Shadowlands Thread of Fate mode

Shadowlands has been released and with it comes with a new leveling method called Thread of Fate. This gameplay mode can only be accessed:

- after one of your toons has reached max level of 60 and finished the main campaign, and choose a Covenant. Covenant is just one of the four factions that you have to make commitment to throughout this expansion, as most of your power in game will tie to the progress you make within the faction.
- your alt toon still needs to go through the introductory questline in the Maw and escape to Oribos, the new hub city.

To meet the requirements is not difficult, most people already finished the main campaign in less than a few days by playing on and off. And the campaign is linear that all you need is to do all the quests with a shield icon and you will never get lost. And the intro questline in the Maw is easy and not depends on your gear level, since in all fights you will have helper NPCs aiding you and even when I play a toon with only ilevel 50 (equivalent to about Legion gears), I can just let the NPCs do all the work.

After you start Thread of Fate in Oribos, this will be permanent and all your main campaign quests are marked as completed. From then onward, you will level up by doing only side quests (all of which will be marked with question marks on map), world quests which are random and renewed from time to time, bonus objectives on map (similar to the map objective started from Warlords of Draenor), killing rare mob, or run dungeons. Besides granting you experienes to level up, world quests can also drop gear reward to help you gear up. At level 51, the world quest is currently dropping ilevel 90 gear which is equivalent to previous expansion endgame welfare gears. So it is a good way to catch up on your alt toons if they are not already geared up during previous expansions.

After you have chosen Thread of Fate mode, you can also grouped up with other people including other max level 60 toon to do the world quests together. This will provide a more flexible way for veteren players to help newcomer friends to get their alt toons to max level, instead of just relying on replaying the main campaign.

Also, if you are leveling an alt toon fresh from level 1, with the new level squash it is pretty fast to reach level 50 now. Starting from level 10 onward, you are able to quest in any previous expansion content, including doing the Legion invasion quests and BFA incursion quests. All previous expansions are scaled to your level. At lower level, Legion invasion quests actually grant you quite a lot of experiences so I always choose to do them when they are up.

This new feature makes it so content from locations like Northrend or Pandaria scales to a player’s level, so they can adventure from level 10 all the way to 50 and experience the stories in these areas at their originally intended pacing. Visit Chromie near the embassies in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to select your expansion leveling experience. If you'd like to select a different expansion to level through, simply speak to Chromie again.

leveling alt after 7.2

Just to share my experience in leveling alt right now. It is totally possible to level an alt from level 100 to level 110 just using Legion invasion alone. I have already leveled a priest this way since 7.2 dropped. And I did not even do the starting artifact quest, which I intend to do after reaching level 110. This expansion has a lot of story which can only be experienced by having all 12 classes, therefore I am leveling all of them. Without the artifact quest to unlock other quests, can still fly over to the main land to grab FP and do the invasion world quests when they pop.

More good news on the way is that according to dev, heirlooms will be upgraded in patch 7.2.5, which will make leveling alt even faster than.

I am only 25% done at rep, but I have seen a few players flying around already. How far are you at unlocking flying? Is there any trick to speed up the rep farming?

mob power scale with ilevel in 7.2

Barely 1 day into patch 7.2, people already noticed now world mob power is scaling with your ilevel. Apparently, the sweet spot of ilevel is now 850, because if your ilevel is more than 850, the world mob power will scale accordingly so you end up feeling like you never progress beyond ilevel 850.

Currently workaround is to take off one of your ring to drop your ilevel to as close to 850 as possible. Then the mob power will be adjusted and since you only lose secondary stat, it does not affect your power too much.

game token price shoots up to 100k per token

On American and Oceania realms, game token is now being sold at 100k gold per token. Are you able to make that much gold in a given month?

In game gold is generated by one of these activities: loot drop, quest reward, group/raid finder reward, world quest reward, champion hall mission reward. Some of the more rewarding activities are to do world quests, run champion hall missions, and to solo legacy raids. I do not include profession, AH and selling carry as gold generation because those gold are actually obtained from other players who need to do the actual gold generation activities to get the gold in the first place.

If the player base in average cannot generate enough gold per month, eventually the current stash of gold will run dry when people purchasing more game tokens and the price will fall back. But if the player base find it easy to generate 100k in game gold or more in a month, game token price will be pushed up higher as demands increases.

Lets do this survey and hopefully it can predict whether the game token price will go up or down in the future.

fast exp in legions

At the moment, winning rbg is rather good in getting bars of exp quickly. I heard someone reaching level 109 in 21 hours just running rbg.

demon invasion exp nerf

was having fun leveling alts to level 100 via demon invasions. before the nerf, level 90 toon can get to level 100 after doing 16 invasions. Now each invasion rewards only 33% as much exp. But the frequency has increased to 3 invasions every 2 hours instead of earlier 2 invasionms every 4 hours. So for those who has some alt toons sitting around with nothing to do, you might just want to send them to invasion zone and get exp for free. Just sitting around doing nothing already qualify for getting the exp when each stage is completed.

only level 10 and above toon can qualify to take part in demon invasion by the way. Low level toons get more exp than high level.

Specialization System Changes
Characters can now change between any of their specializations while out of combat. Action bar configurations and talent loadouts are saved for each specialization. As a result, Dual Specialization has been removed

No more dual spec. Can change of any spec of current class. No more forced to sacrifice one spec because you can only choose two specs.

With Legion on the horizon, we wanted to let you know of an upcoming change that will open up additional grouping opportunities for players. As of the expansion pre-patch, players on North American, Latin American, and Oceanic realms will be able to group together in the open world no matter what realm their party or raid members are on. Players will also be able to see all available groups within the Group Finder, regardless of realm. This update will make it easier than ever for people to play together and group up for adventures like the new World Quests in Legion.

Additionally, reset timers for recurring in-game activities such as daily/weekly quests and raid/dungeon lockouts will be updated to a single unified lockout time of 15:00:00 UTC (8 a.m. PDT / 1 a.m. AEST) for all North American, Latin American, and Oceanic realms. This change will make it more convenient for players, as you will only need to keep track of one reset time. Weekly resets will occur on Tuesdays (early Wednesday mornings for Oceanic realms) at this time.

After accident how to make police report?

Got a friend had a road accident and is now hospitalized. Since the fault is not his, he would like to make a police report about the accident for insurance purpose. But he is also currently in hospital due to wounds. Is it ok to make a police report after 24 hours? Or if the report must be made within 24 hours, how to make one while being hospitalized?

Any idea?
