 1MB/s package. Everything is working fine and there is no problems connecting to the Internet.

However there is this PC when I use it to connect to the wireless network it causes all other PCs/laptops to disconnect. Its using a D-Link wireless adapter...same as the other PC.

What I did was connect a laptop of mine and another desktop to the wireless network and leave both ping-ing the DNS server. However the minute I connect this particular PC to the wireless network you can see the ping-ing immediately stops on both the other laptop and PC and times out all the way. Needless to say connection on both the laptop and earlier PC fails. As soon as I disconnect the problematic PC connection on the other laptop and PC returns to normal.....

I have checked properly there are no IP conflicts.....

Anyone got a rough idea what the problem might be? Thanks in advanced.

Senior Executive

Hi everyone. Basically I'm a fresh grad who has just completed my studies about a month ago. I am graduating with a Bachelor's Degree (HONS) in Networking/Telecommunications from a reputable University.

Last night I received a call from one of the banks offering me an interview for a Senior Executive, MIS Analyst position. Well generally I would prefer an engineering job but of course I am open to basically anything else that comes my way at the moment. Of course I will be going for the interview however there are a few questions playing in my mind regarding this position if I do succeed in the interview.

What I am wondering is in terms of career advancement, where do I see myself in say 10 years from now in terms of salary and future job prospects assuming I stay in this line of work till then? because honestly I have no idea where this would lead me to if I choose to undertake this path. Well I admit nothing is certain when it comes to careers but at least I have a rough idea if say I start off as a Network Engineer or Junior RF Engineer etc etc.

Also is it normal for companies or banks for that matter to offer Senior Executive positions to fresh grads just hot out of the oven with 0 experience? Unless well you take internship into account as working experience then I have little over 4 months which is still at entry level at best. Well my results are good but not that great either with a Second Class Upper Honors degree (3.45 GPA).

Last but not least usually what is the pay like for this job position or in my case more specifically starting pay for a Senior Executive MIS Analyst freshie ? lol.

Hello, I need some help here figuring what is wrong. I was surfing the net when suddenly my PC hanged. This is strange because it never happened before. I restarted my PC but later it would not start. Everything seems to be running but it doesn't start at all. Doesn't even show the BIOS screen. Just full black screen. There were no beep codes whatsoever too....Appreciate it greatly if anyone can help me diagnose the problem and also help me with the steps to identifying the problem.
